Steelers | Eli Rogers off crutches

Wed, 21 Feb 2018 23:31:27 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Eli Rogers (knee) said he's off crutches as of Wednesday, Feb. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Rogers has flashed some potential since entering the league in 2016, but the reality is it's hard to see him becoming a meaningful fantasy player with how loaded the Steelers are on offense. In 14 games this past season, the former Louisville standout registered just 18 catches on 36 targets for 149 yards and a score. He doesn't need to be drafted in just about all leagues based on his current situation.

Steelers | Eli Rogers may not be ready for Week 1

Sat, 20 Jan 2018 13:56:01 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Eli Rogers (knee) may not be ready for the start of the 2018 regular season because he underwent surgery earlier this week to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament. He is a restricted free agent this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Rogers could be a candidate for the Physically Unable to Perform list next season if he is not ready for Week 1. He should be avoided in most leagues but could be a waiver wire option during the season.

Steelers | Eli Rogers undergoes surgery

Sat, 20 Jan 2018 10:18:27 -0800

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Eli Rogers (knee) - an impending restricted free-agent - underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Given how late in the season his injury occurred and the fact he is a restricted free agent, it's hard to see any team going overboard to do what it takes to acquire him this offseason. If he remains in Pittsburgh, he's highly unlikely to see a significant change in fantasy value from 2017.

Steelers | Eli Rogers suffered torn ACL

Fri, 19 Jan 2018 12:50:25 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Eli Rogers (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the Divisional Round playoff game.

Fantasy Tip: Rogers may not be ready for the start of the 2018 season, so owners should monitor his status during the offseason. He will be the team's No. 4 receiver when he returns and will not be a great fantasy option.

Steelers | Eli Rogers on crutches after game

Sun, 14 Jan 2018 14:39:02 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Eli Rogers (leg) suffered an injury to his lower right leg in the AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Jan. 14. He was helped off the field and unable to put any weight on his leg, and on crutches with the leg wrapped after the game.

Fantasy Tip: He'll have plenty of time to heal with the team being eliminated from the postseason. Rogers posted 18 receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown during the regular season, but could be more useful in 2018 depending on personnel moves. As long as Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster are around he has little in the way of fantasy appeal.

Steelers | Eli Rogers finishes with 42 yards

Sun, 14 Jan 2018 13:51:01 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Eli Rogers caught five passes for 42 yards in the Divisional Round playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday, Jan. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Rogers was not a big factor in the passing game this season and may only be the team's No. 4 receiver next season. Owners in most leagues probably can avoid Rogers in drafts in 2018.

Steelers | JuJu Smith-Schuster moving up depth chart

Fri, 29 Sep 2017 09:20:19 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has reportedly passed Eli Rogers on the depth chart and taken ownership of slot receiver duties, ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.

Fantasy Tip: Smith-Schuster saw a 51-21 advantage over Rogers in snaps, recorded six targets to Rogers' zero and had the team's longest catch in Week 3. While it remains to be seen whether or not the rookie is ready to become a fantasy-relevant player yet is another story, but he's a watch list candidate at the very least at the moment. With the Baltimore Ravens next on the schedule, Smith-Schuster could be busy again this week.

Steelers | JuJu Smith-Schuster favored in red zone?

Sun, 06 Aug 2017 19:19:54 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster split reps with WR Eli Rogers as the slot receiver with the first-team, but Smith-Schuster was used more often in the red zone.

Fantasy Tip: Smith-Schuster has some intriguing long-term potential, so he is worth a roster spot in keeper formats. He probably doesn't need to be owned in redraft leagues unless Martavis Bryant or Antonio Brown misses time.
