Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun Times, reports Chicago Bears TE John Davis (back) is eligible to return from the physically-unable-to-perform list on Monday, Oct. 13. The Bears will have three weeks to decide what they would like to do with him. Davis, who is recovering from back surgery, said he will be ready to play, but the team has not made any announcement. ''I'd really be premature with that,'' Jauron said. ''As of last week, [medical personnel] weren't certain.''

Updating previous reports, Larry Mayer, of ChicagoBears.com, reports Chicago Bears TE John Davis (back) had a disc removed from his back Tuesday, Aug. 12, and will likely start the season on the physically unable to perform list should he remain with the Bears.
