Chargers | Tyrell Williams not practicing

Tue, 21 Aug 2018 13:13:15 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Tyrell Williams (foot) was not able to practice due to foot soreness. Head coach Anthony Lynn said Williams will be OK.

Fantasy Tip: Williams is flying under the radar with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams hogging the spotlight. He's two years removed from a 1,000-yard, seven touchdown campaign. He's worth a look as a WR4.

Chargers | Mike Williams a second-teamer for now

Tue, 07 Aug 2018 18:35:14 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams was listed with the second-team offense on the team's initial depth chart release Tuesday, Aug. 7. Keenan Allen and Tyrell Williams are listed as the first-team receivers.

Fantasy Tip: Tyrell Williams is likely getting the nod because he has been with the team longer and proved capable of holding his own as the lead receiver in 2016. He is good enough to potentially keep Mike Williams out of the lineup all season, but make no mistake about it: the former Clemson star will make an impact if he can stay healthy this time around. While the two Williams may cancel each other out for fantasy purposes, both are very worthy of roster spots in all leagues.

Chargers | Keenan Allen to play in slot?

Thu, 31 May 2018 09:13:26 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen may see more snaps from the slot this year due to TE Hunter Henry (knee) being out for the season. General manager Tom Telesco said the Chargers need to adapt and move on without Henry. Part of that adaptation will be implementing more three-wide receiver sets. In such scenarios, WRs Mike Williams and Tyrell Williams would likely line up on the outside with WR Keenan Allen in the slot, according to ESPN.com's Eric Williams.

Fantasy Tip: Allen is a tough matchup wherever he plays, but playing from the slot gives him a more diverse route tree. As long as the Chargers' standout receiver avoids injury, he should easily produce WR1 numbers again.

Chargers | Tyrell Williams signs tender

Mon, 23 Apr 2018 13:01:36 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers restricted free-agent WR Tyrell Williams signed his tender Monday, April 23, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was a bust last year as Keenan Allen stayed healthy and essentially monopolized the Chargers' passing game. More so, Mike Williams is returning from an injury-riddled rookie year and could only make matters worse for his fellow Williams. Don't view Tyrell Williams as more than a late-round flier.

Chargers | Mike Williams has work to do

Tue, 27 Feb 2018 20:50:24 -0800

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams has a lot of work to do this offseason before emerging as the No. 2 option at wide receiver, according to beat writer Eric D. Williams, who believes that job is still held by WR Tyrell Williams.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was on the shelf for a good chunk of 2018 due to injury, and he still has Travis Benjamin and Tyrell Williams to contend with for targets behind Keenan Allen. As such, Mike Williams is a bit of a risky fantasy play with a murky fantasy outlook heading into the offseason.

Chargers | Tyrell Williams posts 50 yards

Sun, 24 Dec 2017 14:30:49 -0800

Los Angeles Chargers WR Tyrell Williams caught five passes for 50 yards against the New York Jets in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has been a bit inconsistent with his receiving yards during the second half of the season but remains a solid part of the passing game. He could be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues in Week 17.

Chargers | Big game for Tyrell Williams

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 21:00:35 -0800

Los Angeles Chargers WR Tyrell Williams caught four passes for 132 yards and a touchdown in a 30-13 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Williams is a boom-or-bust, touchdown-dependent fantasy play, but games like this are why he can be useful for larger DFS tournaments.
