Fri, 20 Oct 2017 12:10:19 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 20, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi likely will be bothered by the knee for the rest of the season but will be able to play. He recorded his second 100-yard game last week and should receive a solid amount of carries against the New York Jets. He can be considered a No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi dealing with chronic soreness

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 06:21:44 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) has been dealing with chronic knee soreness since the end of the preseason, which has required a day off each week for treatment. Offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen hinted that it has stunted Ajayi's development in the passing game because of the missed repetitions. "It is kind of an issue (because) he doesn't practice every single day," Christensen said. "So he probably needs the extra reps in the passing game, but when you get him out there you want to get your runs called."

Fantasy Tip: He tore his right anterior cruciate ligament six years ago, and there was concern that he'd require constant treatment to stay on the field when he came out of the NFL Draft. His lack of a touchdown and seven grabs for 23 yards are what have kept him from his RB1 potential up to this point. He has a so-so matchup against the New York Jets this week.

Fantasy Tip: That's two straight practices missed for Ajayi, but don't give up on him yet. He wasn't at full health last week and managed to cultivate his best game of the season. Monitor his status over the next couple of days, but keep him in your starting lineup for now.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi gobbles up 130 yards

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 13:55:54 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi rushed 26 times for 130 yards in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons. He was also targeted three times in the pass game but did not have a catch.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi was slowed by a knee ailment in practice but he didn't appear to be hindered in this road win. His 130 rushing yards were a season high, and it was his first 100-yard day since the team's first game of the season at L.A. Chargers in Week 2. The Dolphins host the Jets in Week 7.
