Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher said he would be willing to test free agency next offseason if the team does not sign him to a contract extension before free agency begins. Urlacher said he wants to finish career with the Bears but does not know what would happen if he hit free agency.

Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher (knee) said his left knee isn't 100 percent healed after injuring himself in the team's season finale last year. "There's some things I still can't do right now. When it's time for me to be healthy ... I haven't pushed it. I've done what I've been told to do," Urlacher said. "I've kind of stayed off of it for the most part. There's no reason for me to rush it right now. It was a pretty good injury, so I'm just trying to relax a little bit longer. Then when it's time to get going I'll be ready to go." He's not worried about missing offseason workouts, though.

Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher admitted Tuesday, Jan. 24, that he would not admit to injuries in order to stay on the field and play, instead receiving pain-killing injections in order to deal with pain. "If I have a concussion these days, I'm going to say something happened to my toe or knee just to get my bearings for a few plays," Urlacher said. "I'm not going to sit in there and say I got a concussion. (Then) I can't go in there the rest of the game."
