Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills FB Daimon Shelton, who sat out the 2003 season after being released by the Chicago Bears last summer, has been impressive in minicamp thus far. "Daimon has been nothing but a positive since he's been here," said Bills coach Mike Mularkey. "His offseason workouts here have been tremendous. He's kind of a quiet guy, but he has no problem jumping in front of lines and getting guys to follow him. He runs the right assignments and he catches the ball well."

Chris Brown, of Bills Digest, reports Buffalo Bills FB Daimon Shelton, who sat out the 2003 season after being released by the Chicago Bears last summer, believes he is recommitted to the game and he is focused on having a great season in 2004. "It was very humbling," said Shelton of his year out of football. "It opened my eyes to a lot of things. The game is so precious to me and to be out for that whole season, it really hit me hard. Being away from it definitely gave me a brand new hunger for the game."

According to John Clayton of ESPN, the Chicago Bears have re-signed FB Daimon Shelton to a two-year, $1.25 million contract that included a $75,000 signing bonus. He will make another $25,000 if he participates in a workout program. Shelton still has three regular-season games to serve from last year's four-game suspension. He'll lose $94,000 in game checks due to the suspension.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Chicago Bears GM Jerry Angelo once again said the team would like to keep their free agents but reiterated the Bears will likely lose two or three starters via the free agent market. The team is trying to re-sign C Olin Kreutz and FB Daimon Shelton. Kreutz is looking to get a deal in line with what Minnesota's Matt Birk (7-years, $36 million) received last year. On the defensive side of the ball, Angelo said the team can't afford to sign a marquee pass-rusher.

The Sun Times reports agent Angelo Wright, who represents Chicago Bears FB Daimon Shelton, said his client is preparing to sue Syntrax Innovation, the manufacturer of fat burner Adipokinetix. According to Wright, the suit will allege that the product was not labeled properly. Shelton was suspended for testing positive for the steroid nandrolone, which he claims appeared as a result of using the over-the-counter supplement.

The Daily Southtown reports Chicago Bears FB Daimon Shelton will be in uniform this weekend and starting for the Bears once again. Shelton is still awaiting a hearing regarding a steroid violation, which has now been posponed three times. The Bears expect to have Shelton in uniform for the Nov. 25 game against Minnesota, too. He could be handed a four-game suspension for violation of the policy.
