Marlins | No Justin Bour against Pirates

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 14:03:57 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup Monday, Aug. 24. 3B Casey McGehee is starting at first base and batting sixth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP J.A. Happ Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Bour ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has really faded after his strong start to the season. He owns a .216/.301/.363 slash line since the beginning of June with just seven home runs. You should aim higher in the majority of seasonal leagues, and even in cavernous mixed and NL-only formats Bour is a low-end option. McGehee ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is batting just .189 this season, and FantasyScore players should view him as a low-end option Monday.

Marlins | Justin Bour ends homer drought

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 20:14:31 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday, Aug. 15, ending a 30-game home run drought.

Fantasy Tip: Bour ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has been scuffling in August, hitting just .226. He doesn't offer enough upside to warrant taking a chance on at FantasyScore.

Marlins | Justin Bour taking day off

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 14:37:42 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup Friday, Aug. 14. 3B Casey McGehee is starting at first base and hitting cleanup against St. Louis Cardinals SP Jaime Garcia.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is a poor daily choice, even while hitting in a run-producing spot in the lineup. He has only 12 hits in 63 at-bats (.190) with no home runs and five RBI for Miami, and Garcia has been very solid all year.

Marlins | Justin Bour out again

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 14:08:11 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup for the second straight day Tuesday, Aug. 4. 3B Casey McGehee is starting at first base again and hitting cleanup against New York Mets SP Jon Niese.

Fantasy Tip: Bour has been splitting time with McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) since McGehee was brought on board. Only keep Bour on your roster in the deepest of leagues for his power. McGehee is hitting only .211 on the season with two home runs and 15 RBI. We don't recommend using him on FantasyScore unless you're desperate for salary cap relief.

Marlins | Justin Bour will not start

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 13:38:47 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup against New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon Monday, Aug. 3. 3B Casey McGehee will start at first base and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Bour ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the near future. McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting only .208 this season and has not recorded an RBI in his last 15 games. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use.

Marlins | Casey McGehee starting at first

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 14:13:20 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Casey McGehee will start at first base and hit fourth in the order Saturday, Aug. 1, against the San Diego Padres and RHP Odrisamer Despaigne. 1B Justin Bour comes out of the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting just .210 against righties this year, and he should be completely avoided on FantasyScore, despite such an ideal spot in the batting order.

Marlins | Justin Bour takes a seat

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 07:41:50 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is out of the lineup Thursday, July 30, in favor of 3B Casey McGehee in the cleanup spot.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has struggled all year and doesn't matchup well against Max Scherzer. Avoid him on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Justin Bour out of the lineup

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:41:32 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann Tuesday, July 28. 3B Casey McGehee will start at first base and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Bour ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and will return to the lineup soon. McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is batting only .212 since joining the Marlins and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Michael Morse in and batting fifth

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 15:00:49 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Michael Morse is playing first base and batting fifth against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Robbie Ray Wednesday, July 22. 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Morse ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is an extremely risky FantasyScore option, as he has a .211/.268/.316 slash line for the year. Plus, Ray ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has a 2.29 ERA, a 2.57 FIP, a 1.07 WHIP and a 7.5 K/9 through his nine starts this season.

Marlins | Justin Bour sitting vs. Arizona

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 14:54:04 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks Wednesday, July 22. 1B Michael Morse is starting at first base and batting fifth against Arizona SP Robbie Ray Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Bour ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) in all fantasy formats Wednesday. Lefty Ray ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has been extremely effective of late, and Bour is a left-handed hitter. Morse ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is nothing more than a desperation flier for FantasyScore players, as he has a .211/.268/.316 slash line for the year.
