Milwaukee Brewers RP Will Smith (knee) will begin jogging soon, according to manager Craig Counsell. SP Matt Garza (lat) and RP Corey Knebel (oblique) are both "progressing the right way."
Fantasy Tip: All three pitchers are currently on the DL and won't be back for a while. With Jeremy Jeffress looking good in the closer's role, Smith and Knebel have become afterthoughts for Milwaukee's bullpen. Garza is one to watch when he returns in deep mixed leagues, but he's not worth stashing for now.

Milwaukee Brewers RP Corey Knebel (oblique) hasn't had any progress from his oblique strain.
Fantasy Tip: There remains no timetable for a return for Knebel. Oblique injuries for pitchers are nagging and can linger for long periods of time, so you'll need to be patient if you're stashing him in AL leagues. Jeremy Jeffress has looked good in his save opportunities to begin the year and should be owned everywhere.

Milwaukee Brewers RP Corey Knebel (oblique) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique Saturday, April 2.
Fantasy Tip: With both Knebel and Will Smith opening on the DL, Jeremy Jeffress now has a clear shot at the permanent closer's job to begin the season. The hard-throwing right-hander should be added in all formats if he's still available.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Matt Garza (shoulder) was put on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder tendonitis Monday, July 6, and RP Corey Knebel was recalled from Class AAA Colorado Springs in a corresponding move. The DL stint is retroactive to July 3.
Fantasy Tip: Garza ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) should be dropped in all shallow leagues if he was still owned. He was having a rough season with a 4-10 record, a 5.55 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP in 16 starts. It's unknown who will replace him in the starting rotation. Stay tuned.

Texas Rangers RP Corey Knebel (elbow) has been shut down with an ulnar collateral ligament injury, which will not require surgery, according to general manager Jon Daniels.

Texas Rangers RP Neftali Feliz will take over as closer after the team dealt RP Joakim Soria. "The Feliz of old is a dominant, elite closer," general manager Jon Daniels said. "He may get that opportunity, whether it's as a traditional closer or in some other way. He's still so young and you still see the ability, just not as consistently. It would be a good test for him to see how he responds."
Fantasy Tip: Feliz should be picked up in AL-only leagues if he's available and most mixed formats if you need saves. He hasn't shown to be the dominant pitcher pre-Tommy John surgery, but he could get better as the season goes on. Corey Knebel could also figure into the mix at some point.

The Texas Rangers traded RP Joakim Soria to the Detroit Tigers Wednesday, July 23, according to a source. The Rangers will get RP Corey Knebel, and minor-league P Jake Thompson. The deal is pending physicals.
Fantasy Tip: The bullpen in Detroit has been a dumpster fire this season, and the team would likely be well ahead in the Central Division race if not for its shortcomings. It's uncertain yet whether Soria will step into closer duties in Motown, but fantasy owners of Joe Nathan have to dislike this deal tremendously. Nathan has struggled with plenty of blown saves, and it wouldn't be shocking to see Soria step right into ninth-inning duties.
