Buccaneers | Cameron Brate leads the way

Mon, 05 Dec 2016 05:17:20 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate had a game-high six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 Sunday, Dec. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Brate has averaged six targets per game over the last five games, and he has three touchdowns in that time. He has worked his way into the low-end TE1 mix, but he's not a sure thing.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate quiet in victory

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 19:18:22 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate posted two catches for 18 yards on three targets in the Week 11 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was targeted three times.

Fantasy Tip: Brate saw his three-game touchdown streak come to an end, and his yardage total was his lowest since a 16-yard line in Week 2. Chalk it up as one poor outing, as he remains a decent streaming option in most deeper fantasy leagues.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate's role growing

Sat, 19 Nov 2016 18:31:48 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate has caught a touchdown in three straight games, and he said the offense is using the tight end in more ways than it was at the start of the year.

Fantasy Tip: With his effectiveness in the red zone and a growing role in the offense, Brate is worth a look as a low-end TE1 in deeper leagues.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate racked up five receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown on six targets in the Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, Nov. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Brate has scored in back-to-back games, and he has four scores over his past six outings. Despite the two scores in two games, he remains more of a bye-week replacement and emergency starter than a regular fantasy contributor.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate leads the way

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 22:38:21 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate posted five receptions for a team-high 67 yards on eight targets in the Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: The former Harvard standout has 10 receptions for 113 yards and two scores over the past two games since the team jettisoned troubled Austin Seferian-Jenkins. Brate isn't a bad stopgap option if you need a bye-week replacement in future games since he has been targeted 18 times in the past two outings.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate makes most of chance

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 21:46:16 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate posted five catches for 46 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams. He was targeted 10 times.

Fantasy Tip: Brate moved to the top of the depth chart after the team jettisoned Austin Seferian-Jenkins for his off-field issues. Despite the big game he should be targeted more as a TE2 for depth rather than as a primary fantasy starter.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins climbs depth chart

Wed, 07 Sep 2016 09:31:26 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins is listed alongside TE Cameron Brate as the co-starters at tight end for the Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons Sunday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins has tremendous fantasy upside because of his size and speed, but injuries have derailed him maintaining any momentum through his first two seasons in the league. Until the snap counts and target share is clearer between Seferian-Jenkins and Brate, there isn't a lot of fantasy value here. Seferian-Jenkins has the most long-term appeal, though.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins not starting

Mon, 05 Sep 2016 19:00:31 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins worked with the second-team offense in practice Monday, Sept. 5. Beat writer Greg Auman thinks Seferian-Jenkins plays plenty in the Week 1 opener, but TEs Cameron Brate and Luke Stocker are believed to be the team's starters.

Fantasy Tip: ASJ might need an injury to Brate or Stocker, or perhaps a trade to another team, to regain fantasy relevance. He yelled at his coach during the preseason opener, so clearly he is in the doghouse. Avoid him in most fantasy leagues for now.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate drops a couple

Sun, 21 Aug 2016 19:22:52 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate dropped a pass that led to an interception and dropped another pass that would have been a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday, Aug. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Brate is trying to secure the starting tight end job, but Austin Seferian-Jenkins could also land the gig. Seferian-Jenkins has the much higher ceiling and is worth a late-round pick if he enters Week 1 as the starter.
