Buccaneers | Cameron Brate will remain involved

Mon, 15 May 2017 07:08:02 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate will still remain a "very valuable part of the offense," which was a sentiment the team has emphasized repeatedly after drafting TE O.J. Howard.

Fantasy Tip: Brate is coming off a 57-660-8 breakout, but he may not be able to repeat it in 2017. He'll be a low-end TE1 option in fantasy.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate ready for OTAs

Sun, 07 May 2017 17:43:16 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate (back) said he has been fully recovered for more than two months and will be able to participate in OTA workouts without limitations when they begin.

Fantasy Tip: Brate's fantasy value took a big blow this offseason when Tampa Bay added DeSean Jackson in free agency and drafted O.J. Howard. However, he hauled in eight touchdowns last year, and his impact in the red zone could keep him in the TE2 conversation.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate still in the plans

Fri, 28 Apr 2017 21:48:13 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate is a "heck of a player" and will still be involved in the offense despite the addition of TE O.J. Howard, according to general manager Jason Licht. "In our offense and a lot of offenses in today's day and age, you have two tight ends," Licht said.

Fantasy Tip: Brate will undoubtedly lose targets to Howard and DeSean Jackson, and his chances of being a TE1 in 2017 have disappeared. That being said, his impact in the red zone could keep him in the TE2 conversation.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate signs tender

Mon, 17 Apr 2017 14:20:55 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers restricted free-agent TE Cameron Brate signed his exclusive rights tender Monday, April 17.

Fantasy Tip: Brate is coming off a career year in which he caught 57 passes for 660 yards and eight touchdowns. The eight touchdowns were tied for most among tight ends (Hunter Henry). Assuming Brate stays healthy and maintains his starting role, he'll be in the running for TE1 status again this year.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate signs tender

Mon, 17 Apr 2017 07:17:01 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers exclusive rights free-agent TE Cameron Brate signed his tender Monday, April 17.

Fantasy Tip: Brate broke out with a 57-660-8 year last year, but there are concerns whether he can repeat that. The Bucs really didn't have anyone to throw to besides Mike Evans, who was drawing double coverages. Now they've added DeSean Jackson to open things up. So temper expectations a bit, but Brate is a low-end TE1 option in fantasy.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate tied the single-season franchise record for touchdown receptions by a tight end with eight in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Unless the Buccaneers add a tight end during the offseason, Brate looks like a low-end TE1 candidate heading into 2017.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate won't play this week

Tue, 27 Dec 2016 13:17:14 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate (back) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Luke Stocker and Brandon Myers will take over duties at tight end for the last week of the regular season. Neither can be trusted for Week 17 fantasy championships, but they're dirt cheap in daily formats. Myers is probably more trustworthy for those who want to start one.
