Falcons | Taylor Gabriel catches five passes

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 15:13:12 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Taylor Gabriel caught five passes for 44 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel has been targeted at least five times in each of the last four games and appears to have a solid role in the passing game. He has three touchdowns in the last three games and can be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Falcons | Taylor Gabriel drawing rave reviews

Tue, 29 Nov 2016 09:06:13 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Taylor Gabriel has been "great for us this year" and a "sparkplug" for the offense, according to QB Matt Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel hasn't seen more than five targets in a game all season, but it is getting harder to dismiss by the week. Over the last five weeks in PPR scoring (with his bye week included), the Cleveland Browns castoff is 13th among receivers in total fantasy points and seventh in fantasy points per game. In standard leagues, those ranks are sixth and second, respectively. Despite his consistent lack of volume, he has earned the right to be considered a flex option in all leagues at the very least.

Falcons | Taylor Gabriel scores twice

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 14:32:03 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Taylor Gabriel caught four passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12. He also rushed for 27 yards on one carry during the game.

Fantasy Tip: The Falcons have not had a great No. 2 option behind Julio Jones, but Gabriel could fill that spot after his Week 12 performance. He likely will have a solid role in the passing game moving forward and can be at least a flex option in deeper leagues.

Falcons | Taylor Gabriel makes presence felt

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 18:32:26 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Taylor Gabriel only converted one of his five touches for a catch in the Week 10 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but it was a big play. He posted a 76-yard touchdown, the team's only visit to the end zone in the loss.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel has emerged as a playmaker in the Atlanta offense, scoring in three consecutive games. He is garnering attention in TD-only leagues and some deeper fantasy formats. However, the Falcons are off in Week 11 due to a bye.

Falcons | Plays being installed for Taylor Gabriel

Fri, 04 Nov 2016 20:37:52 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Taylor Gabriel said offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan installed running plays for him before Week 8 but didn't call any until the Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel has emerged as an effective No. 3 option in the passing game for Atlanta the last two weeks. He is worth stashing in deeper formats, and he is an intriguing low-priced option in DFS games.

Sun, 04 Sep 2016 09:58:01 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel was claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Falcons Sunday, Sept. 4, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel has a chance to be the No. 3 or No. 4 receiver with the Falcons depending on his play. He likely will receive limited playing time this season and will not be a great option in most fantasy leagues.

Browns | Taylor Gabriel listed as probable

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 12:17:51 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel (non-injury) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and he is probable for the Week 16 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) hasn't caught more than four passes in a game all season and only topped 50 receiving yards in a single showing. He is a desperation start in all fantasy formats for Week 16, including at FantasyScore.

Browns | Taylor Gabriel could have played

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) was cleared from the concussion protocol last week, but he was inactive as a healthy scratch in Week 14, according to head coach Mike Pettine.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel could see more playing time when he returns to the field with Brian Hartline injured. However, Gabriel hasn't played since Nov. 15 and is unlikely to make much noise in the final three games.

Browns | Three Cleveland WRs questionable

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 16:43:46 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Travis Benjamin (shoulder), Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and Brian Hartline (hip) are listed as questionable for the Week 14 game against the San Francisco 49ers. Benjamin and Hartline were limited during practice, while Gabriel fully participated in practice.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check to see which receivers will be active for the game. Benjamin ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is the best fantasy option among the Browns receivers this season and could be a starting option if he is active. Owners probably can pass on Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Hartline ($2,000, 4.0% of cap).

Browns | Three Browns receivers limited

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 16:21:03 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Travis Benjamin (shoulder), Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and Brian Hartline (hip) were all limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) says he'll play against the San Francisco 49ers, and it's certainly a good matchup for receivers. Benjamin and Johnny Manziel have developed a deep connection when they've worked together. Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Hartline ($2,000) are both desperation sleeper picks on FantasyScore.

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (non-injury), WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) appears to be the most likely candidate to start among the three, but should not be a starting option for owners. Owners should avoid Gabriel ($2,000, 4.4% of cap) and Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap).

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 09:24:23 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) have both been ruled out for Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Travis Benjamin ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) and Gary Barnidge ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) are the only weapons you should consider from Cleveland's offense, but even they should be downgraded a bit with Austin Davis starting against the Bengals this weekend.

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 15:10:54 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0%) haven't done much even when they've been healthy this year, and now Austin Davis is starting against a top-tier defense in the Cincinnati Bengals. Avoid both receivers again this week.

Browns | Two Cleveland WRs out

Sat, 28 Nov 2015 12:49:52 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) have been ruled out for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: With Hawkins and Gabriel out, Travis Benjamin ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) and Brian Hartline ($2,000, 4.0%) will be Cleveland's top-two wide receivers. Benjamin at least is worth a start on FantasyScore; he is by far the Browns' best receiver and the Ravens have played poorly against wide receivers.

Browns | Taylor Gabriel, Andrew Hawkins sit out

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 14:13:39 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and WR Andrew Hawkins (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will have to pass their concussion tests before being cleared, so there is a good chance that they will miss the Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Gary Barnidge ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) and Travis Benjamin ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) are the only pass catchers that owners should consider from this team.

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 14:19:55 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Gabriel ($2,000, 4.0%) haven't done a whole lot this year, but Hawkins is a more reliable option. Neither should be started in seasonal leagues or on FantasyScore, though.

Browns | Andrew Hawkins, Taylor Gabriel not cleared

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 10:40:07 -0800

Cleveland Browns WRs Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Taylor Gabriel (concussion) remain in the concussion protocol.

Fantasy Tip: Now the Browns are once again unsure if Johnny Manziel or Josh McCown will start Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens. The matchup is a great one, but with Hawkins ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Gabriel ($2,000) questionable to play, you should look to avoid them everywhere.

Browns | Taylor Gabriel suffered concussion

Tue, 17 Nov 2015 09:35:12 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) suffered a concussion in the Week 10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel will have to be cleared from the league's concussion protocol before returning to the field. The good news is he has extra time to heal on the bye week. Gabriel has 26 catches for 223 yards and no touchdowns on the season, though, and he should be left on all waiver wires.

Browns | Taylor Gabriel has made team

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 15:04:19 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel has already made the team after a rookie season that saw him finish fifth in the league in yards per catch (16.7) and fourth overall in yards after the catch per reception. Gabriel has tantalizing speed and blew past CB Joe Haden in 7-on-7s Monday, Aug. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel at the moment is too far down the depth chart to be notable for fantasy owners. However, he's part of a receiving corps that doesn't have much experience, so he could easily rise if his talent shines through. He shouldn't be drafted in standard leagues, but he could become a waiver wire target if he falls into considerable playing time during the season.

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel will be the No. 3 wide receiver for Week 1 behind WRs Andrew Hawkins and Miles Austin, according to offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel likely will receive playing time Week 1 but should not be used in any leagues. Gabriel could be an option down the road if he performs well in the offense.

Cleveland Browns WR Taylor Gabriel, an undrafted rookie, was praised by general manager Ray Farmer Friday, Sept. 5. When asked which rookie he has been most impressed with, Farmer named Gabriel.

Fantasy Tip: Gabriel is still well down the depth chart and a non-fantasy factor, but if injuries decimate the position it is possible Gabriel could get more looks.
