Chicago Bears LB Lance Briggs said during an interview on Comcast SportsNet that he was disappointed when the team released DE Alex Brown, reports the Chicago Tribune. Brown was released shortly after the Bears signed DE Julius Peppers. Briggs said, "When I first heard it, I was pissed. I was hurt. I thought bringing in Peppers was one of the greatest moves that the Bears had made, and then you get rid of you know, the other side. I mean, I just saw Alex having the highest sack total he's ever had. But when I sat down and thought about it for a while, I understand the move. I don't like it, but I understand the move." Brown signed with the New Orleans Saints during the offseason.

The Chicago Bears were forced to escort New Orleans Saints DE Alex Brown out of Halas Hall Tuesday, June 22, when he stopped by to visit his former team, reports ESPNChicago.com's Michael C. Wright. A team official said NFL rules forbid players under contract to visit another team's facilities. The team official said, "We love Alex Brown. He's got friends throughout Halas Hall, but league rules don't allow us to host a player under contract at our facility. He's one of the great guys. He's one of the top-notch guys who have come through in a long time."
