Buccaneers | O.J. Howard finding a rhythm

Sun, 20 Aug 2017 19:31:04 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard showed improved chemistry with QB Jameis Winston during practice Sunday, Aug. 20, according to Mark Cook of PewterReport.com.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has loads of long-term potential, but the Buccaneers have several weapons in the passing game, including tight end Cameron Brate. Howard is a must-own option in dynasty formats, but he doesn't need to be owned in redraft leagues.

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston has solid outing

Thu, 17 Aug 2017 20:07:29 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston went 21-for-29 for 196 yards in the preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, Aug. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Winston is coming off a solid 2016 season when he is 4,090 yards and 28 touchdowns and should be able to improve on those stats. He will have new options to throw to this season in DeSean Jackson and O.J. Howard, which will help his fantasy status. He probably should be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in most leagues.

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston wearing a knee brace

Sat, 29 Jul 2017 09:11:47 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston was spotted wearing a brace on his left knee Saturday, July 29, but head coach Dirk Koetter called the move "precautionary". "He's just demo-ing it out to see how it goes. He doesn't have any injury. It's all preventative, precautionary. We'll see how it goes," Koetter said.

Fantasy Tip: It's not uncommon for quarterbacks to wear a brace on their plant knee, at least during workouts, and it sounds like that's all that is going on here. Koetter said that itís yet to be determined if Winston will wear the brace during games. Assuming he remains healthy for 16 games yet again, Winston should be viewed as a midrange to low-end QB1 in fantasy.

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston pumped to have O.J Howard

Sat, 01 Jul 2017 19:30:16 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston said TE O.J. Howard is going to do "amazing" things for the offense. "This is the fastest, most athletic 6-6, 255 guy I've ever seen in my life," Winston said Saturday, July 1. "It's unreal."

Fantasy Tip: Howard's physical tools are off the charts, but he is likely going to be involved some type of timeshare with Cameron Brate, making Howard an upside TE2 in redraft leagues.

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston off to historic start

Sun, 11 Jun 2017 20:25:14 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for more than 4,000 yards and 20-plus touchdowns in each of his first two seasons.

Fantasy Tip: Another year of experience and the additions of DeSean Jackson and O.J. Howard to the passing attack could push Winston into QB1 territory this season.

Buccaneers | Cameron Brate to remain the starter?

Sat, 10 Jun 2017 18:22:58 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate and QB Jameis Winston have a chemistry that is "going to be tough to dethrone," according to Trevor Sikkema of PetwerReport.com, and Sikkema believes Brate could make it difficult for TE O.J. Howard to be the No. 1 option at the position.

Fantasy Tip: Howard has long-term upside as a TE1 and is the preferred option in keeper leagues. However, Winston looked Brate's way a lot in the red zone last year, and his touchdown potential should allow Brate to remain a quality TE2 this season.

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston great with tight ends

Wed, 07 Jun 2017 06:50:43 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston has the fifth-best passer rating when targeting tight ends since he entered the league three years ago, according to Pro Football Focus. However, he is third-worst in the league when targeting other positions.

Fantasy Tip: The latter number isn't too surprising because the team hasn't had a lot of receiving options outside of Mike Evans, and Winston probably tried to force the ball to him sometimes. The addition of DeSean Jackson should help. Winston is in the conversation of a low-end QB1 in fantasy.

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston to move out of the pocket

Sat, 01 Apr 2017 12:51:35 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter said the team will continue to have some plays that call for QB Jameis Winston to throw outside the pocket because he had success with those plays in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Winston played well in his second season and finished with 4,090 yards and 28 touchdowns. He has thrown 33 interceptions in his first two seasons but can still be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues next season.
