Washington Redskins OG Spencer Long took more first-team snaps at left guard Wednesday, Aug. 17, than OG Shawn Lauvao (ankle, foot), but head coach Jay Gruden said Lauvao is still working himself back into shape. "You'll see more of (Lauvao) in the next couple of weeks and we'll see how he does. That's good competition," Gruden said.

Washington Redskins OG Arie Kouandjio has been rotating with the starting offensive group in spring practices with OG Spencer Long. OG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) is the starter but hasn't been healthy. Kouandjio could earn the starting nod if he improves as a blocker.

Washington Redskins OG Kory Lichtensteiger remains the starter even though head coach Jay Gruden wanted to use OG Spencer Long in order to create more options. Long will likely stick at guard and be an emergency backup at center. Long will get a chance to win the starting job in training camp, though.

Washington Redskins OL Shawn Lauvao (ankle, foot) tore multiple ligaments in his left ankle and had surgery to repair tendons in his right foot. Head coach Jay Gruden said Wednesday, March 23, that he is hopeful Lauvao can return by minicamp in June or "more likely by training camp." When he returns he'll have stiff competition for OLs Spencer Long and Arie Kouandjio.

Washington Redskins S Trenton Robinson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 11 against the Carolina Panthers. DT Terrance Knighton (head) and LB Keenan Robinson (shoulder) are questionable, while DT Chris Z. Baker (ankle, rib), CB Bashaud Breeland (hamstring), CB Chris Culliver (knee), S Dashon Goldson (wrist, hamstring), CB DeAngelo Hall (toe), DE Jason Hatcher (knee), LB Ryan Kerrigan (hand), OG Josh LeRibeus (elbow, shoulder), OG Spencer Long (hip), WR Andre Roberts (ankle) and OT Brandon Scherff (thigh) are probable. Trenton Robinson didn't practice Friday, Nov. 20. Culliver, Hall, Knighton and Keenan Robinson were limited, while the others practiced in full. CB Will Blackmon (non-injury) was removed from the report.
