Dodgers | Mike Bolsinger demoted

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 16:02:13 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger was optioned to the minor leagues Friday, July 31.

Fantasy Tip: With the additions of Alex Wood and Mat Latos, Bolsinger was bumped from the rotation. Bolsinger can be dropped in the majority of leagues, but he is also likely the next man up, if there is an injury to the Los Angeles rotation.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw sits, Bolsinger to start

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 09:40:52 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw (hip) was scratched Wednesday, July 29, with SP Mike Bolsinger set to take the start against the Oakland Athletics. Kershaw will pitch either Saturday, Aug. 1, or Sunday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Bolsinger ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has a 2.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP this month and makes a great SP2 on FantasyScore tonight.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw may be scratched

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 09:16:09 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw (hip) could be scratched from his start Wednesday, July 29, against the Oakland Athletics due to soreness in the hip and gluteus region. SP Mike Bolsinger would be pushed up to start in Kershaw's place, and Kershaw could start Friday, July 31.

Fantasy Tip: It's a good matchup whichever gets the ball tonight. Kershaw ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) is probably at too high of a price to consider, though, because it's tough to build a lineup around him on FantasyScore. Bolsinger ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) would make a nice SP2, though.

Dodgers | Mike Bolsinger goes seven strong

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:16:52 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger pitched seven innings Wednesday, July 22, against the Atlanta Braves. Bolsinger allowed three hits and a run with a walk and four strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Bolsinger ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has allowed two or fewer runs in each of his past three starts but this was his longest outing since he pitched seven innings June 8, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bolsinger has a relatively low ceiling, but he's proven to be a safe FantasyScore play more often than not.

Dodgers | Mike Bolsinger striking out more hitters

Mon, 13 Jul 2015 15:09:50 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger has a 10.01 K/9 mark over his past six starts. It is the sixth highest strikeout rate among qualified starters over the past 30 days. However, he has only reached the sixth inning in one of those outings and has a 4.55 ERA during the stretch.

Fantasy Tip: Through his first seven starts, Bolsinger ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) had a 2.08 ERA with 36 punchouts over 43 1/3 innings. Fantasy owners would trade the strikeouts for a better ERA and more innings, so Bolsinger is a bit of a tough case to figure currently. Being selective with who you start him against is advised in all formats going forward, especially at FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Mike Bolsinger leaves start

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 22:18:37 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger (illness) left his start Monday, June 29, against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to flu-like symptoms.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players will likely want to see Bolsinger ($4,300; or 8.6% of cap) return and prove his stamina and strength is back before trusting him again.

Dodgers | Mike Bolsinger strong in win

Sat, 23 May 2015 22:04:11 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger pitched eight innings of one-hit baseball Saturday, May 23, against the San Diego Padres. He struck out eight batters and did not yield a run, making him a winner of three straight starts.

Fantasy Tip: Bolsinger ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has been a fantasy rock star in his last two starts, going 14 scoreless innings with as many K's. His spot in the rotation as the fifth starter is looking more secure with every passing inning, and he's now worth an add in mixed leagues. Expect his FantasyScore price to increase before his next start, which should come Wednesday, May 27, against the Atlanta Braves.

Dodgers | Mike Bolsinger strong once again

Mon, 18 May 2015 04:25:12 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger picked up the victory Sunday, May 17, in a 1-0 shutout of the Colorado Rockies. Bolsinger has allowed just two earned runs in 17 1/3 innings.

Fantasy Tip: The risk/reward start for Bolsinger turned into a reward situation. Bolsinger looks like a solid start for most daily league participants, although you would hope the Dodgers give him a little more run support to work with in the future.

Dodgers | Mike Bolsinger to start again Sunday

Wed, 13 May 2015 14:38:44 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger will see another start Sunday, May 17, according to manager Don Mattingly.

Fantasy Tip: Bolsinger ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has allowed just one earned run in each of his two starts this year, and he's 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA this season as a rotation fill-in. If he keeps this up, he could stick for a while. At home against the Colorado Rockies this Sunday, he'll be a risk/reward play at FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Mike Bolsinger starting Tuesday

Tue, 12 May 2015 09:15:05 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger is being called up from Class AAA Oklahoma City (Okla.) to make his second spot start of the season against the Miami Marlins Tuesday, May 12. Bolsinger gave up just a run and five hits in six innings in a no-decision against the San Francisco Giants April 23.

Fantasy Tip: Bolsinger will be a very cheap starting pitcher at FantasyScore tonight, if you feel like taking the leap to save money elsewhere. It's a big risk, though, despite his solid results in his first start this year against the Giants.
