Blue Jays | Devon Travis won't be out long

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 09:51:44 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) is expected to be out two weeks after missing a month with a shoulder injury earlier this year.

Fantasy Tip: That's music to Travis' ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) owners' ears, and it's definitely reason to hang onto him in all leagues, especially since he's likely to return to the leadoff role in a revamped Toronto lineup when he's healthy. Ryan Goins will take over for Travis in the meantime, but he only has value in the deepest of leagues and isn't attractive in daily formats.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis put on DL

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 09:27:02 -0700

Updating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) was placed on the disabled list Friday, July 31.

Fantasy Tip: It's Travis' second DL trip for the same shoulder. It's unclear how much time he'll miss this time around, but be patient and stash him in all leagues for now. Ryan Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) will see the bulk of the starts at second base in Travis' absence, but Goins is a weak fantasy option only for those in the deepest of leagues if you're desperate for middle infield help.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis likely heading to DL

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 09:19:35 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) will likely land on the disabled list Friday, July 31, according to manager John Gibbons.

Fantasy Tip: It's an unfortunate break for Travis owners, as he was just getting ready to move back into the leadoff spot permanently after Jose Reyes was traded away. There's no timetable for how long Travis will be out, but hold onto him in all leagues for now. Ryan Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) will be the starting second baseman in the meantime, but he has little fantasy value because of his weak bat, and he should mainly be avoided on FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis receives injection

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 14:51:37 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) received a cortisone shot in his shoulder Wednesday, July 29, according to manager John Gibbons. Travis will rest and be re-evaluated Friday, July 31.

Fantasy Tip: Travis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) could wind up back on the DL for this shoulder problem. Make plans to be without him in a worst-case scenario, but keep him stashed in all formats. Ryan Goins isn't much of a fantasy replacement, aside from the deepest of AL-only leagues if you need middle infield help.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis remains out

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 14:15:25 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) remains out of the lineup Thursday, July 30. 2B Ryan Goins is starting at second base and is batting ninth against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy.

Fantasy Tip: Travis may need to go back on the disabled list after reinjuring the same shoulder that cost him a DL stint earlier this year. He deserves to be held onto in all leagues. Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is a light-hitting utility infielder with no offensive upside, making him a pick to avoid in daily games.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis headed back to DL?

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 16:24:38 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) could be headed back to the disabled list, although an MRI exam showed no significant damage in his strained left shoulder Wednesday, July 29. The Blue Jays won't make a move with him until Thursday, July 30. "It's similar to the last time, a strain in that area," said manager John Gibbons. "He'll take it easy and get all his treatment and then we'll probably have a little better idea (Thursday)." 2B Ryan Goins is expected to continue filling in at second base with Travis out.

Fantasy Tip: It's a shame for Travis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) owners, since he homered in his first game back in the leadoff spot after the trade of Jose Reyes. Stash Travis in all leagues. Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is a weak second base option at FantasyScore and should only be picked up in the short term in AL-only leagues if you are desperate for help in the middle infield.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis will not start

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 13:53:15 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerome Williams Wednesday, July 29. 2B Ryan Goins will start at second base and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye out on Travis' ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) status to see when he will be able to play again. Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has received limited playing time this month and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis injures shoulder

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 17:07:11 -0700

Updating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) left the game Tuesday, July 28, against the Philadelphia Phillies due to left shoulder irritation.

Fantasy Tip: Travis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has been fantastic for FantasyScore players when healthy, but he has had some trouble staying healthy for long periods of time. Avoid him until he can officially return and prove his health in two full games without any lingering effects of his injury.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis leaves early

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 17:06:43 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (undisclosed) left the game Tuesday, July 28, against the Philadelphia Phillies due to an undisclosed injury. He was checked by a trainer before leaving.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players will want to avoid the brittle Travis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) until he can officially return and prove his health in two full games without any setback. Danny Valencia ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) slid over from center field to second base, with Ezequiel Carrera ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) entering the game.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis leading off

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:18:42 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis is batting first in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan Tuesday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: Travis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) likely will remain in the No. 1 spot for now with the team trading Jose Reyes. He is hitting .364 with seven RBI this month and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.
