Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, June 21, and is in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Tanner Roark. He is batting seventh in the lineup. The team also optioned P Carlos Frias to Class AAA Oklahoma City.

Fantasy Tip: Puig is hitting .237 with five home runs and 20 RBI so far this season but did perform well during his rehab assignment. Owners may want to see him play in a game, but he should still be a starting candidate in most leagues.

Dodgers | Carlos Frias may start Friday

Mon, 20 Jun 2016 17:29:47 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Carlos Frias is an option to start Friday, June 24, according to manager Dave Roberts. He had a bullpen session Monday, June 20, which is not normal for relievers.

Fantasy Tip: Even if he does pick up the assignment, there will be no need to rush to the waiver wire for his services, as the 24-year-old was 4-4 with a 4.42 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 13 starts last season. He doesn't have a high ceiling, though he might have potential to earn some work in NL-only leagues at some point.

Dodgers | Three LAD pitchers vying for No. 5 spot

Sun, 27 Mar 2016 07:35:54 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SPs Zach Lee and Carlos Frias are considered to be the two primary candidates to win the No. 5 spot in the starting rotation, with SP Ross Stripling also likely to be in the running for the job.

Fantasy Tip: As far as owners in NL-only and dynasty leagues are concerned, Lee has the most potential to succeed in this role due to his four-pitch repertoire and ability to induce ground balls. However, none of these pitchers are worth drafting in most fantasy formats because their time in the rotation would likely be short-lived, with five starters (Brett Anderson, Mike Bolsinger, Brandon McCarthy, Frankie Montas and Hyun-Jin Ryu) currently battling injuries.
