New York Giants SS Nat Berhe said he started talking with FS Antrel Rolle soon after the draft. "We talked on Twitter a little bit," Berhe said. "He reached out to me, we kept in contact and we've been talking. If I have a question, I go to him. Just trying to get in and get close. "He's the kind of guy you look to a lot to try to figure out how things are done."

The New York Giants signed SS Nat Berhe Friday, May 16. Per NFL rules, all rookie contracts are four-year deals. Financial terms were undisclosed.

New York Giants SS Nat Berhe said he takes pride in being ruthless on the football field. "I just play with a lot of emotion, a lot of anger," Berhe said. "I try to take people's heads off. That's what I do and I think that is how the safety position is supposed to be played." Berhe was projected as a strong safety or free safety, but could move inside as a Nickel cornerback if needed.

Washington State SS Deone Bucannon, Vanderbilt FS Kenny Ladler and Michigan State SS Isaiah Lewis each posted jumps of 36 1/2 inches in the vertical at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 25. San Diego State SS Nat Berhe and Wyoming FS Marqueston Huff were 35 1/2 inches, North Carolina SS Tre Boston posted 35 inches, Louisville FS Calvin Pryor was 34 1/2 inches and USC SS Dion Bailey and University of Minnesota FS Brock Vereen had jumps of 34 inches.

Western Kentucky SS Jonathan Dowling posted a jump of 33 1/2 inches, Alabama FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had a jump of 33 inches while Louisiana State SS Craig Loston and Stanford FS Ed Reynolds managed jumps of 32 1/2 inches. Baylor SS Ahmad Dixon and Brigham Young FS Daniel Sorensen managed jumps of 32 inches.

University of Minnesota FS Brock Vereen posted 25 reps of 225 pounds in the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 25, leading all safeties. Vanderbilt FS Kenny Ladler had 24 reps, Washington State SS Deone Bucannon had 19 reps, while North Carolina SS Tre Boston, Louisville FS Calvin Pryor and Alabama SS Vinnie Sunseri each posted 18 reps. San Diego State SS Nat Berhe, Wyoming FS Marqueston Huff, Michigan State SS Isaiah Lewis and Stanford FS Ed Reynolds each managed 15 reps, while Baylor SS Ahmad Dixon had 14 reps. Brigham Young FS Daniel Sorenson posted 13 reps, Louisiana State SS Craig Loston had 12 reps and Alabama FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix posted 11 reps. Florida State FS Terrence Brooks posted 10 reps, SS Jimmie Ward had nine reps and Western Kentucky SS Jonathan Dowling rounded out the group with eight reps.

NFL | Nat Berhe takes pride in motor

San Diego State SS Nat Berhe is a bit undersized, but he doesn't feel that will be a problem since he likes to hit and made plenty of tackles in college. "Football is a game of leverage and I play with great leverage. I stay low. I was able to play five yard in the box and make a ton of plays. Getting off guards and tackles has never been an issue for me," Berhe said at the NFL Scouting Combine.

University of Minnesota FS Brock Vereen posted an official 40-yard dash time of 4.47 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 25. Washington State SS Deone Bucannon and Wyoming FS Marqueston Huff had times of 4.49 seconds, Western Kentucky SS Jonathan Dowling was at 4.52 seconds, Utah State SS Mo Alexander was 4.54 seconds, Stanford FS Ed Reynolds was 4.57 seconds, Louisville FS Calvin Pryor was 4.58 seconds, North Carolina SS Tre Boston was 4.59 seconds, Michigan State SS Isaiah Lewis was 4.60 seconds, Baylor SS Ahmad Dixon was 4.64 seconds, Louisiana State SS Craig Loston was 4.65 seconds, USC SS Dion Bailey was 4.66 seconds, Brigham Young FS Daniel Sorensen was 4.67 seconds, Vanderbilt FS Kenny Ladler was at 4.70 seconds and San Diego State SS Nat Berhe rounded out the safeties with a time of 4.71 seconds.
