Jaguars | Allen Hurns finds the end zone

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 21:05:13 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns managed two receptions for 29 yards with a touchdown on three targets in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 20, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns had a breakout performance in 2015, reaching double digits in touchdowns. The thinking is Hurns has a slight backslide this season, but he should still be counted upon as a low-end WR2 in most fantasy formats, higher if Allen Robinson suffers some sort of long-term injury and Hurns becomes the top dog.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns back at practice

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 07:46:24 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (knee) returned to practice Thursday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns performed through a myriad of injuries in his breakout season last year. There could be some regression from his 10 touchdowns, but he should remain heavily involved. He ranks in as a low-end WR2 in fantasy.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns misses practice

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 12:31:50 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Aug. 17, because of a knee injury.

Fantasy Tip: The severity of Hurns' injury is not known at this point, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. He likely will receive a solid amount of targets this season and can be a low-end No. 2 or a high-end No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns to move around

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 14:36:47 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns will receive playing time as a slot receiver in addition to lining up as an outside receiver, according to wide receivers coach Jerry Sullivan.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns likely would receive more favorable matchups if he lines up as a slot receiver in 2016, which would help his fantasy value. He recorded 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015 and should be a middle-round option in all fantasy leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns is allergic to grass

Thu, 09 Jun 2016 10:19:16 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns is allergic to grass, which is why he wears long sleeves and tries to cover as much of his body as possible. Hurns said he found out about his grass allergy in high school. Hurns said he doesn't experience breathing problems. His nose doesn't get stuffy or runny either. He has skin breakouts that vary in degrees. Some days they're barely there. Other days he said he has to take a medication after practice or games if it's a severe breakout.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns isn't affected by it on the field, so it's more of a quirky tidbit than anything notable. Hurns is coming off a 64-1,031-10 breakout and is a low-end WR2 or a high-end WR3 in fantasy.

Jaguars | More on Allen Hurns' deal

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 08:10:58 -0700

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns' four-year, $40 million deal includes $16 million fully guaranteed at signing. The remaining $4 million guarantee becomes fully guaranteed the third day of free agency in 2018.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns seemed like he was on the injury report every week last season, but he still delivered a 64-1,031-10 breakout year. He's a low-end WR2 or a high-end WR3 in fantasy this season.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns agrees to extension

Thu, 02 Jun 2016 14:34:26 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns agreed to a four-year extension worth more than $40 million Thursday, June 2, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns earned big money last year racking up over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns. He's better suited for standard leagues, though, and is a low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 consideration in such formats with Allen Robinson and Julius Thomas also likely to see plenty of targets. The Jaguars will also ideally run more in 2016 with T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory, which could drop Hurns' fantasy value a little bit, too.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns limited in OTAs

Mon, 23 May 2016 09:52:19 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (hernia) was limited during organized team activities Monday, May 23, due to a sports hernia.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns had surgery for his hernia in January and should be good to go full bore for training camp this summer. He had a breakout season with 64 catches for over 1,000 yards and 10 scores despite playing injured down the stretch. In an emerging offense with Blake Bortles at the helm, Hurns has a chance to top his numbers from a season ago and is in the WR2 picture.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns feeling confident

Sat, 09 Apr 2016 18:40:26 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns said he and WR Allen Robinson are the best receiver tandem in the NFL and are only going to improve.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson enters the 2016 season as a borderline WR1. Hurns could creep into WR2 range, but he is better suited as a strong WR3.
