Broncos | Bennie Fowler has fracture

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 11:18:44 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Bennie Fowler (elbow) has a small fracture in his elbow and will be sidelined a few weeks, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Fantasy Tip: Fowler is competing for the No. 3 wide receiver position in Denver, although Cody Latimer probably has the edge for that spot. Fowler has little fantasy value right now, but one can do worse than giving him a look in later rounds as a flier.

Broncos | Several WRs get their chance to shine

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 20:27:45 -0700

Denver Broncos WRs Bennie Fowler, Cody Latimer, Jordan Norwood and Jordan Taylor each had their chance to make an impression Wednesday, June 8, as they bid to become the third wide receiver behind veteran WRs Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas. Sanders and Thomas were rested, opening up first-team reps.

Fantasy Tip: Unofficially, Fowler might be the favorite, as he came up with some big plays down the stretch and in the postseason in 2015. However, it's a completely open battle. The winner of the No. 3 job will be a useful WR4/5 or flex option in standard fantasy formats.

Broncos | Denver has two No. 3 WR candidates

Fri, 27 May 2016 14:22:16 -0700

Denver Broncos WRs Cody Latimer and Bennie Fowler are expected to compete for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp. Latimer has performed well during offseason workouts during the last few seasons but has not recorded great numbers during the regular season. Fowler had a decent role in the passing game in 2015 but injuries and inconsistency dropped him on the depth chart.

Fantasy Tip: Fowler has posted better numbers during his career, but Latimer was drafted higher and has performed well during offseason workouts. The Broncos probably will decide the winner of the competition at some point during the preseason, but the winner likely would only be a late-round option in most leagues.

Broncos | Bennie Fowler staying with Denver

Fri, 15 Apr 2016 13:40:04 -0700

Denver Broncos exclusive rights free-agent WR Bennie Fowler signed his tender offer Friday, April 15. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Fowler could compete for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp and will have a role in the passing game in 2016. Fowler will be a risky option in fantasy drafts next season since the Broncos' quarterback situation is uncertain at this point.

Broncos | Bennie Fowler might be a sleeper

Tue, 19 Jan 2016 18:56:47 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Bennie Fowler posted two grabs for 35 yards in the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, and now he'll meet the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

Fantasy Tip: Sure, two grabs for 35 yards isn't impressive, but he had a season-high four targets. Fowler ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) could meet FantasyScore salary expectations, while also freeing you up to afford a stud or two at other positions. When the slate is limited such as Championship Week, players like Fowler unexpectedly stepping up are the kind of guys who make a difference between winning and losing, not your studs doing what they're supposed to.
