Cardinals | John Brown won't rush return

Tue, 15 Aug 2017 19:29:09 -0700

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (quad) ran a few routes in practice Tuesday, Aug. 15, but vows not to come back to a full practice before he is completely healthy. Brown added he could play Saturday, Aug. 19, against the Chicago Bears, "but I won't be at my best."

Fantasy Tip: Brown's comments were in response to head coach Bruce Arians' remarks that Brown was ready to practice. The oft-injured wideout has high-end WR3 upside, but his durability remains a huge question mark, making him more of a WR4.

Cardinals | John Brown will have full practice

Tue, 15 Aug 2017 12:01:16 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (quadriceps) will be full go in practice Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Brown has had his fair share of health concerns in his young career, so it's encouraging that he'll be a full participant again. Brown is somewhat of an under-the-radar sleeper and is a worthwhile WR3 or WR4 option as Arizona's go-to deep threat.

Cardinals | John Brown to return soon

Sun, 06 Aug 2017 17:05:10 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (quadriceps) is expected to return to practice Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Brown battled injuries throughout last season, but if he can stay healthy, he should be the No. 2 option in the Arizona passing attack. Consider him a WR3 with upside.

Cardinals | John Brown could miss up to a week

Fri, 28 Jul 2017 13:01:51 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (quad) is expected to miss a few days and perhaps may be a week with a quad injury, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: Brown was enjoying a great spring and summer up until this point, so this takes a little bit of air out of his balloon. Expect the Cardinals to take it very slowly with him considering his injury history, which includes some of the soft-tissue variety, as Arizona desperately needs him to take some pressure off of David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. Assuming he can come back healthy in short order, he remains a high-upside WR3 in fantasy.

Cardinals | John Brown packing on muscle

Sun, 23 Jul 2017 10:22:02 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown checked into the team's first practice of the season at 185 pounds, up 12 pounds from last season.

Fantasy Tip: "Smokey" hasn't lost any of his blazing speed, according to observers, and appears primed to put his forgettable 2016 - in which he learned he was dealing with sickle cell trait and had a cyst on his spine - behind him. Brown is an excellent candidate to return high-end WR3 value at a WR4 price this season with Michael Floyd gone and Carson Palmer reportedly feeling strong again.

Cardinals | John Brown ready for big season?

Sat, 15 Jul 2017 21:31:18 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown will be the main beneficiary of the departure of Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd, according to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo! Sports. Floyd accounted for 88 targets for the Cardinals last season.

Fantasy Tip: Brown was a 1,000-yard receiver in 2015, and now that he is healthy and the No. 2 option behind Larry Fitzgerald, WR3 protection is a good bet.

Cardinals | John Brown dealing with injuries

Wed, 07 Jun 2017 13:10:28 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring injury, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: Brown could miss the rest of offseason workouts because of the injury but likely will be ready for the start of training camp. Brown struggled with injuries in 2016 and finished with only 517 yards and two touchdowns. He should be a top three receiver for the Cardinals this season and can be considered a No. 3 receiver.

Cardinals | John Brown back to old self

Sat, 03 Jun 2017 20:38:05 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown is back to running routes like he did in 2015, according to head coach Bruce Arians. "A couple of those routes he ran, he did not run one route like that last year," Arians said. "Knock on wood, it stays that way."

Fantasy Tip: Health issues derailed Brown last year, but he topped 1,000 yards in 2015. He should be a key component of Arizona's passing attack this year, and he is worth grabbing as a WR3.

Cardinals | John Brown had cyst removed

Thu, 04 May 2017 14:03:53 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (back) had a cyst removed from his spine following the final game of last season. Brown had been dealing with a sickle cell trait last season and his production suffered because of it. After the cyst was removed, though, he was back to normal. Brown said his body has been feeling better and he's back in his normal routine and back to being himself.

Fantasy Tip: Brown is one of the better deep threats in the NFL when he's on the field. He's set to start opposite Larry Fitzgerald in 2017 with Michael Floyd out of the picture. He's capable of putting up WR2 numbers, too, as he tallied 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games two seasons ago.

Sun, 02 Apr 2017 15:59:44 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (illness) has been working out twice a day and has not dealt with any symptoms related to his sickle cell trait, according to head coach Bruce Arians.
