Cardinals | John Brown dealing with injuries

Wed, 07 Jun 2017 13:10:28 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring injury, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: Brown could miss the rest of offseason workouts because of the injury but likely will be ready for the start of training camp. Brown struggled with injuries in 2016 and finished with only 517 yards and two touchdowns. He should be a top three receiver for the Cardinals this season and can be considered a No. 3 receiver.

Cardinals | John Brown back to old self

Sat, 03 Jun 2017 20:38:05 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown is back to running routes like he did in 2015, according to head coach Bruce Arians. "A couple of those routes he ran, he did not run one route like that last year," Arians said. "Knock on wood, it stays that way."

Fantasy Tip: Health issues derailed Brown last year, but he topped 1,000 yards in 2015. He should be a key component of Arizona's passing attack this year, and he is worth grabbing as a WR3.

Cardinals | John Brown had cyst removed

Thu, 04 May 2017 14:03:53 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (back) had a cyst removed from his spine following the final game of last season. Brown had been dealing with a sickle cell trait last season and his production suffered because of it. After the cyst was removed, though, he was back to normal. Brown said his body has been feeling better and he's back in his normal routine and back to being himself.

Fantasy Tip: Brown is one of the better deep threats in the NFL when he's on the field. He's set to start opposite Larry Fitzgerald in 2017 with Michael Floyd out of the picture. He's capable of putting up WR2 numbers, too, as he tallied 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games two seasons ago.

Cardinals | John Brown now very healthy, says owner

Tue, 14 Feb 2017 20:04:20 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (illness) is now "very healthy," according to team president and owner Michael Bidwill, who also said that it "looks like they found the issue" regarding the sickle cell problem the receiver was dealing with this past season. Bidwill added: "We'll get (Brown) back the way we had him."

Fantasy Tip: That would be terrific news for the Cardinals and fantasy owners, as Brown regressed mightily after a breakout 2015 campaign that saw him register his first career 1,000-yard season. In 2016, Brown managed only 39 receptions for 517 yards and a pair of scores, but that had more to do with the sickle cell issue than anything else. With a clean bill of health, Brown could easily be a nice buy-low candidate and re-emerge to deliver solid WR3 value.

Cardinals | John Brown questionable vs. Seahawks

Fri, 23 Dec 2016 13:31:46 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (illness) was limited in practice for the third straight day Friday, Dec. 23, and is being listed as questionable for the team's Week 16 game versus the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Brown is coming off his first notable performance in weeks, thanks to an uptick in snaps, but even so, it's hard to trust him as anything more than a WR4 with fantasy championships at stake. Only owners in deeper formats should consider deploying him this weekend.
