Cardinals | John Brown's snaps will be limited

Mon, 05 Dec 2016 15:09:36 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (illness) will have his snaps limited to about 20 per game until the Cardinals can maintain Brown's sickle cell trait.

Fantasy Tip: A player can still put up a respectable stat line in just 20 snaps, but it's best to refrain from starting Brown until he's full go. In the meantime, Larry Fitzgerald, David Johnson, Michael Floyd and J.J. Nelson should split most of Brown's targets.

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (illness) is officially active for the team's Week 13 game.

Fantasy Tip: Brown has been dealing with issues surrounding his sickle cell trait, so it is not known if he will see limited snaps against the Washington Redskins. He has not posted great numbers this season and can be passed over in most fantasy leagues.

Cardinals | John Brown being monitored in practice

Sat, 03 Dec 2016 21:17:44 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (illness) is having the number of snaps he practices in a row carefully monitored due to sickle-cell related issues with cramping, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: A 1,000-yard receiver last year, Brown has struggled with sickle-cell trait this season that has severely limited his production. He's listed as questionable for Sunday and has no appeal even if he's up on game day.

Cardinals | John Brown to see specialists

Wed, 30 Nov 2016 05:43:59 -0800

Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (hamstring) will see multiple specialists this week due to the sickle-cell trait continuously causing his legs to tighten. "That's the one that's so baffling," head coach Bruce Arians said. "It's not really a pull. Whatever the blood issue he has the legs tighten up."

Fantasy Tip: Brown has really struggled amid his health issues, and he's not a viable option in fantasy for now.

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 14:07:47 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown caught one pass for 19 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12.

Cardinals | John Brown out of game

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 12:52:54 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury Sunday, Nov. 27, against the Atlanta Falcons. He is out of the game.

Fantasy Tip: On most depth charts Brown is listed as a WR2 behind Larry Fitzgerald, so Brown definitely gets his share of targets and catches. Brown eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in his second season and has 30 catches and 380 yards in 2016, so to lose him would be a major fall for Arizona. Look for J.J. Nelson (18 catches, 243 yards, 2 TDs) to possibly step into a bigger role if Brown misses time.
