Dolphins | Kenyan Drake may go on short-term IR

Sun, 21 Aug 2016 08:40:11 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake (hamstring) may be a candidate for the short-term Injured Reserve list if the team wants to keep RBs Isaiah Pead and Damien Williams on the 53-man roster. Drake has missed most of training camp because of a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Drake was expected to have a decent role on offense when he was drafted but the addition of Arian Foster and his injury likely have affected the team's plans for him. He could still be a late-round option in deeper point-per-reception leagues if he is healthy but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Dolphins | Damien Williams nearing return

Mon, 01 Aug 2016 20:36:09 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (undisclosed) is expected to come off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list Tuesday, Aug. 2, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Fantasy Tip: Williams is battling for the No. 3 or 4 job on the depth chart. With Jay Ajayi and Arian Foster to suck up a lion's share of the carries, and rookie Kenyan Drake in the mix, Williams isn't a great fantasy option even if he makes the final roster.

Dolphins | Damien Williams out of shape

Fri, 29 Jul 2016 15:09:14 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (undisclosed) reported to training camp out of shape and is not ready to practice. Head coach Adam Gase is upset with Williams because he was out of shape during offseason workouts as well.

Fantasy Tip: Williams probably will be the No. 4 running back this season but may receive a chance to win the No. 3 job if he performs well during the preseason. He likely will receive limited playing time no matter where he is on the depth chart and will not be a strong option.

Dolphins | Damien Williams is hardest hit

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 19:00:48 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams was the hardest hit by the addition of RB Arian Foster, as Williams slips from No. 2 to likely No. 3 on the depth chart with the potential to not even make the team unless they keep four backs. That's because RB Kenyan Drake figures to be No. 3 on the depth chart even if Williams is kept.

Fantasy Tip: The team invested a high pick on Drake, and he isn't going anywhere. Williams will be behind Jay Ajayi and Arian Foster, and could potentially be headed to another organization at this point. His fantasy outlook is very murky at this point.

Dolphins | Damien Williams hasn't had chance

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 23:27:09 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (undisclosed) has been sidelined during minicamp due to an undisclosed injury. Williams appears to be behind RB Kenyan Drake in the race for the backup job behind RB Jay Ajayi. Offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen said he has been unable to judge Williams due to his injury.

Fantasy Tip: Williams appears to be slotted as the No. 3 running back right now, although that is still subject to change with training camp and the preseason ahead. For now, he isn't worth drafting, but stay tuned as a lot could change once he gets healthy.

Dolphins | Coaches like Damien Williams

Tue, 24 May 2016 21:12:21 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams appears to be the frontrunner for the No. 3 running back job in 2016 because the coaching staff likes him. Williams is expected to be pushed by RB Daniel Thomas for the job during training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Williams rushed for only 59 yards in 2015 but did catch 21 passes for 142 yards out of the backfield. Williams likely will have a similar role in 2016 if he makes the team. Williams may have some value in point-per-reception leagues but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Dolphins | Lamar Miller can't explain benching

Mon, 21 Dec 2015 10:59:25 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller said he does not know why he received only two carries in the second half of the team's Week 15 game against the San Diego Chargers. Miller said he is frustrated with his role because he believes he can help the team win. Interim head coach Dan Campbell said the team believed they would receive more mileage from RBs Jay Ajayi and Damien Williams in the second half.

Fantasy Tip: Miller should still receive a majority of the work in the final two games of the season since he leads the team's running backs in running and receiving yards. Owners will need to monitor the situation since Miller's value will drop if he loses touches to the other running backs. Owners could consider using Miller in their lineups but may want to look for more productive options.
