The Atlanta Falcons have moved OT Jake Matthews to left tackle because of the season-ending injury to OT Sam Baker (knee). Matthews said he is comfortable playing either tackle spot.

Atlanta Falcons OT Jake Matthews made his debut in the preseason opener Friday, Aug. 8, against the Miami Dolphins. He was called for two penalties in 19 snaps, including a holding penalty which negated a 76-yard touchdown run by RB Antone Smith. His other penalty was an illegal use of hands.

Atlanta Falcons OT Jake Matthews has impressed QB Matt Ryan during training camp. "I think Jake, his size and he's very strong, very athletic," Ryan said Tuesday, July 29. "And he's smart. I think that's a great combination. When you talk about a guy who is drafted early and is going to be a cornerstone of the organization for a long time to come, it's a great combination to have."
