Oakland Raiders DE Khalil Mack was recently compared to former New York Giants LB Lawrence Taylor by Cleveland Browns OT Joe Thomas. The Browns face the Raiders in Week 3. "I never played against LT, so maybe I'm blowing smoke, but I've seen him play and dominate and to me they're comparable types," Thomas said. "They're both 6-2, 250-ish, lift a house, run a 4.3, destroy people at will. Just look back to what (Mack) did in college. It's amazing he wasn't the No. 1 pick." Mack started all 16 games as a rookie last year and had 84 tackles, four sacks, four passes defensed and a forced fumble. This year he has only four tackles and no sacks in two games as a defensive end in a new scheme.

Oakland Raiders LB Khalil Mack will be influenced by new head coach Jack Del Rio and defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. Mack had an outstanding rookie season in 2014, and his combination of raw speed and power has Norton excited to work with the youngster. "I've been very, very impressed," Norton said of Mack. "One thing I have with my linebackers at Seattle, we do a great job of just watching other players across the league to see what they do well. See the type of things that I can help them coach and get themselves better and just see what is going on. Khalil Mack is a guy, with Bruce Irvin and the rest of my SAM linebackers, guys on the strong side, just watched his explosion, his speed, his combination of size and his strength."
