Ravens | Terrance West totals 14 touches

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 21:53:40 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West ran 12 times for just 32 yards in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, and he added two receptions for six yards. He split the tailback touches with RB Justin Forsett, who ran 10 times for 41 yards while adding three receptions for 15 yards.

Fantasy Tip: A RBBC, or running back by committee approach, is the worst nightmare for fantasy owners. It's uncertain who will emerge as the bellcow in this offense, and both basically turned in the same type of productive. For fantasy purposes, avoid both until a clear-cut starter emerges.

Ravens | Baltimore confirms RB committee

Thu, 08 Sep 2016 21:55:25 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett, RB Terrance West and RB Javorius Allen will all see playing time at some point against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, offensive coordinator Marc Trestman said Thursday, Sept. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Baltimore's backfield is a nightmare for fantasy owners, and the situation will only become worse when Kenneth Dixon returns from injury. Forsett is probably the best bet to lead the way for now, but West, Allen and Dixon are worth stashing in case one emerges as the lead back.

Ravens | Baltimore set for committee backfield?

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 10:23:51 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett is still in line to be the starting running back, in the opinion of ESPN's Jamison Hensley, but RBs Javorius Allen and Kenneth Dixon project to share third-down work with RB Terrance West serving as a short-yardage back in the red zone.

Fantasy Tip: As an undersized journeyman, Forsett's reign atop the depth chart could be short lived, and the potential of a multi-faceted rushing attack isn't ideal for his fantasy stock. West presents nice value as a late-round flier in standard and touchdown-heavy settings, whereas Allen presents similar potential in PPR leagues. Dixon is likely the most talented back of the quartet, but expect him to have to bide his time for an opportunity in 2016. The rookie is nothing more than a stash option at this point.

Ravens | Terrance West leaves game briefly

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 19:17:34 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West (finger) left the preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts in the first half due to a jammed finger, but he was able to return later.

Fantasy Tip: West scored a pair of touchdowns in the preseason opener, but wasn't as prolific against Indy. He outperformed Buck Allen again, and held serve against Kenneth Dixon, too. West is looking good for the No. 2 tailback job behind Justin Forsett, but nothing is settled yet. The former Towson standout is only worth a late-round pick in most standard fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Terrance West scores a pair

Thu, 11 Aug 2016 20:32:39 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West ran nine times for 25 yards and two touchdowns and added one catch for seven yards in a 22-19 win over the Carolina Panthers in the preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 11.

Fantasy Tip: West has been making some noise during training camp, and he is worth a gamble as a RB4 in case he can wrestle the starting role away from Justin Forsett.

Ravens | Terrance West thrust into starting scope

Thu, 04 Aug 2016 08:02:10 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West has put himself in position to compete for the starting running back spot with an electric camp, in the opinion of beat writer Jamison Hensley.

Fantasy Tip: West would have to leapfrog Javorius Allen and Justin Forsett, and there's a lot of training camp to go. It seems a bit premature, but West could be entering the RB4 realm in fantasy.

Ravens | Terrance West explosive

Tue, 02 Aug 2016 08:31:58 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West has been the team's most explosive player thus far in camp, according to beat writer Jeff Zrebiec. West is finding holes and breaking long runs in camp.

Fantasy Tip: West is battling several backs for the final running back spot on the roster, and it's clear he has an early lead. However, he'll need to win a slot with more upside for usage than the team's RB4. He's in the RB5 conversation in fantasy, but he has work to do.

Ravens | Mixed results for Terrance West

Sat, 30 Jul 2016 17:33:31 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West broke a few big runs during practice Friday, July 29, but he upset head coach John Harbaugh when he missed some assignments in pass protection.

Fantasy Tip: Baltimore's backfield is a crowded mess at this point, and West is nothing more than a late-round lottery ticket.

Ravens | Justin Forsett expects to be bell cow

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 19:01:41 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett expects to hang onto the starting job and do the bulk of the work at the running back position ahead of RBs Javorius Allen, Kenneth Dixon, Lorenzo Taliaferro and Terrance West. The team also has RB Trent Richardson (knee) competing for a roster spot. While Forsett might be optimistic, he is 31 and the team is leaning toward reducing his carries.

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens are very deep at the running back position, but Forsett plans on being the bell cow and it's hard to bet against him. However, it is a good idea to nab Buck Allen as a handcuff just to be on the safe side.

Ravens | Justin Forsett the lead back

Tue, 12 Jul 2016 14:33:36 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett is still the "clear lead dog" in the Ravens' backfield, according to Ryan Mink of baltimoreravens.com. The starting job is Forsett's to lose, with RBs Javorius Allen, Kenneth Dixon, Lorenzo Taliaferro, Terrance West and Trent Richardson lurking behind him.

Fantasy Tip: Baltimore is deep at running back, but Forsett is a proven success and should be the lead back as long as he's healthy. Allen and Dixon are probably the most likely to compete for playing time, and both are worth late-round picks in traditional fantasy leagues. Forsett has more value in PPR leagues and should be viewed as an RB3 in such formats.
