Giants | Odell Beckham still improving

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 07:35:34 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has been uncoverable in practice, and teammates believe he could have an even better season in 2016 because he was suspended one game and hurt for parts of two others last season.

Fantasy Tip: OBJ had a 96-1,450-13 masterpiece last year, and he's one of the most explosive players in the league. He still has a ways to go to prove his durability. Beckham is an elite WR1, and it's certainly possible there is more in the tank. However, with his robust rewards comes a fragment of risk.

Giants | Odell Beckham misses practice again

Thu, 04 Aug 2016 17:16:13 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (leg) missed his third straight practice Thursday, August 4.

Fantasy Tip: Although he's been sidelined for a few practices now, owners need not be worried about Beckham when the regular season starts. He'll be fine in plenty of time for the opener, and should be one of the top receivers in all of fantasy once again this year.

Giants | Odell Beckham could practice Thursday

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 10:45:54 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (leg) is progressing and could return to practice as early as Thursday, Aug. 4, according to head coach Ben McAdoo. Beckham worked on the side for a second consecutive day because of a leg injury Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham is an elite talent and fantasy asset. He should be one of the first players off the board in all drafts, and there is a case for Beckham to be the first overall pick. Check back for updates on his status, but at this point, there's no reason to downgrade him from being a top-tier receiver.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (leg) continues to sit and watch practice, as he is "tender" and dealing with "some swelling," according to head coach Ben McAdoo. He worked on the side with the strength and conditioning coach.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham's injury is not considered serious, and he has plenty of time to return for the regular season. He is a top-flight WR1 in all fantasy formats.

Giants | Odell Beckham out Tuesday

Tue, 02 Aug 2016 08:24:31 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (leg) is out of practice Tuesday, Aug. 2, due to soreness from cuts on his left leg. The soreness is in his ankle area, and he could miss more time this week.

Fantasy Tip: OBJ had a stellar 93-1,450-13 season last year and quieted many of the injury concerns he had entering the league two years ago. He's one of the best players in fantasy as a WR1, and the minor injury shouldn't affect him.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (foot) was cleated, has a cut or two and will be sore for a couple of days, according to head coach Ben McAdoo.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry working on footwork

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 18:12:35 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has been working out with Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown and New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. in order to develop the footwork and feel to play outside receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Playing on the outside more often could lead to some big plays for Landry, but he should be a solid WR2 even if he remains in the slot and a borderline WR1 in PPR leagues.

Giants | Odell Beckham not at OTAs

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 09:33:23 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. is not present for organized team activities Wednesday, June 1. Head coach Ben McAdoo said the team was aware of the absence and are expecting him back later in the week.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham can skip a few offseason workouts because the offense should be similar with McAdoo as head coach. Beckham is one of the best receivers in the NFL and should be selected in one of the first two rounds of drafts.

Giants | Sterling Shepard in position to star

Mon, 09 May 2016 22:10:31 -0700

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard is in the best position of all of the team's draft picks to make a significant impact. Head coach Ben McAdoo sees Shepard as a player he can use all over the formation in a variety of roles as a complement to WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Fantasy Tip: Shepard might be a nice late-round flier on draft day, and perhaps earlier if he makes an immediate splash in training camp and the preseason. Just be sure to have plenty of depth at the position on your roster just in case he is slow to transition from college to the pros.

Giants | QB says Odell Beckham can improve

Mon, 11 Apr 2016 15:55:54 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has played well over the last few seasons but has things he can work on and improve his game, according to QB Eli Manning. "We move him around in a lot of different spots, and he's required to know a lot of different routes and different techniques," Manning said. "But that's the way he's going to get a lot of balls and get himself in position to do a lot of good things."

Fantasy Tip: Beckham should receive a lot of targets this season since he is the most consistent receiver for Manning. Beckham should be one of the first receivers selected in all drafts and will be a weekly starting option for owners.

Giants | Ezekiel Elliott would love to be a Giant

Sat, 02 Apr 2016 19:17:38 -0700

Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott said the New York Giants would be a great landing spot for him in the 2016 NFL Draft, and he believes he, QB Eli Manning and WR Odell Beckham Jr. would form a "three-headed monster" that would contend for a championship early.

Fantasy Tip: The Giants have several running backs, but Elliott would instantly become the most complete back on their roster. Regardless of where he lands, Elliott has RB2 upside as a rookie.

Giants | Eli Manning talks Odell Beckham

Thu, 18 Feb 2016 16:14:47 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has matured emotionally overall, according to QB Eli Manning. Manning said Beckham was better last season as far as controlling his emotions, adding that the game versus the Carolina Panthers and CB Josh Norman was the exception. Manning said Beckham knows he made a mistake and learned from it, but doesn't believe it will be a future problem.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham's antics against the Panthers were nothing short of juvenile. Nonetheless, he's arguably the most valuable wide receiver in the NFL and in fantasy football and should be one of the first receivers taken in fantasy drafts this summer.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. finished with five catches for 54 yards in a 35-30 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17.

Giants | Odell Beckham returning in Week 17

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 12:05:19 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will return from his one-game suspension to play in the Week 17 finale against the Philadelphia Eagles. Beckham said he won't change the way he plays after his suspension, but that he has learned from the experience.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to put Beckham ($8,700, 17.4% of cap) back into your starting lineups if you have a championship on the line in Week 17. Pairing Beckham with Eli Manning ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) is a winning strategy on FantasyScore against the crumbling Eagles.

Giants | Hakeem Nicks ready to step up

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 21:55:18 -0800

New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks said he is ready to fill the void created by the one-game suspension to WR Odell Beckham Jr. in Week 16. "I look it as a great opportunity, and when opportunity knocks on the door, you've got to answer it."

Fantasy Tip: The Vikings have a solid secondary, but for the minimum price at FantasyScore, Nicks ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) could be worth a flier in an expanded role.

Giants | Odell Beckham's suspension stands

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 14:27:52 -0800

Updating previous reports, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-game suspension was upheld Wednesday, Dec. 23. He will not play against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: A bit of a surprise, but nonetheless you should have already made plans to be without Beckham in your title matchups. Eli Manning ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) should be downgraded in all formats, but Rueben Randle ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) now becomes a great value play on FantasyScore against the Vikes.

Giants | Odell Beckham's suspension to be upheld?

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 13:45:07 -0800

Contrary to a previous report, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-game suspension is still expected to be upheld, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: Schefter is a lot more credible than Lawrence Tynes or Ron Jaworksi, who reported earlier that the suspension had been overturned. Look for an official announcement later, but plan to be without Beckham this weekend.

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 10:08:27 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-game suspension was reportedly overturned Wednesday, Dec. 23, according to former Giants PK Lawrence Tynes.

Fantasy Tip: There has been no official announcement yet. OBJ ($8,700, 17.4% of cap) would be a WR1 consideration on FantasyScore against the Minnesota Vikings if this report holds.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will have his one-game suspension appeal hearing Wednesday, Dec. 23. A decision is expected quickly after the hearing.

Giants | Odell Beckham suspended

Mon, 21 Dec 2015 13:01:50 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended for one game following his actions in Week 15. Beckham will appeal the suspension.

Fantasy Tip: This is still a waiting game with Beckham predictably appealing the suspension. If the suspension is upheld, Rueben Randle and Dwayne Harris would have greatly increased value against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16. Stay tuned to this situation in the coming days.

Mon, 21 Dec 2015 05:55:21 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. is likely to be suspended one game by the NFL for his conduct on the field Sunday, Dec. 20, according to league sources.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham had two personal foul penalties and launched himself helmet-to-helmet at Carolina Panthers CB Josh Norman. If he's suspended, he could appeal and not miss the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 16:52:07 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. caught six passes for 76 yards and a touchdown in a 38-35 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham was shut down and frustrated for most of the game by Josh Norman, but he made a few big catches late to salvage a solid game. He has now found the end zone at least once in five straight games and should be entrenched as a WR1 at FantasyScore.

Giants | Odell Beckham Jr. to work from slot?

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 18:24:48 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. could run more routes from the slot against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15 in order to avoid being covered by CB Josh Norman, who has remained on the perimeter even when opposing No. 1 receivers have lined up in the slot.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like the Giants may try to find creative ways to free up Beckham ($8,700, 17.4% of cap), but the Panthers could always counter by moving Norman, and Beckham remains a risky play at FantasyScore at his high price tag with one of the top corners in the game lurking.

Giants | Odell Beckham Jr. facing Josh Norman

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 07:10:52 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will match up against Carolina Panthers CB Josh Norman in Week 15, and Giants QB Eli Manning said the team would have to be smart about how they throw to Beckham. "Norman is taking the No. 1 receiver out of a lot of games so we have to be smart about how we get Odell the ball," Manning said.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,700, 17.4% of cap) is an extreme risk as the fifth-highest salary on FantasyScore this week considering how good Norman has been against elite receivers this year.

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 22:33:48 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. posted seven receptions for 166 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins Monday, Dec. 14. He was targeted nine times. He has six straight 100-yard games to set a team record.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham was battling a cold and went to the locker room for intravenous fluids to start the third quarter as he was cramping up. Wow. He missed a drive and still had a giant performance for the Giants. It will be interesting to see if he can keep it up against the unbeaten Carolina Panthers in Week 15.

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 19:37:24 -0800

Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (illness) returned to the Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins Monday, Dec. 14, after missing one offensive drive.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham had intravenous fluids for cramping, and he has been dealing with a cold. He is back on the field looking to add to his three grabs for 63 yards.

Giants | Odell Beckham dealing with cramps

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 19:20:27 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (cramps) left before the third quarter of the Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins Monday, Dec. 14, due to cramping. He went to the locker room for intravenous fluids and the team said he will return.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham posted three receptions for 63 yards in the first half, including a big 45-yard grab. He is on pace for 100 yards, but he has been dealing with a cold, too, so we'll see how effective he is after his IV.

Giants | Odell Beckham at elite level

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 14:55:42 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has the most receptions (169) in 25 games in NFL history, and he has only played 24 games in his young career. Beckham's receiving yards (2,459) also rank highest through 24 games in league history. His 22 receiving touchdowns through 24 games are tied for fourth-most through 25 career games. In those 24 career games, Beckham is averaging seven catches, 102 yards and nearly one touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham has certainly taken the league by storm since missing the first few games of his rookie year last season. He's turned into one of the most valuable fantasy football commodities in less than two seasons. As long as he's healthy, he'll be worth a first-round selection next offseason.

Giants | Another big outing for ODB

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 19:50:21 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. posted six receptions for a game-high 149 yards and a 72-yard touchdown in the Week 13 game against the New York Jets. He was targeted 11 times. Beckham has 100 yards or more in five straight games, becoming the first Giants player since Homer Jones in 1967-68 to accomplish the feat.

Fantasy Tip: Another game, another big stat line for Beckham. He remains a must-start fantasy option heading into Week 14 against a poor Miami Dolphins pass defense on Monday Night Football.

Giants | Odell Beckham Jr. to avoid Revis

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 09:51:18 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will not be opposed by New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis (concussion) in Week 13 as Revis was downgraded to out Friday, Dec. 4.

Fantasy Tip: ODB ($8,700, 17.4% of cap) is a weekly WR1 consideration on FantasyScore, and Revis' absence gives him a little more upside.

Jets | Antonio Cromartie may have tough assignment

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 09:29:59 -0800

New York Jets CB Antonio Cromartie may be matched up with New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. in Week 13 if both CBs Darrelle Revis (concussion) and Marcus Williams (knee) can't play. CB Buster Skrine could also be called on to match up against Beckham.

Giants | Odell Beckham to face Revis?

Tue, 01 Dec 2015 11:18:24 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to face New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis (concussion) in Week 13 if Revis is healthy enough to return to action. Revis has struggled this year and would be outmatched by Beckham if he plays, in the opinion of the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta. "He was never an overly athletic or fast guy," said one scout about Revis. "At some point, you had to know it was going to catch up with him." Revis has been visibly slower this year and has been adequate against middling receivers, but he's been exposed against the elite pass catchers.

Fantasy Tip: Don't be scared away from Beckham on FantasyScore just because of the potential matchup against a fading Revis. Revis might not even play in this game after all. The Jets as a team are just outside the top 10 in fantasy PPR matchups for receivers, so Beckham should be pretty safe for the price in Week 13.

Giants | Odell Beckham outstanding in Week 12

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 13:57:40 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. caught nine passes for 142 yards and one touchdown in the team's Week 12 game against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham has posted at least 100 yards in each of his last four games and has five touchdowns in that span. Beckham will be playing against a solid New York Jets secondary in Week 13 but should be a starting option no matter the opponent.

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 21:53:46 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. and his teammates return from a bye to face the Washington Redskins in Week 12. He posted seven grabs for 79 yards and a touchdown in the first meeting with Washington back in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,600, 17.2% of cap) enters the game with at least 104 receiving yards in each of his past three outings, and he has four touchdowns during the span. Look for ODB to post a fourth straight 100-yard performance with another foray into the end zone.

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 17:31:23 -0800

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has been doing more things with his left hands because he believes it will help his coordination. He said he already has increased feel in both hands and can feel comfortable running with the ball in his left hand. Beckham said he is looking to become ambidextrous.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,500, 17.0% of cap) has made some great one-handed catches with his right hand and is looking to become better with his left hand. He is coming off back-to-back 100 yards games and should be a solid starting option against the New England Patriots this week.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) finally looked 100 percent after a couple of subpar games due to his hamstring injury. He obviously is safe to use in FantasyScore again.

Thu, 29 Oct 2015 15:09:51 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) is a safe play on FantasyScore for Week 8 against a mediocre New Orleans Saints pass defense that has surrendered 165 receiving yards per game to wide receivers.

Wed, 28 Oct 2015 12:04:18 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) was somewhat hampered last week to the tune of four catches for 35 yards. If he's not at full health, it sounds like he's close to it. He'll take a good chunk out of your FantasyScore salary, but he's worth it.

Giants | Odell Beckham feeling better

Tue, 27 Oct 2015 06:37:39 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) said his injured hamstring is starting to feel better.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham is coming off a game where he recorded only four catches and 35 yards. He has been targeted at least eight times in six of his seven games this season and should be able to make more big plays when he is over the hamstring injury. Beckham should be a weekly starting option for owners on FantasyScore.

Giants | New York offense has been shut down

Mon, 26 Oct 2015 14:35:52 -0700

New York Giants QB Eli Manning has thrown for less than 200 yards in each of the last two games with one passing touchdown and two interceptions, and he and WR Odell Beckham Jr. have been shut out for large stretches of time. Beckham has seen many double coverages in the last two games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, but he believes the Giants will break out soon. Beckham had only four catches for 35 yards in Week 7 against the Cowboys. Beckham also hasn't practiced much in the last two weeks due to a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the lack of production from Beckham and Manning of late, Beckham remains an explosive fantasy weapon at wideout. The Giants travel to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 8, too. The Saints have been generous to opposing QBs and receivers mostly all year, so both Manning and Beckham would make a fine stack on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) has been dealing with the injury over the last several weeks but has been able to play. Beckham should be a starting fantasy option no matter who the Giants are playing.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys, but head coach Tom Coughlin said he expects Beckham to play.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) hasn't practiced all week but plans to go through the walkthrough tomorrow and play on Sunday. It'll help him avoid any setbacks, and he should be good to go against Dallas. As long as he's on the field, he'll be a pretty solid daily pick for FantasyScore gamers.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) said he will practice Saturday, Oct. 24, and play in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys, which is the same program he was on last week.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) went for seven catches (eight targets) and 61 yards and a touchdown last week while not being at 100%, so it stands to reason that he should be fine to choose for daily gamers again this weekend against Dallas.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) probably is receiving a little time off after being able to play in Week 6. He has caught at least five passes in every game this season and has caught one touchdown in four of his last five games. Beckham should be a starting option in every league even though he is facing a tough Dallas Cowboys defense.

Giants | Odell Beckham comes out fine

Tue, 20 Oct 2015 08:10:20 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) came out of the Week 6 game Monday, Oct. 19, without re-injuring his hamstring after playing in 66 of the 68 offensive plays. Beckham had seven catches for 61 yards and a touchdown in the first half and had one target in the second half. Beckham admitted he wasn't 100%.

Fantasy Tip: ODB ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) faces a tough matchup against a stingy Dallas Cowboys defense in Week 7, but he's always a WR1 candidate on FantasyScore.

Giants | Odell Beckham tails off in loss

Mon, 19 Oct 2015 22:20:03 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) was active early in the Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he finished with seven receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) scored on the opening drive and his hamstring looked fine. However, as the game went on the offense bogged down and ODB was never heard from again. It's uncertain if his hamstring was holding him back or the Eagles defense just did that good of a job eliminating him, but FantasyScore players were likely disappointed that a hot start didn't turn into a giant night.
