Eagles | Jordan Matthews questionable

Fri, 09 Dec 2016 08:01:26 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) is questionable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews shouldn't be much of a question to suit up against the Washington Redskins. Matthews has a decent matchup, but he has been pretty underwhelming. He's a WR3 in PPR formats.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews practices

Thu, 08 Dec 2016 12:47:06 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews should receive his normal workload against the Washington Redskins in Week 14 despite the injury. He has been a pretty consistent player for owners this season and should be a No. 3 receiver in a majority of fantasy leagues.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews limited

Wed, 07 Dec 2016 12:57:18 -0800

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews appears to be on track to play in Week 14, but owners will need to check on his status later in the week. He has been targeted at least 10 times in four of his last five games and should continue to be a solid part of the passing game. He can be a No. 3 receiver in all fantasy league.

Wed, 07 Dec 2016 07:58:15 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) will practice Wednesday, Dec. 7, and he's expected to play in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has a meager 57-686-3 line on the season, but he'll be a WR3 option against the Washington Redskins.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews expected back soon

Mon, 05 Dec 2016 09:52:53 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) should return to practice Wednesday, Dec. 7, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Fantasy Tip: On a day in which Carson Wentz completed 36 passes, receivers accounted for only 14 catches. The Eagles' top receiver in its blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals was undrafted rookie free agent Paul Turner, which should provide plenty of insight into the current state of the position in Philadelphia. Turner would be a desperation play at best in Week 14 against the Washington Redskins should Matthews not play, but it appears as if he'll have a shot. Matthews will be a low-end WR3 for that game if he can go.

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 08:50:18 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 13's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews was only able to practice on a limited basis Thursday, Dec. 1, and had been listed as questionable on the injury report. TE Zach Ertz and WR Dorial Green-Beckham are likely to see the biggest increases in fantasy value due to Matthews' absence.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews expected to sit Sunday

Sat, 03 Dec 2016 23:08:30 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) is not expected to play in the team's Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: This is the direction things were trending, so it's not a big surprise Matthews couldn't bounce back on a short week. His loss hurts an already suspect Eagles passing game, though it should give a little extra juice to Zach Ertz and Dorial Green-Beckham.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews trending downward?

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 11:58:21 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) will be a true game-time decision in Week 13 versus the Cincinnati Bengals after not practicing Friday, Dec. 2, and the Eagles are reportedly "far less confident" in his availability than they were earlier in the week, according to NJ.com's Eliot Shorr-Parks.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles have perhaps the worst receiving corps in the league with Matthews, so they'll probably wait as long as possible before ruling him out - assuming they do. Zach Ertz would likely get peppered with targets if Matthews sits, while Dorial Green-Beckham would probably step up into the lead receiver role. Bryce Treggs and Nelson Agholor could also play minor roles as well, although both would not be worth using in fantasy.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews questionable

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 08:08:24 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) is questionable for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews will probably suit up, but his upside has been pretty minimal for most of the season with just three touchdowns. The Cincinnati Bengals are a midrange matchup, and he's a WR3 in PPR.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews limited

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 12:44:44 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews appears to be on track to play in Week 13 and should receive his usual playing time. He has been targeted at least 10 times in four of his last five games and should continue to be a top target in the passing game. He can be a No. 3 receiver in most leagues.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews sits

Wed, 30 Nov 2016 09:21:01 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) will not practice Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has had two big games this season, and he has been pretty average otherwise. He faces a tough matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he probably falls into the WR3 area in PPR leagues.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews expected to suit up Week 13

Tue, 29 Nov 2016 09:21:10 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) has been diagnosed with an ankle sprain after undergoing an MRI on Tuesday, Nov. 29, but he is expected to be fine to play in Week 13 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Dorial Green-Beckham and Bryce Treggs served as Carson Wentz's top receivers after his departure and did little after Matthews left. The third-year pro finished with four catches for 47 yards despite suffering the injury in the second quarter and playing one series in the second half, so his final line could have been much bigger. He is by far the Eagles' best and most trusted receiver and the only one worth a start in fantasy. Matthews has settled into a WR3 this season and should be treated as such versus the Bengals.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews to have MRI

Tue, 29 Nov 2016 06:07:04 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) will have an MRI on his ankle, but the team isn't concerned that it's a bad sprain.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews had a meager four catches for 47 yards in Week 12. His Week 13 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals isn't a great one, and he's little more than a WR3 this week.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews limps to 47 yards

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 20:52:54 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) posted four receptions for 47 yards in the Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers on his four targets Monday, Nov. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews was on and off the field with a first-half ankle injury, and he was limping noticeably in the second half even though he was able to play. He'll be a player to watch heading into Week 13 at Cincinnati, as he is likely to be on the injury report.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews checks back in

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 18:43:30 -0800

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) returned to the Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers to start the second half.

Fantasy Tip: Apparently his X-rays checked out fine. Matthews is the top receiving threat, so not only should his fantasy owners be happy, but those starting Carson Wentz should be smiling, too.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews goes for X-rays

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 18:40:23 -0800

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) suffered a right ankle injury late in the second quarter of the Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers Monday, Nov. 28. He went for X-rays, and his return is considered questionable.

Fantasy Tip: If J-Matt is forced to miss any time it would be Zach Ertz, Dorial Green-Beckham, Bryce Treggs and Darren Sproles seeing more targets in the passing game.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews gimpy after grab

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 18:32:19 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (leg) suffered an apparent lower leg injury making an awkward reception late in the second quarter of the Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers Monday, Nov. 28. He limped off, wincing in pain and was being worked on by trainers.

Fantasy Tip: The source and severity of J-Matt's injury is not known. When details emerge we'll pass them along to you.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews to play outside more

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 07:32:07 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews will play outside receiving spots more Monday, Nov. 28, against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has been a serviceable WR3, but his 53-639-3 line leaves much to be desired. He has a good matchup against the Packers and is worthy of a WR2 play this week.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews has mediocre line

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 22:52:44 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews posted five receptions for a team-high 59 yards on 10 targets in the Week 11 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews didn't do much against a solid pass defense, so that's no real surprise. He will look to bounce back in Week 12 and he could be a low-end WR2 against the injury-depleted Green Bay Packers.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews active

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 12:18:17 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) is officially active for the team's Week 11 game.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews should see his normal workload this week and will be targeted often in the passing game. He will be facing a terrific Seattle Seahawks defense but can still be a No. 3 receiver.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews should play in Seattle

Sat, 19 Nov 2016 22:46:13 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) is expected to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: Even with Matthews set to take the field, there's obvious risk that his back will tighten up and leave him unable to finish the game. If you have other viable options, strongly consider using them. If not, roll Matthews out there and hope he doesn't have a setback.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews gets in full practice

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 11:21:34 -0800

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) has been listed as questionable on the Week 11 injury report, but he returned to a full practice Friday, Nov. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Because Matthews is dealing with a back issue, his Week 11 status is a bit tricky, which is probably why the team chose to bring practice-squad receiver Paul Turner with them to Seattle. If Matthews is active, he needs to be in most fantasy lineups based on recent volume. Slot receivers have experienced some success recently against the Seahawks, although it is hard to get excited about any player in the Eagles' low-upside passing attack.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews questionable

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 07:36:22 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) is listed as questionable for Week 11. Matthews injured his back in the weight room Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles are bringing practice-squad receiver Paul Turner to Seattle in case Matthews can't go. That is an ominous sign, but if Matthews plays, he needs to be in your lineup. He has received double-digit targets in three straight games, and Seattle hasn't bottled up receivers like they have in the past. Matthews is a solid WR2.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews limited

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 12:24:52 -0800

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews should be able to play in Week 11 despite the injury. He has recorded at least 65 yards in each of the last three games and would receive a solid amount of targets if he plays. He should be considered a No. 3 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews on the field

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 09:16:09 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) is participating in practice Thursday, Nov. 17.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Matthews is on track to play this week, but owners should check on his status later in the week. He has caught at least six passes in each of the last three games and has recorded at least 65 yards in five of the last six games. He should be a fine No. 2 or No. 3 receiver for fantasy owners.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews out of practice

Wed, 16 Nov 2016 08:04:27 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) is out of practice due to back spasms Wednesday, Nov. 16. His status for Week 11 is not in question, though.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has been solid, yet unspectacular this season. He has received double-digit targets in three straight games, but his three touchdowns on the season have limited his ceiling. He's a low-end WR2 in PPR formats right now. The Eagles face the Seattle Seahawks this week, and while the matchup doesn't seem positive on paper, the Seahawks have allowed a ton of passing yards the last five games. Don't let the name deter you this week if Matthews is a full-go.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews leads the way

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 18:28:38 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews posted six receptions for a team-high 73 yards on 10 targets in the Week 10 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has been targeted 10 or more times in three straight games, and he has hauled in six receptions in each of the outings. He remains a decent WR3 in most fantasy formats heading into Week 11 in Seattle.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews targeted 10 times

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 16:37:29 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews posted six receptions for 88 yards on 10 targets in the Week 9 game against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: J-Matt has posted 17 receptions for 153 yards and a score over the past two games, re-emerging as a useful low-end WR2 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. He should enjoy another solid game in Week 10 against a leaky Atlanta Falcons pass defense.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews active vs. Dallas

Sun, 30 Oct 2016 16:26:46 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) is active for the Week 8 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews will be facing a Dallas pass defense which ranks in the bottom third of the NFL. He is a solid WR2 in all fantasy formats.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews ready to play

Fri, 28 Oct 2016 14:19:32 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) fully participated in practice and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has been a solid option for the Eagles' passing game this season and has recorded at least 65 yards in four of the six games this season. He should be considered a No. 3 receiver or a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews takes part in practice

Thu, 27 Oct 2016 12:02:56 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews should receive his normal workload this week and likely will receive a solid amount of targets in the game. He is coming off a disappointing Week 7 performance but should still be a No. 3 receiver for fantasy owners.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews limited

Wed, 26 Oct 2016 12:48:23 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews should have a good chance to play this week even though he is dealing with the injury. He is coming off a disappointing 10-yard performance in his last game but has been a solid option in the passing game this season. Owners in most leagues should consider him a No. 3 receiver.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews practices in full

Fri, 21 Oct 2016 12:50:36 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was a full participant at practice Friday, Oct. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Despite dealing with knee tendinitis, Matthews was able to log his second straight full session at practice, which should ensure that he'll be good to go for the team's Week 7 tilt. Unfortunately, it won't be an easy matchup, as Matthews must oppose Minnesota's excellent defense. Even so, he can still be fired up as a fine WR3.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 20.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews limited Wednesday

Wed, 19 Oct 2016 11:56:24 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check on Matthews' status later in the week to see if he will be able to play in Week 7. He has been a solid part of the team's passing game and should be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in most leagues if he plays.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews battling tendinitis

Mon, 17 Oct 2016 11:32:36 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) is dealing with a case of knee tendinitis, but he missed only missed four snaps in a Week 6 loss to the Washington Redskins and is expected to practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Mathews could miss a practice here and there going forward, but this doesn't appear to be a major issue moving forward. Of bigger concern is his production since going off for seven catches, 114 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. Since that outburst, Matthews has 15 receptions for 230 yards and a score in the four games since. He is settling in as a WR3 and should be treated as such for now.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews strong in loss

Sun, 16 Oct 2016 13:59:43 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews caught three passes for 75 yards Sunday, Oct. 16, in a 27-20 loss to the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews had solid numbers despite no scores, and it's clear that he is one of Carson Wentz's favorite targets. Keep him as a WR2 or WR3 in most leagues, as he is not solid enough to lead your receiving corps just yet.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews leads the way

Sun, 09 Oct 2016 17:28:04 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews posted four receptions for 65 yards in the Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions on his four targets.

Fantasy Tip: J-Matt has been a serviceable low-end WR2 in most fantasy formats. He will face the Washington Redskins in Week 6. He had nine receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown on 16 targets in two games against the Redskins last season.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews hauls in six balls

Mon, 19 Sep 2016 21:45:09 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews managed six receptions for 71 yards in the Week 2 game against the Chicago Bears Monday, Sept. 19. However he also dropped a 35-yard touchdown earlier in the game, and he is tied for the NFL lead with the most drops through two weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews is a talented player, but he has an issue with drops which seems to keep him from taking that next step to stardom and fantasy sainthood. He remains a solid low-end WR2 heading into Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews shining on Monday nights

Fri, 16 Sep 2016 11:40:44 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews has recorded 23 receptions for 299 yards (99.7 ypg) combined over his last three games on Monday Night Football. He's also scored a pair of receiving touchdowns over that span.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews was simply a target machine in Week 1, seeing 14 balls come his way from rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, en route to registering seven receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown. All signs point to him having another successful outing in Week 2 opposite a leaky Bears pass defense that was taken advantage of by DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller in the opener.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews connects with Carson Wentz

Wed, 14 Sep 2016 06:00:12 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews has a rapport with QB Carson Wentz, and the two connected seven times for 114 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. One 28-yard gain occurred after Wentz changed the pass protection at the line of scrimmage and Matthews adjusted his route accordingly.

Fantasy Tip: That type of synergy can lead to big things on the field. The duo just needs to stay healthy. Matthews is a solid WR2 against the Chicago Bears in Week 2, while Wentz still needs to show more to creep into the low-end QB1 area.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews to work inside and outside

Fri, 09 Sep 2016 07:43:15 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews will run inside and outside in his route trees this season, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Fantasy Tip: It was reported in the offseason that Matthews would strictly be a slot receiver. However, the personnel likely haven't exuded the confidence in Pederson for that plan of attack to be efficient. Matthews is a solid WR2 against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews returns

Mon, 29 Aug 2016 07:46:51 -0700

Eagles | Jordan Matthews promises to play Week 1

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 17:15:21 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) promised he'd be ready for Week 1. The wideout hasn't played yet this preseason.

Fantasy Tip: Owners are understandably concerned that Matthews might not be ready for the start of the season, but this proclamation from the 24-year-old should put those concerns at an ease. Matthews sounds very confident about being ready for Week 1, so it appears that will be the case more likely than not. After barely missing out on 1,000 receiving yards a year ago, Matthews is a solid bet to top that plateau in the upcoming campaign. It's also worth noting that he hasn't missed a single game in his first two seasons.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews not practicing

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 09:16:13 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews should garner a large percentage of targets in the Philadelphia offense, and he's flashed plenty of fantasy upside through his first two seasons. He should be ready for Week 1, and the third-year receiver checks out as a viable No. 3 wide receiver in the majority of fantasy settings.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews should play Week 1

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 08:00:15 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) should be ready for the start of the regular season, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Matthews is considered day-to-day, but Pederson is not sure if Matthews will practice this week.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews could play in the third preseason game, but the Eagles may also decide to keep him out until Week 1. He should be one of the main targets in the passing game when he is healthy and can be a No. 2 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews injury update

Mon, 08 Aug 2016 14:35:05 -0700

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) is expected to miss two to four weeks because of a bone bruise in his knee, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews probably will miss most of the preseason because of the injury but should be ready for the start of the regular season. He has posted back-to-back seasons to begin his career and should be able to improve on his numbers. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in most leagues.

Mon, 08 Aug 2016 07:59:09 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) will miss a few weeks, but head coach Doug Pederson said the team is hopeful Matthews will return for the third preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews' absence isn't too big of a deal since starters rarely play much in the first two preseason games anyway. He remains a high-end WR2 in fantasy.
