Bills | Jordan Matthews placed on IR

Tue, 05 Dec 2017 13:17:11 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews' season to forget mercifully comes to a conclusion. He hasn't been able to stay healthy and didn't produce much when he was healthy. For the rest of the season, Zay Jones and Deonte Thompson have the most relevance in Buffalo's receiving corps, but they shouldn't be started on playoff squads.

Bills | Jordan Matthews makes one grab

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 17:11:22 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews had just one catch for 14 yards on two targets in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has been a bust in Buffalo, and his fantasy outlook only gets worse now that the team acquired Kelvin Benjamin. Charles Clay is also back from a lengthy injury, so look for Matthews to get worse, not better. He can be safely dropped outside of the deepest fantasy leagues.

Bills | Jordan Matthews quiet in loss

Thu, 02 Nov 2017 21:55:37 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews had six receptions for 46 yards (7.7 yards per catch) against the New York Jets in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Make it four straight games of fewer than eight yards per catch for Matthews, who hasn't had the kind of impact the Bills hoped for. It's possible the arrival of Kelvin Benjamin will open up room for Matthews to operate, but until he actually puts up some decent numbers in a game he should remain glued to your bench.

Bills | Jordan Matthews limited to 21 yards

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 14:46:51 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews posted three receptions for 21 yards in Week 8 against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has really struggled in his time in Buffalo so far, posting just seven grabs for 41 yards over his past three outings. At this point he is best used as a low-end WR4 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams. The Bills travel to face the Jets in Week 9 on Thursday. Matthews had a season-high 61 yards in Week 1 against New York.

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) is expected to play in Week 7's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will be wearing a special glove to protect his right thumb.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews was listed as questionable on the injury report and was a full practice participant Friday, Oct. 20, after being a limited participant in the team's two earlier sessions during the week. Given the matchup, he's worthy of consideration as a WR3 or flex option in deeper fantasy leagues.

Bills | Jordan Matthews practices fully Friday

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 11:11:45 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) was able to practice in full Friday, Oct. 20, and is listed as questionable on the team's Week 7 injury report.

Fantasy Tip: With Charles Clay out indefinitely and no one else besides LeSean McCoy and Nick O'Leary seemingly capable of soaking up targets, Matthews could surprise in fantasy this week if he plays given the matchup. Still, considering the low-volume nature of the Buffalo passing game, Matthews asked to be considered no more than a low-end WR3 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bills | Jordan Matthews listed as limited

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 12:40:17 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews appears to have a chance to play in Week 7 and probably will be a game-time decision. He probably would be a starter for the Bills if he plays, but his injury could affect his ability to catch the ball. Owners may want to use Matthews a flex option or could bench him if they have better options.

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) has not participated in as many team drills as the team would have liked this week, according to head coach Sean McDermott. McDermott said the team will see how Matthews looks during practice Friday, Oct. 20, before deciding on his Week 7 status.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews could be a game-time decision for Week 7, so owners should continue to monitor the situation. He probably will be a starter for the Bills if he is able to play but may be a flex option in deeper leagues this week.

Bills | Jordan Matthews practicing

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 09:20:24 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) is practicing Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews isn't a lock as a starting option in fantasy against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If you need to cover multiple bye weeks, maybe, but the upside isn't real high until we see the rust is knocked off.

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 13:35:50 -0700

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) was cleared to practice Wednesday, Oct. 18, and he was limited as expected.

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 10:37:37 -0700

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) told reporters he has yet to catch a pass with his right hand since undergoing thumb surgery earlier this month. He noted he has been working with tennis balls instead.

Fantasy Tip: Earlier in the day, head coach Sean McDermott called Matthews "day-to-day," but that appears to be a stretch. As such, it is highly unlikely he'll be ready to take advantage of a favorable matchup versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7.

Bills | Jordan Matthews targeted five times

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 14:58:39 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews posted three grabs for 61 yards on five targets in Week 3 against the Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Slowly, but surely, Matthews is starting develop a rapport with Tyrod Taylor. He has been targeted 11 times through three games while posting eight receptions for 152 yards. He has a ways to go before he is a fantasy regular again, but he isn't a terrible WR4 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 4 at Atlanta.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said he is happy with WR Jordan Matthews, WR Zay Jones and the rest of the receiving corps.

Fantasy Tip: Through two games, Matthews is leading the team in receiving with just 91 yards. The Bills are a run-first team to the extreme, and none of Buffalo's receivers are worth starting in Week 3 against the stingy secondary of the Denver Broncos.
