Titans | Antonio Andrews in lead for No. 3 RB job

Fri, 26 Aug 2016 14:12:34 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews has a slight edge on RBs David Cobb and Bishop Sankey for the No. 3 running back job in part because of his special teams play, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Whoever wins the job likely will not receive much playing time behind DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry this season, so the winner will not have much fantasy value. Murray should be a considered a No. 2 running back in most leagues, while Henry can be a No. 3 or No. 4 back.

Titans | Antonio Andrews returns

Thu, 04 Aug 2016 08:00:41 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday, Aug. 4.

Fantasy Tip: With DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry in tow, Andrews is likely to be an afterthought in fantasy unless one of those two goes down.

Titans | Antonio Andrews stepping up

Thu, 23 Jun 2016 20:53:11 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews has responded well to the added competition of RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry, head coach Mike Mularkey said.

Fantasy Tip: With Murray and Henry now in town, Andrews is going to have to fight for a roster spot, and he has little chance of making a fantasy impact.

Titans | Bishop Sankey performing well

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 12:39:24 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey has made some solid plays during offseason workouts, and head coach Mike Mularkey said he believes the competition at the position has improved the play of several of the running backs. Sankey is expected to compete with RBs Antonio Andrews and David Cobb for roster spots during training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Sankey probably would only be the No. 4 running back if he makes the team, which would not bring a lot of playing time. Sankey could receive a bigger role if he joins another team but is not a strong fantasy option.

Titans | Antonio Andrews signs deal

Thu, 03 Mar 2016 13:18:10 -0800

Tennessee Titans exclusive-rights free-agent RB Antonio Andrews signed a one-year deal Thursday, March 3. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Andrews eventually became the Titans' No. 1 running back last season ahead of Bishop Sankey and Dexter McCluster while David Cobb was injured. He won't necessarily have that spot back again next season, though, and the Titans could very well implement a running back by committee. Cobb may have more upside out of the four of them, but McCluster has added value in PPR leagues.

Titans | Bishop Sankey receives praise

Tue, 29 Dec 2015 09:14:34 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey received some praise from the coaching staff after the Week 16 loss. He led all Titans running backs with 30 snaps, although he ran just twice for seven yards and added three catches for a career-high 43 yards. Sankey had just two carries the previous nine weeks, and head coach Mike Mularkey said Sankey will continue to see more time in Week 17. Mularkey also feels that RB David Cobb is improving, but Cobb had only seven carries for 18 yards against the Houston Texans. RB Antonio Andrews lost an early fumble, and Mularkey didn't seem to have much enthusiasm for him.

Fantasy Tip: For the season finale against the Indianapolis Colts, it sounds as if Sankey ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Cobb ($2,000) will be the most involved, with Andrews ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) being sprinkled in. Sankey or Cobb could be worth a desperation play in a flex spot on FantasyScore if you're feeling lucky.

Titans | Antonio Andrews finds end zone

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 23:02:20 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews ran 13 times for 58 yards with a touchdown in the Week 13 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He added one receptions for 10 yards on his only target.

Fantasy Tip: Andrews visited the end zone for the first time since Oct. 11. He has emerged as a decent low-end RB2 or flex FantasyScore option since he gets about 10-15 touches per game and has a healthy average per touch.
