NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah thinks Missouri DE Michael Sam could go undrafted this year after underwhelming at the NFL Scouting Combine. "The number everybody keeps talking about is the 25 1/2-inch vertical. That is way down there. That is not good for an offensive lineman. Sam lacks the size to be an every-down defensive end in any scheme, and he likely figures to be a third-down specialist in passing situations.

NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock doesn't believe Missouri LB Michael Sam is an every-down player in the NFL, because he doesn't have a clear position. Mayock projects Sam to be selected in between the third and fifth rounds of the NFL Draft this year. "He is a tweener," Mayock said. "I think that's why people are having trouble with the evaluation. I saw him on the Missouri tape, then again at the Senior Bowl. What I saw was a guy that's a natural edge rush guy. He's much better going forward than he is backward. He's got a little explosion off the edge, but he doesn't have the length. So he's got linebacker size, but he's got the physical skill set of a defensive end. I think he's a tough fit."
