Patriots | James White finds end zone

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 13:53:40 -0800

New England Patriots RB James White caught three passes for 32 yards and one touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 16. He also rushed for 14 yards on one carry.

Fantasy Tip: White has been involved in the running and passing game over the last few weeks and could receive more touches in Week 17 if the team has the No. 1 seed in the playoffs wrapped up. He can be a flex option in leagues depending on his offensive role.

Patriots | James White on pace for big receiving line

Wed, 14 Dec 2016 07:47:03 -0800

New England Patriots RB James White is on pace for 62 receptions and 583 receiving yards for the season.

Fantasy Tip: He also had four TD catches, but he's very feast or famine. He only has 132 rushing yards, and his fantasy viability rests on his receiving numbers. He's a very risky flex option in fantasy.

Patriots | James White goes for big gainer

Mon, 12 Dec 2016 21:46:34 -0800

New England Patriots RB James White rushed twice for three yards in the Week 14 game against the Baltimore Ravens Monday, Dec. 14, and he added three receptions for 81 yards on his three targets. One catch was good for a 61-yard catch and scamper.

Fantasy Tip: White is a solid flex option in deeper PPR fantasy leagues heading into Week 15.

Patriots | Three Patriots RBs split snaps evenly

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 16:22:57 -0800

New England Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount received 27 snaps during the team's Week 12 game, while RB James White received 26 snaps and RB Dion Lewis received 23 snaps. The Patriots ran three plays with White and Lewis on the field at the same time.

Fantasy Tip: Blount received the most carries against the New York Jets and probably will continue to be the main running option moving forward. Lewis received six carries and caught four passes, while White caught four passes and received zero carries. Blount should be considered a No. 2 running back in most leagues but will not be as valuable in point-per-reception leagues. Lewis and White should be flex options for most owners.

Patriots | James White scores in Frisco

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 22:23:36 -0800

New England Patriots RB James White did not have any rushes in the Week 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers, but he added six receptions for 63 yards with a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: White is worth a look as a flex fantasy play in deeper PPR formats heading into Week 12 against the New York Jets. Over the coming weeks he will be battling the healthy Dion Lewis for touches behind LeGarrette Blount.

Patriots | Six touches for James White

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 22:31:01 -0800

New England Patriots RB James White rushed twice for five yards in the Week 10 game against the Seattle Seahawks and he added four receptions for 32 yards on his four targets.

Fantasy Tip: White has a little upside, especially for fantasy owners in PPR leagues, but for now he is only worth using in deeper leagues heading into Week 11 at San Francisco.

Patriots | James White's role in offense secure

Fri, 11 Nov 2016 10:44:15 -0800

New England Patriots RB James White is a "good player" and "it would take somebody playing pretty good to be better than him", according to head coach Bill Belichick. "What he does is good. Could somebody do it better? I don't know. But it would take quite a bit, I would say, based on where he is and how consistent he's been with what he's done," Belichick said.

Fantasy Tip: More Beli-tricks? This topic comes up as a result of the roster decision the team must make with Dion Lewis by Nov. 17. White has improved in 2016, but he remains a league-average talent who can hold his own in the passing game. Lewis proved to be a special talent before his injury last season and is very likely to carve out a role sooner than later if he is healthy. Lewis has league-winning upside, so continue to hold on to him until there is more clarity to this situation.

Patriots | James White finds end zone twice

Sun, 16 Oct 2016 22:24:14 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White ran seven times for just 19 yards in the Week 6 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but he more than made up for it with eight grabs, 47 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets.

Fantasy Tip: White started the season slow, but he has piled up 17 catches for 160 yards and two scores over the past three games. He has re-emerged as a solid RB2 in all PPR fantasy formats.

Patriots | James White expected to be involved

Fri, 14 Oct 2016 07:35:06 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White is expected to be a steady contributor the rest of the season, in the opinion of beat writer Jeff Howe.

Fantasy Tip: Howe opined that he didn't think White would reduce LeGarrette Blount's carries because Blount is superior between the tackles. White is a flex option in PPR leagues. The problem is you never know how the Patriots will use its backfield any given week.

Patriots | James White outsnaps LeGarrette Blount

Mon, 10 Oct 2016 10:21:25 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White saw 38 snaps to LeGarrette Blount's 31 in a Week 5 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: While Blount was known to be dealing with a hip injury entering the contest, it is also notable the Patriots leaned on White more than their "grind-it-out" back even though they enjoyed a comfortable lead throughout. Hip injury or not, owners should probably expect a similar split until Dion Lewis returns, perhaps as early as two weeks from now. Until then, White should be considered the superior option in PPR formats, while Blount's touchdown upside gives him the edge in standard leagues.
