Miami Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey is looking to acquire more draft picks in the 2015 NFL Draft in order to replenish the team's depth. As a result, Miami is open to discussing trading out of the No. 14 overall pick in the first round in exchange for extra mid-round picks. Miami gave up a third-rounder to the New Orleans Saints for WR Kenny Stills last week.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill still has a backer in general manager Dennis Hickey, who admitted average salaries for starting quarterbacks are going up but the team is still high on Tannehill as a starter.
Fantasy Tip: Tannehill should be a safe bet for starting in 2015 fantasy leagues. Rumors are the team is working on a long-term agreement with Tannehill that could pay him between $15 million and $18 million a season, which would place him among the top earners. The team could sour on Tannehill just like the Chicago Bears did on Jay Cutler, but for now Tannehill appears to be a strong bet.

Miami Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey had praise for QB Ryan Tannehill, saying the team is "excited" about his progress to date. "We are excited about [Tannehill's] future as a Dolphin. ... We saw a lot of progress [in 2014]," Hickey said.
Fantasy Tip: The team expects to pick up Tannehill's fifth-year option and may even discuss a longer-term deal. Tannehill is likely a safe bet to draft or keep for 2015 fantasy leagues.

Former Miami Dolphins scout Nate Sullivan has threatened a lawsuit on the team and the NFL alleging his recent firing violated the Americans with Disabilities Act. Sullivan's attorney's litigation letter claims that Sullivan was fired earlier this month because general manager Dennis Hickey was unhappy with Sullivan's remote working status. Sullivan, a 17-year Dolphins scout, started working from home in 2004 to help assist his wife in her medical treatment for cystic fibrosis.

The Miami Dolphins fired longtime trainer Kevin O'Neill Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the wake of the NFL's independent investigation into the team's locker room culture. O'Neill made the trip to Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine, and was fired at the event by general manager Dennis Hickey and team executive Dawn Aponte.
