|Titans | Zach Mettenberger wants to compete|
Fri, 01 May 2015 11:20:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger may receive the chance to compete for the job, but Mariota should be seen as the leading candidate at this time. Owners should watch the competition during training camp, but Mettenberger will not have any fantasy value if he is not the starter.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger may want trade|
Thu, 30 Apr 2015 17:32:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger could be traded if the Titans are able to find a solid offer, but he likely will compete for the starting job if he remains with the Titans. Mettenberger likely would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts for a team in 2015.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger won't be traded|
Wed, 29 Apr 2015 01:04:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger will likely be a backup behind Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota, whichever QB falls to the Titans. Even if the Titans go in another direction and don't draft a quarterback, Mettenberger hasn't proven he can be much more than a competent backup.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger receives praise|
Mon, 20 Apr 2015 14:38:30 -0700
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger was applauded by TE Delanie Walker for recently organizing practice sessions. Walker said he's excited about Mettenberger showing leadership and initiative, adding that Mettenberger could be the franchise quarterback the Titans need.
Fantasy Tip: It's one thing to show leadership, it's another to win games. Mettenberger still has a lot to prove before he's worthy of being considered a franchise quarterback or a starting fantasy quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger is currently considered the starting quarterback for the Titans, but it is not known if the team will add a quarterback during the draft. Mettenberger played well at times this past season but likely will not be more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback most weeks.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger the next Tom Brady?|
Sun, 12 Apr 2015 19:03:48 -0700
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger is viewed as the steal of the 2014 NFL Draft by head coach Ken Whisenhunt and general manager Ruston Webster, and they view him as a poor man's version of New England Patriots QB Tom Brady.
Fantasy Tip: While the confidence the front office apparently has in Mettenberger could cause the Titans to pass on a quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Mettenberger still has a lot to prove on the field before he is worth owning in fantasy leagues.

|Titans | Marcus Mariota would start for Titans|
Tue, 24 Mar 2015 10:01:21 -0700
Oregon QB Marcus Mariota is a realistic option for the Tennessee Titans with the second overall selection in this year's NFL Draft, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt is impressed enough with Mariota that he would feel confident with him as the team's starting quarterback over QB Zach Mettenberger right off the bat in 2015. "If we pick him at No. 2, you definitely think he can be the Day 1 starter," Whisenhunt said. "He was impressive. ... Just the short time we spent with him on the board, he was very good." Whisenhunt dismissed the notion that he needs a pocket-based quarterback in his offense to succeed. Whisenhunt could also be trying to generate interest in the No. 2 pick if the Titans would want to trade out of it.
Fantasy Tip: Mariota has all kinds of physical skills that would endear him to NFL teams in the draft. However, he's not believed to be as pro-ready as Jameis Winston because of the spread attack he ran in college. If Mariota is starting in Week 1, he likely won't be anything more than a weak QB2 for fantasy owners in 2015.

Sat, 21 Feb 2015 10:47:21 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Mettenberger is the No. 1 quarterback at this point, but the team could bring in another quarterback this offseason to compete with him. Mettenberger probably should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in fantasy drafts if he is able to win the starting job.

|Titans | Haven't committed to Zach Mettenberger|
Thu, 19 Feb 2015 00:04:54 -0800
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger has the backing of the coaching staff, but they have not committed to him as the starter for 2015. General manager Ruston Webster said the team will fully consider QB Jameis Winston or QB Marcus Mariota.
Fantasy Tip: This sounds like a team that wants Mettenberger to stay as a backup. Mettenberger should be avoided as a starting option in most fantasy leagues unless he ends up with the starting job. If that is the case, Mettenberger projects as a QB2.

|Titans | Zach Mettenberger likely to be starter|
Sun, 15 Feb 2015 16:20:46 -0800
Early indications are the Tennessee Titans are leaning toward giving QB Zach Mettenberger a chance to prove himself as the full-time starter rather than using the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft on Oregon QB Marcus Mariota or Florida State QB Jameis Winston. "We like Zach, and I think Zach has the tools to play and start in the league," general manager Ruston Webster said.
Fantasy Tip: If Mettenberger secures the starting job, he showed he can be useful when the matchup is favorable. However, he is more of a QB2 in standard fantasy leagues, and a must-start in formats which use two signal callers. He can be a helpful option in FantasyScore if the price is right, too.
