Steelers | Xavier Grimble a potential starter?

Fri, 23 Jun 2017 18:57:03 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Xavier Grimble could push TE Jesse James for the starting job if he can become consistent catching the football, according to Bob Labriola of Steelers.com.

Fantasy Tip: With a receiving corps led by Antonio Brown and bolstered by the return of Martavis Bryant and addition of JuJu Smith-Schuster, whoever ends up as Pittsburgh's top tight end should be considered a TE2 for fantasy purposes.

Steelers | Xavier Grimble primed for more playing time?

Sat, 20 May 2017 15:06:52 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Xavier Grimble played more than twice as many snaps per game with Ladarius Green out than in last season. Prior to breaking his ribs in the second half of last season, Grimble averaged 19.9 snaps per contest.

Fantasy Tip: This is somewhat notable because Pittsburgh did not address the tight end position in free agency or the draft and released Green earlier this week. Jesse James will remain the starter in all likelihood, but Grimble gives the Steelers a bit more of a downfield threat. Then again, if Martavis Bryant is able to return to form and/or rookie Juju Smith-Schuster emerges as a viable threat underneath, the odds are fairly strong Pittsburgh may not have a tight end worth caring about in fantasy.

Steelers | Xavier Grimble may have bigger role

Fri, 06 Jan 2017 15:16:56 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Xavier Grimble likely will have a bigger role in the passing game if TE Ladarius Green (concussion) is not able to play in the Wild Card playoff game against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Grimble was limited to 11 catches and 118 yards during the regular season but did also have two touchdowns during the season. He probably would only see limited targets and can be avoided in all leagues.
