Broncos | Cody Latimer playing faster

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 11:40:15 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer is starting to play faster, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. Latimer said he's ready for a big step in 2016. "I just have a lot of confidence right now, I'm just ready to play," Latimer said. "I feel like it's time to make an impact." Latimer added that he has a good grip on what the Broncos are doing offensively and what his role is.

Fantasy Tip: His role will likely be the No. 3 wide receiver, but that's not exactly an enviable position in a run-focused Gary Kubiak offense. Latimer is only worth a flier in later rounds of fantasy drafts.

Broncos | Several WRs get their chance to shine

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 20:27:45 -0700

Denver Broncos WRs Bennie Fowler, Cody Latimer, Jordan Norwood and Jordan Taylor each had their chance to make an impression Wednesday, June 8, as they bid to become the third wide receiver behind veteran WRs Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas. Sanders and Thomas were rested, opening up first-team reps.

Fantasy Tip: Unofficially, Fowler might be the favorite, as he came up with some big plays down the stretch and in the postseason in 2015. However, it's a completely open battle. The winner of the No. 3 job will be a useful WR4/5 or flex option in standard fantasy formats.

Broncos | Cody Latimer arrested

Tue, 31 May 2016 16:07:53 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer was arrested Monday, May 30, for failing to pay a one-year old traffic ticket. The wide receiver shelled out $311.50 to resolve the situation. Latimer originally called police as the alleged victim of a domestic dispute.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't look like either incident will cause Latimer to miss any significant time. He'll still compete for the Broncos' No. 3 wide receiver position, but he shouldn't be drafted as more than a WR5.

Broncos | Denver has two No. 3 WR candidates

Fri, 27 May 2016 14:22:16 -0700

Denver Broncos WRs Cody Latimer and Bennie Fowler are expected to compete for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp. Latimer has performed well during offseason workouts during the last few seasons but has not recorded great numbers during the regular season. Fowler had a decent role in the passing game in 2015 but injuries and inconsistency dropped him on the depth chart.

Fantasy Tip: Fowler has posted better numbers during his career, but Latimer was drafted higher and has performed well during offseason workouts. The Broncos probably will decide the winner of the competition at some point during the preseason, but the winner likely would only be a late-round option in most leagues.

Broncos | Cody Latimer on track to play

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 13:53:58 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 4, and is listed as probable for the Week 13 game against the San Diego Chargers.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has been more involved in the passing game over the last three weeks but still has only six catches on the season. Owners should be able to find other options to use.

Broncos | Four Broncos have full practice

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 14:29:56 -0800

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (tooth), QB Brock Osweiler (quadriceps) and WRs Emmanuel Sanders (ankle, finger) and Cody Latimer (non-injury) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like most of the core of the Broncos' offense should be good to go against the San Diego Chargers this weekend. Osweiler ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) and the passing game have a tough task ahead of them, though, as the Chargers have been a better than average fantasy pass defense. Hillman ($5,600, 11.2%), however, makes for at least a nice flex start as San Diego has been porous against the run this year.

Broncos | Cody Latimer sits out of practice

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 14:56:59 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer (non-injury) did not take part in practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer's ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) rise has coincided with Brock Osweiler taking over for Peyton Manning. The two have a chemistry that was developed working in practices earlier this year. While that makes Latimer intriguing, it's still hard to rely on him for anything other than a really deep sleeper on FantasyScore.

Broncos | Cody Latimer receives bigger role

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 10:31:47 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer was on the field for 36 offensive snaps in the team's Week 11 game, which was more than WRs Andre Caldwell, Bennie Fowler and Jordan Norwood. Latimer is more comfortable working with QB Brock Osweiler since they have practiced together over the last two seasons. Latimer finished the game with two catches for 22 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer likely will lose some of his work once Emmanuel Sanders is able to return to the lineup but should be a candidate for the No. 3 receiver job since he has chemistry with Osweiler. Latimer probably is not a starting option at this point, but owners may want to keep an eye on him.

Mathis, Thompson and Ware did not practice Friday, Oct. 16. Sambrailo and Talib were limited, while the others practiced in full.

Broncos | Cody Latimer sidelined again

Thu, 08 Oct 2015 17:10:29 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 8.

Fantasy Tip: It does not look like Latimer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will be able to play in Week 5 against the Oakland Raiders, but owners can keep an eye out on the situation. Latimer has not done much this season and should not be a starting option if he is active.

Broncos | Cody Latimer does not practice

Wed, 07 Oct 2015 17:11:52 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) suffered the injury in the last game and appears to be questionable for the Week 5 game because of his injury. Latimer does not receive much playing time when he is active, so owners should be able to find better options.

Broncos | Cody Latimer day-to-day

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 12:27:27 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer (groin) is considered day-to-day after he suffered a groin injury during the team's Week 4 game.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation to see if Latimer is able to practice this week. He has posted only 23 yards this season and is not a great fantasy option.

Broncos | Cody Latimer leaves early

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 19:06:35 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer (groin) left the Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings due to a groin injury.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) was not targeted and he did not have any offensive statistics. FantasyScore players likely didn't notice he left.

Broncos | Jordan Norwood the No. 3 WR

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 11:31:05 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Jordan Norwood has played 98 snaps on offense (65.3%) through the first two weeks of the season and is expected to continue as the team's No. 3 receiver in the near future. WRs Andre Caldwell (17% of snaps) and Cody Latimer (6%) have suffered as a result.

Fantasy Tip: Those in deep leagues should take note of Norwood ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and if the Denver offense can pick up their running game, perhaps Norwood could be worth a look as a deep sleeper in a flex spot down the road.

Broncos | Cody Latimer an afterthought

Fri, 18 Sep 2015 10:52:05 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer has been an afterthought in the offense in the first two weeks and has fallen behind slot WR Jordan Norwood on the depth chart.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has had zero targets in both weeks so far, and with Denver's offense still trying to find its identity, the chances of him making an impact anytime soon seem unlikely. In traditional deep leagues, he's probably not even worth a roster spot right now.

Broncos | Coach excited about Cody Latimer

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 15:34:32 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer showed improvement during offseason workouts while working with the starting offense, and head coach Gary Kubiak is excited about Latimer will add to the offense. "I'm really excited about what he can bring and I know he's a lot better now than when he started," Kubiak said. "I'm excited moving forward."

Fantasy Tip: Latimer probably will enter the season the team's No. 3 receiver and should see plenty of playing time. Latimer could be a late-round option in drafts this season with the chance to become a more consistent fantasy performer as the season goes on.

Broncos | Cody Latimer seen as third WR

Mon, 13 Jul 2015 11:45:55 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer is viewed as the Broncos' third wide receiver this year behind WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Latimer said he feels more prepared than he was in his rookie season last year.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer will probably spend most of his time on the outside as Emmanuel Sanders shifts to the slot role. Latimer will certainly have more opportunities to produce this season, but the expectations should be tempered somewhat considering he only caught two passes in eight games in 2014. Consider him a WR5 with low-end WR4 potential.

Broncos | Teammate confident in Cody Latimer

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 11:30:18 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer is ready to have a bigger role in the offense this season, according to WR Emmanuel Sanders. "No doubt, Cody has everything he needs to be one of those guys to make an impact in this league," Sanders said. "We expect big things … you could see it in practice last year; he's ready to do some things."

Fantasy Tip: Latimer likely will be the team's No. 3 wide receiver this season and see time as an outside receiver. He caught only two passes in eight games last season but should see significantly more snaps. Latimer could be a late-round option in deeper leagues since he is part of one of the better offenses in the NFL.

Broncos | Cody Latimer likes the offense

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 18:14:12 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer said he has made an effort to develop more chemistry with QB Peyton Manning and has dedicated himself to learning head coach Gary Kubiak's playbook. "It's much easier to catch on. It gives you time to play fast; you don't have to think so much," Latimer said. "Not as many adjustments in this offense. Once you know what you're doing out of the huddle, you stick with that. No changing on the run."

Fantasy Tip: Latimer is expected to be on the field whenever the Broncos use three-receiver sets this year, and he has intriguing upside with an expanded role. Don't be afraid to take a chance on Latimer as a WR3 in 2015.

Broncos | Cody Latimer to play on outside

Sat, 16 May 2015 20:45:28 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer will step in as an outside receiver when the team uses three-receiver sets this year.

Fantasy Tip: With a bigger role, Latimer will have a high ceiling in 2015. He is an unproven product, but he is still worth drafting as a WR3.

Broncos | Cody Latimer ready for next step?

Mon, 20 Apr 2015 12:20:54 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer believes he has already improved this offseason after participating in QB Peyton Manning's Duke passing camp. "I got a lot of repetitions… I am faster than I was [last season], shiftier," Latimer said. Latimer's counterpart, WR Emmanuel Sanders, has already heaped praise on him. "He's a special player. He has strong hands, the physical tools. I think this is going to be the year he jumps onto the map."

Fantasy Tip: Latimer will need to stay healthy and step up his game this season with Wes Welker no longer on the team. He's in an ideal position to win a starting wide receiver job heading into the offseason program. As of now, however, he should be considered no more than a WR3 at best.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders likes Cody Latimer

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 16:53:57 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer, who is expected to line up across from WR Demaryius Thomas in 2015, has been praised by WR Emmanuel Sanders, who figures to move inside to the slot position in three-wide receiver sets. "Cody is a special player. He has strong hands and is a physical tool. I think this is going to be the year that he jumps onto the scene. I think he's going to have a big year and I'm happy he's on my team and in our receiver group," Sanders said.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer will be a late-round fantasy football option with plenty of upside in Denver's offense with Peyton Manning at the helm for one more season. He has the potential to be a flex option for your lineups, at minimum, if he takes advantage of his increased role.

Broncos | Cody Latimer working with QB

Thu, 02 Apr 2015 10:41:56 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer is participating in QB Peyton Manning's workouts at Duke University this week. Latimer was dropped to the scout team last season but could have a bigger role in the offense in 2015 since the team lost TE Julius Thomas to the Jacksonville Jaguars and are not expected to re-sign free-agent WR Wes Welker. Latimer has a good chemistry with Manning even though it did not translate to games.

Fantasy Tip: The offseason workouts likely will be important for Latimer since he probably will be more involved in the passing game next season. Owners could consider selecting Latimer in the later rounds of drafts next season, but he will not be a starting option each week.

Broncos | Denver wants Cody Latimer to be No. 3

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 18:25:04 -0700

The Denver Broncos plan to use WR Cody Latimer as the third receiver behind WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in 2015. "I think it's time for him to make a big jump," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "Not just a little jump. Obviously his play time is fixing to pick up, and it needs to pick up, so we need him to make a big jump in year two."

Fantasy Tip: Latimer could be a nice late-round fantasy sleeper who pays huge dividends if he makes the time of jump Kubiak expects. Being the third receiver in most systems means so-so fantasy value, but in Denver's pass-happy offense Latimer could push for 700 yards and a handful of scores if he lives up to expectations.

Broncos | Cody Latimer to play more in 2015?

Mon, 16 Feb 2015 11:15:49 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer could see more playing time next season, according to Denver Broncos columnist/analyst Andrew Mason, especially if he can maintain his effective blocking and if impending free-agent WR Wes Welker doesn't return.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer played very little as a rookie in 2014. He still needs to prove himself, especially to an almost completely new coaching staff, and still has at least Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in front of him.

Broncos | Cody Latimer could have bigger role

Sat, 14 Feb 2015 16:50:42 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer could take on a bigger role in his second season in 2015 if the team doesn't go heavy with two-tight-end sets and a fullback. Latimer was considered by some to be the best blocker among last year's receiver draft class. The team could utilize him in the slot as a pseudo-second tight end in three-receiver sets.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer was a popular sleeper entering the 2014 season, and he wasn't much of a factor. If Peyton Manning returns, and Latimer gains a rhythm in camp, he could be a solid WR5 flyer.
