Broncos | Cody Latimer to play on outside

Sat, 16 May 2015 20:45:28 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer will step in as an outside receiver when the team uses three-receiver sets this year.

Fantasy Tip: With a bigger role, Latimer will have a high ceiling in 2015. He is an unproven product, but he is still worth drafting as a WR3.

Broncos | Cody Latimer ready for next step?

Mon, 20 Apr 2015 12:20:54 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer believes he has already improved this offseason after participating in QB Peyton Manning's Duke passing camp. "I got a lot of repetitions… I am faster than I was [last season], shiftier," Latimer said. Latimer's counterpart, WR Emmanuel Sanders, has already heaped praise on him. "He's a special player. He has strong hands, the physical tools. I think this is going to be the year he jumps onto the map."

Fantasy Tip: Latimer will need to stay healthy and step up his game this season with Wes Welker no longer on the team. He's in an ideal position to win a starting wide receiver job heading into the offseason program. As of now, however, he should be considered no more than a WR3 at best.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders likes Cody Latimer

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 16:53:57 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer, who is expected to line up across from WR Demaryius Thomas in 2015, has been praised by WR Emmanuel Sanders, who figures to move inside to the slot position in three-wide receiver sets. "Cody is a special player. He has strong hands and is a physical tool. I think this is going to be the year that he jumps onto the scene. I think he's going to have a big year and I'm happy he's on my team and in our receiver group," Sanders said.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer will be a late-round fantasy football option with plenty of upside in Denver's offense with Peyton Manning at the helm for one more season. He has the potential to be a flex option for your lineups, at minimum, if he takes advantage of his increased role.

Broncos | Cody Latimer working with QB

Thu, 02 Apr 2015 10:41:56 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer is participating in QB Peyton Manning's workouts at Duke University this week. Latimer was dropped to the scout team last season but could have a bigger role in the offense in 2015 since the team lost TE Julius Thomas to the Jacksonville Jaguars and are not expected to re-sign free-agent WR Wes Welker. Latimer has a good chemistry with Manning even though it did not translate to games.

Fantasy Tip: The offseason workouts likely will be important for Latimer since he probably will be more involved in the passing game next season. Owners could consider selecting Latimer in the later rounds of drafts next season, but he will not be a starting option each week.

Broncos | Denver wants Cody Latimer to be No. 3

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 18:25:04 -0700

The Denver Broncos plan to use WR Cody Latimer as the third receiver behind WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in 2015. "I think it's time for him to make a big jump," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "Not just a little jump. Obviously his play time is fixing to pick up, and it needs to pick up, so we need him to make a big jump in year two."

Fantasy Tip: Latimer could be a nice late-round fantasy sleeper who pays huge dividends if he makes the time of jump Kubiak expects. Being the third receiver in most systems means so-so fantasy value, but in Denver's pass-happy offense Latimer could push for 700 yards and a handful of scores if he lives up to expectations.

Broncos | Cody Latimer to play more in 2015?

Mon, 16 Feb 2015 11:15:49 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer could see more playing time next season, according to Denver Broncos columnist/analyst Andrew Mason, especially if he can maintain his effective blocking and if impending free-agent WR Wes Welker doesn't return.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer played very little as a rookie in 2014. He still needs to prove himself, especially to an almost completely new coaching staff, and still has at least Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in front of him.

Broncos | Cody Latimer could have bigger role

Sat, 14 Feb 2015 16:50:42 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer could take on a bigger role in his second season in 2015 if the team doesn't go heavy with two-tight-end sets and a fullback. Latimer was considered by some to be the best blocker among last year's receiver draft class. The team could utilize him in the slot as a pseudo-second tight end in three-receiver sets.

Fantasy Tip: Latimer was a popular sleeper entering the 2014 season, and he wasn't much of a factor. If Peyton Manning returns, and Latimer gains a rhythm in camp, he could be a solid WR5 flyer.
