Dolphins | No offer for Jarvis Landry

Thu, 13 Jul 2017 19:02:26 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has not been offered a contract extension, but Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald believes that could change in the coming weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Landry is one of the best slot receivers in the game. He hasn't shown enough touchdown potential to be considered a WR1 yet, but he is a quality WR2 with more value in PPR formats.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry won't discuss extension

Tue, 11 Jul 2017 16:55:26 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry will not talk about a possible contract extension once the regular season commences. The potential extension is expected to be around $11 million per year. If an extension is not agreed upon by next offseason, then the Dolphins will have the option of placing the franchise tag on Landry.

Fantasy Tip: Landry is indubitably Miami's best, most consistent receiver and Ryan Tannehill's go-to guy. He has more value in PPR formats, but he's still a viable low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 in standard leagues.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry getting it done in the slot

Tue, 20 Jun 2017 19:50:08 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has secured 199 catches out of the slot over the last three seasons, more than any other receiver in the NFL over that time.

Fantasy Tip: Much of Landry's production out of the slot came in his first two seasons, but that doesn't diminish just how consistently he gets open regardless of where he lines up. The fourth-year wideout is a rock-solid WR2 in most leagues and only needs to find the end zone more often in order to become a WR1.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry will not hold out

Tue, 20 Jun 2017 09:03:29 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry will not negotiate with the Dolphins regarding a contract extension after the start of the season, according to his agent, who added the receiver will not hold out training camp if the deal is not reached in the next few weeks.

Fantasy Tip: It's more than a bit surprising Miami hasn't already locked him up, but at least owners should be able to breathe easier regarding his status for the upcoming season. With no fewer than 84 catches in any of his first three seasons, he's a solid WR2 who only needs to find the end zone a bit more often in order to become a WR1.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry reports for minicamp

Tue, 13 Jun 2017 17:45:10 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry reported for the start of minicamp Tuesday, June 13, even though he is looking for a new contract. Landry would like to sign an extension before the start of training camp.

Fantasy Tip: The Dolphins will have a little over a month to work something out with Landry, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Landry ranked 10th in the NFL with 1,136 yards in 2016 and tied for seventh with 94 receptions. He is the main target in the passing game for Miami and should be low-end No. 1 of a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry not focused enough?

Thu, 08 Jun 2017 14:55:48 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry must "zero in" on the small details of the game that kept the Dolphins from "clicking" last year, according to The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley. Head coach Adam Gase has been pleased with how consistent Landry has been practicing and doing the little things. "When he's rolling he was today, you just keep trying to find ways to get him the ball," Gase said.

Fantasy Tip: Little things or no little things, Landry has been a solid fantasy player during his first three professional seasons, averaging 96 catches for 1,017 yards and 4.3 touchdowns. Those numbers put him in prime low-end PPR WR1 territory.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry a decent bet to sign new deal

Tue, 06 Jun 2017 09:41:04 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry is entering the final season of his four-year rookie contract, and the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero believes there is a 60 percent chance Landry will sign an extension prior to the start of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Landry has frustrated owners by scoring only 13 touchdowns over his first three seasons, but that is about the only thing lacking on his resume - real or fantasy. His yards per catch has increased every year and he has yet to finish with fewer than 84 receptions in a season, which makes him a pretty solid WR2 option more often than not in PPR. Miami cannot afford to let him walk, so expect negotiations to pick up fairly soon.

Dolphins | Less double coverage for Jarvis Landry?

Thu, 01 Jun 2017 09:45:41 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry estimated he'd been "doubled on" about half the pass plays the team has run over the past two seasons, but believes the addition of TE Julius Thomas will prevent opponents from double-teaming him as often.

Fantasy Tip: Landry is already a high-targeted commodity -- both on the field and in fantasy -- and he's got a valid point if Thomas can become what he once was in Denver, which is very possible now that he's been reunited with Adam Gase. This also could spark an increase in Landry's touchdown total -- he's never had more than five scores in a season, but Thomas' feared presence in the red zone could open up some more looks for the fourth-year wide-out.
