Dolphins | Jarvis Landry under investigation

Mon, 07 Aug 2017 09:30:50 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry is being investigated for possible battery, head coach Adam Gase confirmed Monday, Aug. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Landry is in a contract year and posts very good numbers in PPR leagues - outside of touchdowns. Ryan Tannehill has struggled with the deep ball throughout his career, and Jay Cutler could help Landry there. The cloud of the investigation puts some risk on his high-end WR2 status.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry to play out rookie deal

Fri, 28 Jul 2017 12:37:44 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry did not receive a contract extension offer from the Dolphins this offseason and is expected to play out the final year of his rookie deal.

Fantasy Tip: This seems to be a clear sign the Dolphins intend on moving forward with DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills in what would figure to be a more play-action heavy, vertical-based passing game. Landry still figures to see his seven targets per game or so in 2017, but owners counting on the level of production he provided in his first three seasons may be disappointed. He figures to be firmly on the WR2/3 borderline.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry deal not pressing

Thu, 27 Jul 2017 12:00:11 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry isn't worried about a contract extension and neither are the Dolphins. Owner Stephen Ross said he doesn't know if a deal will get done before the season starts and even said Landry could be franchise tagged next offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The bottom line is that Landry is the best wide receiver on the Dolphins and one of the most consistent PPR receivers in the league. His scoring upside has a low ceiling, but he has WR1 appeal in said PPR leagues.

Dolphins | MIA still wants to re-up with Jarvis Landry

Mon, 24 Jul 2017 07:54:20 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry still hasn't received a contract extension offer from the team, but the Dolphins are still interested in getting a deal done. Landry is under contract for 2017, and the team could use the franchise tag next season at around $15 million.

Fantasy Tip: Landry has been productive, but his 13 touchdowns in three years stunt his fantasy value. He's a WR2, but if he could find his way into the end zone more often, he has WR1 tools.

Dolphins | No offer for Jarvis Landry

Thu, 13 Jul 2017 19:02:26 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has not been offered a contract extension, but Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald believes that could change in the coming weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Landry is one of the best slot receivers in the game. He hasn't shown enough touchdown potential to be considered a WR1 yet, but he is a quality WR2 with more value in PPR formats.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry won't discuss extension

Tue, 11 Jul 2017 16:55:26 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry will not talk about a possible contract extension once the regular season commences. The potential extension is expected to be around $11 million per year. If an extension is not agreed upon by next offseason, then the Dolphins will have the option of placing the franchise tag on Landry.

Fantasy Tip: Landry is indubitably Miami's best, most consistent receiver and Ryan Tannehill's go-to guy. He has more value in PPR formats, but he's still a viable low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 in standard leagues.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry getting it done in the slot

Tue, 20 Jun 2017 19:50:08 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has secured 199 catches out of the slot over the last three seasons, more than any other receiver in the NFL over that time.

Fantasy Tip: Much of Landry's production out of the slot came in his first two seasons, but that doesn't diminish just how consistently he gets open regardless of where he lines up. The fourth-year wideout is a rock-solid WR2 in most leagues and only needs to find the end zone more often in order to become a WR1.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry will not hold out

Tue, 20 Jun 2017 09:03:29 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry will not negotiate with the Dolphins regarding a contract extension after the start of the season, according to his agent, who added the receiver will not hold out training camp if the deal is not reached in the next few weeks.

Fantasy Tip: It's more than a bit surprising Miami hasn't already locked him up, but at least owners should be able to breathe easier regarding his status for the upcoming season. With no fewer than 84 catches in any of his first three seasons, he's a solid WR2 who only needs to find the end zone a bit more often in order to become a WR1.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry reports for minicamp

Tue, 13 Jun 2017 17:45:10 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry reported for the start of minicamp Tuesday, June 13, even though he is looking for a new contract. Landry would like to sign an extension before the start of training camp.

Fantasy Tip: The Dolphins will have a little over a month to work something out with Landry, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Landry ranked 10th in the NFL with 1,136 yards in 2016 and tied for seventh with 94 receptions. He is the main target in the passing game for Miami and should be low-end No. 1 of a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.
