Browns | Isaiah Crowell could be lead back

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 10:18:06 -0700

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell could be the workhorse back if his ball security improves, according to offensive coordinator John DeFilippo.

Fantasy Tip: The pecking order is fluid, but it sounds like Crowell, Duke Johnson and Terrance West. Crowell is a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3 right now.

Browns | Duke Johnson impressing

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 10:41:10 -0700

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson has been performing well this offseason, showcasing his explosiveness and versatility. Johnson will compete with RBs Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West for the starting running back position.

Fantasy Tip: It's a crowded backfield in Cleveland, and Crowell and West played well in their rookie seasons last year. Don't be surprised if this turns into a committee. The Browns have already said Johnson will be moved around and won't play on every down. Right now, Crowell has the most value and is in RB3 territory. West and Johnson are more in the RB4 conversation as it stands.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell and David Johnson paired

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 16:35:38 -0700

Cleveland Browns RBs Isaiah Crowell and David Johnson were lined up in the backfield together Thursday, June 11, during organized team activities.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell and Johnson offer a combination of Crowell's bruising style and Johnson's agility and speed burst. The Browns' running back situation continues to be one of the most difficult to judge at this point in the offseason, but Crowell and Johnson seem to have an early edge over Terrance West.

Browns | Cleveland RBs to catch more passes?

Tue, 05 May 2015 13:51:45 -0700

Cleveland Browns RBs Isaiah Crowell, Terrance West and Duke Johnson could be more involved in the passing game in 2015, according to offensive coordinator John DeFilippo. "Let's see if they can catch the ball, run a slant, run a hitch, run a go, run a comeback," DeFilippo said. "I want to see if those guys can do those things because that's going to be a big part of the offense that I want to incorporate here."

Fantasy Tip: Cleveland's backfield should take better shape as the offseason progresses, but it's definitely looking to be a committee with Crowell, West and Johnson. Crowell and West impressed in their rookie campaigns last season, and Johnson has all the tools to succeed in his rookie season. None of them are more than a low-end RB2 at this point.

Browns | Terrance West buried on depth chart

Mon, 22 Dec 2014 15:50:08 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Terrance West was behind RBs Isaiah Crowell and Shaun Draughn in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers, because Crowell and Draughn had a better practice week than West, according to head coach Mike Pettine.

Fantasy Tip: West ($5,555) should no longer be in consideration for a start in FantasyScore lineups. Crowell ($5,555) is the much better option in the Browns backfield, but the matchup against a strong Baltimore Ravens run defense in Week 17 makes Crowell a RB3, at best.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell should play

Fri, 12 Dec 2014 15:12:29 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 12, and is listed as probable for Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell has rushed for three touchdowns in his last three games and should continue to receive a majority of the carries. Crowell will be facing a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has struggled against opposing running backs. Crowell costs $6,100 on FantasyScore and should be an attractive option for owners.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell a full participant

Thu, 11 Dec 2014 13:46:30 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell (hip) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell ($6,100, 12.2%) looks good to go and is an excellent starting option versus the Cincinnati Bengals, who give up 111 rushing yards per game and have allowed 14 rushing touchdowns through 13 games.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell a full participant

Wed, 10 Dec 2014 14:55:23 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell (hip) practiced in full Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell ($6,100) should be fine to play against the Cincinnati Bengals. At FantasyScore, you should try to find a way to get him into your lineups, since the Bengals have been one of the worst units at stopping the run all season long.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell iffy

Fri, 05 Dec 2014 15:21:52 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell (hip) was limited in practice for the second straight day Friday, Dec. 5, and is questionable for Week 14 against the Indianapolis Colts. RB Terrance West would likely be the starter if Crowell can't play. However, West fumbled twice last week, leaving head coach Mike Pettine to leave open the possibility that West won't be in the lineup at all this week.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell ($6,100) said yesterday that he expects to play against the Colts. Check back Sunday morning to be sure. If he's playing, he matches up well against Indy, as they've been exploited by similar running backs in recent weeks. Take a flier on West ($4,500) if Crowell is ruled out.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell limited Thursday

Thu, 04 Dec 2014 15:10:44 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell (hip) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 4, after sitting out the day before.

Fantasy Tip: This is good news for Crowell's availability against the Indianapolis Colts, a squad that has been chewed up by running backs recently. Crowell ($6,100) is a solid option for FantasyScore lineups this weekend, and Terrance West ($4,500) could be worth a look, as well, as a flex play.
