Browns | CLE rushing ball well in 2014

Sun, 23 Nov 2014 15:03:02 -0800

The Cleveland Browns have 14 rushing touchdowns this season, which is the most by the franchise since it had 14 in the 1989 season. The team had just four rushing touchdowns last season. Rookie RB Isaiah Crowell leads the way with seven touchdowns, while fellow rookie Terrance West has three. Departed RB Ben Tate (Vikings) also had four.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell continues to delight

Sun, 23 Nov 2014 13:58:54 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell carried 12 times for game-high 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Week 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell showed why Ben Tate was expendable and the team believes to much and he and fellow rookie Terrance West. Crowell has seven rushing touchdowns through 11 games, including three in the past three games. He is a solid RB2 or flex play in FantasyScore going forward.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell starting

Sun, 23 Nov 2014 07:27:10 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell is listed as the starter Sunday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell ($5,300; 10.6% of your cap) and Terrance West ($4,300; 8.6%) will split carries in Week 12. The Browns' running game has been a hodge podge this season, and the two running backs negate each other a bit. There are better options on FantasyScore.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell still learning

Wed, 19 Nov 2014 12:21:57 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell doesn't have a fumbling problem, according to head coach Mike Pettine. "I think if we get his fundamentals cleaned up [he'll be OK]. How he holds the ball is not an issue," Pettine said.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell is still Cleveland's starting running back, with Terrance West splitting time and Ben Tate now out of town. Crowell ($5,300, 10.6%) has a tremendous matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12. Atlanta is tied for a league-high 12 rushing touchdowns allowed to the position.

Browns | RB carousel will continue in CLE

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 07:56:25 -0800

Cleveland Browns RBs Ben Tate, Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West will continue to be mixed and matched on a weekly basis, according to head coach Mike Pettine. Crowell had a critical lost fumble Sunday, Nov. 16, but the team kept going to him despite the miscue. "It's something we'll look at week to week," Pettine said. "We're not just going to pick one. When you go in a game-plan situation you look at what gives us the best chance to win."

Fantasy Tip: This is a muddy situation, and it appears the team could feature any of the backs against a team they feel that back can exploit. Tate appears to be falling out of favor with just two carries in Week 11. Crowell has the advantage for now and serves as a cheap flex option on FantasyScore.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell starting

Sun, 16 Nov 2014 09:07:52 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell will be the starting running back for Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell, Terrance West and Ben Tate have been sharing work the last several weeks, but it appears Crowell is receiving the first chance during the game. Crowell only costs $3,300 on FantasyScore and could be a cheap flex option. West costs $5,600 and Tate costs $4,900, but neither is a good option to use this week.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell not being punished

Mon, 03 Nov 2014 13:30:02 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell did not play a single snap in Week 9, but it was not for disciplinary reasons, according to head coach Mike Pettine. Pettine said Crowell is in good standing with the team.

Fantasy Tip: Terrance West and Ben Tate split carries with Crowell on the bench. It may be premature to cut ties with Crowell just yet, especially considering Tate's injury history, but his recent usage doesn't bode well for future prospects.

Browns | Terrance West earns more touches

Sun, 02 Nov 2014 20:36:56 -0800

Cleveland Browns RB Terrance West carried a team-high 15 times for 48 yards in the Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, surging ahead of RB Ben Tate who was held to just three yards on 10 carries. RB Isaiah Crowell did not receive an offensive snap. "When you looked at the tape and really compared the three, we feel (West's) really coming on," head coach Mike Pettine said Sunday, Nov. 2. "He's earned those touches, and when he gets out there he does make the most of them."

Fantasy Tip: West made two big plays on the opening drive of the second half, and he was credited with a big block on the game-winning touchdown. He might not have lit it up for fantasy owners, but he impressed the coaching staff and appears to be at or near the top of the depth chart heading into Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He is worth a look in FantasyScore if the price is right.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell wants to be more involved

Fri, 31 Oct 2014 14:11:41 -0700

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell, who played just three snaps and had one carry for one yard in Week 8, is hoping he'll be more involved in the game plan in Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. RB Ben Tate played 31 of 56 snaps and had 15 carries for 26 yards last week, while RB Terrance West played 22 snaps and had seven carries for 11 yards. Crowell continues to lead the team in average yards per carry (4.9) and rushing touchdowns (four). He dropped two pitches and had a fumble in Week 6, but Crowell insists that he doesn't have ball-security issues.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell ($3,900; 6.8% of cap) has another great matchup against the Bucs this week, but he also had a great matchup last week, and didn't see any time. Crowell's value rests heavily on whether he can score, so he continues to be a dice roll, especially in this busy backfield.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell needs to protect ball

Tue, 28 Oct 2014 11:57:45 -0700

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell could be on the field more if he could protect the ball better, according to head coach Mike Pettine. Pettine said part of the team's decision to stick with Ben Tate late in Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders was because of Crowell's fumble issues. Pettine added that he would like Crowell to get more touches this week.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell is a risky option with his recent lack of volume and production, though he is a cheap option on FantasyScore at $3,900 and the fact that Pettine wants to get him the ball more is encouraging.
