Chiefs | Sammy Watkins has a lot to offer

Fri, 16 Mar 2018 20:55:38 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins "hasn't been used correctly as a pro," according to an AFC scout. "If he gets enough touches each game, he can be a difference-maker," the scout said.

Fantasy Tip: To be fair, injuries haven't helped his production either, but playing alongside Tyreek Hill, Watkins has tons of upside as a WR3.

Chiefs | Sammy Watkins agrees with Chiefs

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 05:06:48 -0700

Los Angeles Rams impending free-agent WR Sammy Watkins agreed to a three-year, $48 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs Tuesday, March 13. The deal includes $30 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins has been hurt a lot, and he hasn't posted higher totals than 65 catches, 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns. He'll turn 25 in June, and he could be productive alongside Tyreek Hill. Grab him as a WR3 with room for more.

Bears | Sammy Watkins is Chicago's top target?

Mon, 12 Mar 2018 20:49:29 -0700

Los Angeles Rams impending free-agent WR Sammy Watkins is reportedly the Chicago Bears' top target in free agency, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: The Bears will obviously have competition, as the Rams want to keep him and the Green Bay Packers reached out to him Monday. He would be the clear top passing-game option in Chicago should the Bears seal the deal with him, but that scenario would easily be the worst of the three for his fantasy value, likely leaving him as a WR3.

Jaguars | Sammy Watkins of interest to Jaguars

Mon, 12 Mar 2018 14:33:25 -0700

Free-agent WR Sammy Watkins (Rams) has drawn interest from the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars will be in desperate need of a wide receiver if they can't bring back Allen Robinson and/or Marqise Lee. Watkins being a Jaguar wouldn't move the needle much on his fantasy value. He remains in the low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 conversation.

Bears | Sammy Watkins of interest to Chicago

Mon, 12 Mar 2018 11:11:30 -0700

Los Angeles Rams impending free-agent WR Sammy Watkins is reportedly receiving interest from the Chicago Bears, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Tip: The Rams want him back, and the Packers are also reportedly interested. While Chicago is probably the least desirable situation of the three for fantasy purposes, Watkins' best shot at being his team's top option in the passing game would be with the Bears. Watkins is no stranger to the cold weather after playing first three years of his career in Buffalo, and Mitchell Trubisky should be serviceable enough moving forward to allow the former Bill to be a fantasy WR2.

Packers | Green Bay interested in Sammy Watkins

Mon, 12 Mar 2018 11:01:03 -0700

Los Angeles Rams impending free-agent WR Sammy Watkins is reportedly receiving interest from the Green Bay Packers, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Tip: If Jordy Nelson is shown the door at some point this summer, Watkins to the Packers could represent a best-case scenario for both parties. Watkins would likely share the No. 1 receiver role with Davante Adams depending on the matchup, and he would obviously benefit from catching balls from Aaron Rodgers instead of Tyrod Taylor and Jared Goff. In Green Bay, Watkins could flirt with WR1 value in fantasy.

Rams | LA Rams trying to keep Sammy Watkins

Sun, 11 Mar 2018 14:20:27 -0700

The Los Angeles Rams "are working actively" to retain impending free-agent WR Sammy Watkins, and Watkins is open to staying with the team, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.

Fantasy Tip: Robert Woods may remain the Rams' top wideout in 2018, but it's not a sure thing. Watkins did not have the benefit of a training camp with Los Angeles and thus never had the chance to build any kind of rapport with Jared Goff. If he sticks with the Rams, expect a big improvement from his 2017 production, assuming he stays healthy.

Bengals | Joe Mixon makes pitch to Sammy Watkins

Fri, 09 Mar 2018 19:19:34 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon sent a tweet to Los Angeles Rams impending free-agent WR Sammy Watkins, asking Watkins to join him in Cincinnati.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins has battled health issues throughout his career, but he has elite physical tools. Playing across from A.J. Green, he'd be a high-upside WR3.

Rams | Sammy Watkins to be pursued by Rams

Tue, 06 Mar 2018 14:21:10 -0800

Los Angeles Rams impending free-agent WR Sammy Watkins will be aggressively sought after by the Rams once he enters free agency, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Los Angeles has said retaining Watkins is a priority despite being unable to sign him before the franchise tag deadline.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins will be one of the bigger names and one of the best wide receivers on the free-agent market. Several teams need help at the position, so the Rams will be hard pressed to bring him back. He has WR2 upside but is more sensible to be drafted as a WR3 depending on his whereabouts.
