Titans | Antonio Andrews in lead for No. 3 RB job

Fri, 26 Aug 2016 14:12:34 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews has a slight edge on RBs David Cobb and Bishop Sankey for the No. 3 running back job in part because of his special teams play, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Whoever wins the job likely will not receive much playing time behind DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry this season, so the winner will not have much fantasy value. Murray should be a considered a No. 2 running back in most leagues, while Henry can be a No. 3 or No. 4 back.

Titans | Bishop Sankey scores touchdown

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 21:44:49 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey carried three times for 52 yards with a 41-yard touchdown scamper in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 13, against the San Diego Chargers.

Fantasy Tip: Sankey's playing time is expected to dry up considerably with the addition of DeMarco Murray and draft pick Derrick Henry, if Sankey even makes the club. Avoid the former University of Washington standout, as his fantasy prospects are very grim in the short term.

Titans | Bishop Sankey has added weight

Thu, 11 Aug 2016 14:55:50 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey is up to 216 pounds after adding eight pounds since last year. Sankey said he feels strong and more explosive and is more confident than in previous years, adding that he's trying to prove himself every day.

Fantasy Tip: DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry will be Tennessee's primary ball carriers in 2016. Sankey's fantasy value is minimal and he can be avoided in fantasy drafts.

Titans | Bishop Sankey performing well

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 12:39:24 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey has made some solid plays during offseason workouts, and head coach Mike Mularkey said he believes the competition at the position has improved the play of several of the running backs. Sankey is expected to compete with RBs Antonio Andrews and David Cobb for roster spots during training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Sankey probably would only be the No. 4 running back if he makes the team, which would not bring a lot of playing time. Sankey could receive a bigger role if he joins another team but is not a strong fantasy option.

Titans | Bishop Sankey sharing jersey number

Thu, 05 May 2016 18:40:23 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey will share No. 20 with SS Kevin Byard during training camp, and the team isn't running a number-share program for its top players.

Fantasy Tip: Having to share his jersey number is another sign that Tennessee could be moving on from Sankey. Even if he sticks with the team, he isn't going to have much fantasy value sitting behind DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry on the depth chart.

Titans | Bishop Sankey fighting for his job?

Sat, 12 Mar 2016 17:47:47 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey will have to prove himself this offseason if he wants to remain with the team, according to beat writer Jim Wyatt.

Fantasy Tip: Tennessee's backfield is suddenly crowded with the addition of DeMarco Murray, and even if Sankey manages to hang on to a roster spot, he isn't going to be much of a fantasy asset.

Titans | Bishop Sankey receives praise

Tue, 29 Dec 2015 09:14:34 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey received some praise from the coaching staff after the Week 16 loss. He led all Titans running backs with 30 snaps, although he ran just twice for seven yards and added three catches for a career-high 43 yards. Sankey had just two carries the previous nine weeks, and head coach Mike Mularkey said Sankey will continue to see more time in Week 17. Mularkey also feels that RB David Cobb is improving, but Cobb had only seven carries for 18 yards against the Houston Texans. RB Antonio Andrews lost an early fumble, and Mularkey didn't seem to have much enthusiasm for him.

Fantasy Tip: For the season finale against the Indianapolis Colts, it sounds as if Sankey ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Cobb ($2,000) will be the most involved, with Andrews ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) being sprinkled in. Sankey or Cobb could be worth a desperation play in a flex spot on FantasyScore if you're feeling lucky.

Titans | Bishop Sankey to be involved

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 12:14:45 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey will be involved in some personnel groupings in Week 15 against the New England Patriots, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Sankey ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) last received a carry on Nov. 15 when he had just two runs for seven yards. Sure Sankey could see more action this weekend, but it'll likely not be enough to consider him in any fantasy format.

Titans | More time for Bishop Sankey, David Cobb

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 10:09:07 -0800

Tennessee Titans RBs Bishop Sankey and David Cobb should receive more playing time with RB Dexter McCluster (knee) sidelined for a few weeks, according to interim head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb may receive more of a chance since he has played in the last few games with Sankey not being used in the last few games. Antonio Andrews should still receive a majority of the carries and may be the only running back worth starting in fantasy leagues.
