New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (knee) spent time training together with QB Drew Brees during the offseason in San Diego. "Man, I love everything about him, his makeup, and then just his physical ability. I mean he's got all kinds of talent," Brees said.
Fantasy Tip: With Jimmy Graham having been dealt to Seattle, Cooks will have a prominent role in the offense. He is expected to start alongside Marques Colston, and could very well be the No. 1 receiving option in the offense if he isn't that already. Consider him a top-flight WR2 entering the season, as he makes his way back from a knee injury. He could emerge as a low-end WR1 by season's end for fantasy owners.

New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks will be atop the depth chart with WR Marques Colston to enter the 2015 season.
Fantasy Tip: Cooks could be a big-time breakout candidate after playing in the slot most of his solid rookie season. Look at Cooks as a premium WR3 with WR2 potential.
Fri, 13 Feb 2015 13:20:52 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks said he plans to work out with QB Drew Brees this offseason.
Fantasy Tip: Cooks caught at least five passes in eight games this season but only recorded three touchdowns during the season. Cooks could receive a better role in the passing game, so he could be considered a low-end No. 2 wide receiver or a No. 3 with high upside in drafts next season. Cooks probably will have more value in point-per-reception leagues.
Fri, 05 Dec 2014 19:03:22 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Kenny Stills has tallied 13 catches for 260 yards and a touchdown in two games since WR Brandin Cooks (thumb) went down with a season-ending thumb injury.
Fantasy Tip: Drew Brees' tendency to spread the wealth makes any receiver for the Saints somewhat of a risk. That being said, Stills ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has a lot of upside for the price, making him a solid option at FantasyScore in Week 14 when New Orleans takes on a Carolina team ranked in the middle of the pack against the pass.
Tue, 18 Nov 2014 14:29:20 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (thumb) was placed on season-ending Reserve/Injured Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Fantasy Tip: Cooks' absence could breathe new life into Marques Colston, while Jimmy Graham, Kenny Stills and Travaris Cadet figure to see more targets as well. Colston is an especially intriguing play on FantasyScore in Week 12 with an attractively low price of $4,600 in a tasty matchup with the Baltimore Ravens.
Mon, 17 Nov 2014 10:39:08 -0800
Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (thumb) underwent thumb surgery Monday, Nov. 17, and could miss four to six weeks.
Fantasy Tip: Cooks probably will not be able to return until late in December, so owners in shallow leagues can consider dropping him. Marques Colston, Kenny Stills and Travaris Cadet could receive more targets with Cooks out, which helps their fantasy value. All three players could be at least flex options in Week 12.
Mon, 17 Nov 2014 07:55:40 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (thumb) will miss two to four weeks due to a broken thumb.
Fantasy Tip: Kenny Stills is likely to benefit from Cooks' absence. Stills is a good flex option at the right price on FantasyScore. Marques Colston could also work his way back into fantasy viability.
Thu, 23 Oct 2014 15:40:01 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks has been targeted 22 times in just two home games so far this year. He totaled eight catches for 74 yards in Week 3 and nine catches for 56 yards in Week 5. The Saints play their third home game of the season this Sunday night.
Fantasy Tip: It may just be coincidence, but Cooks has been thrown at much more at home than on the road. If Jimmy Graham is limited at all, Cooks could see plenty of action and is will be worth his $5,700 price on FantasyScore.
Mon, 15 Sep 2014 11:19:05 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston, who didn't catch a pass in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns for the first time in 87 games, wasn't even targeted a single time. The Browns made it their mission to shut the Saints' downfield passing game down, and Cleveland had seven defensive backs on the field at once at times. WR Brandin Cooks was held to just three catches for 17 yards, and the four receivers combined for nine catches for 79 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Colston's fat zero for fantasy owners in Week 2 hurt badly. The good news is he has a good chance of bouncing back in Week 3 at home against the Minnesota Vikings.
Sun, 07 Sep 2014 18:29:24 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks had seven receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown in the Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons Sunday, Sept. 7.
Fantasy Tip: There were plenty of fantasy owners and experts loving Cooks in the preseason, and he lived up to the hype for at least one game. Still, after his solid performance, he might be a little overpriced in FantasyScore. There will likely be better values.
Wed, 03 Sep 2014 14:51:16 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Kenny Stills (quadriceps) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Fantasy Tip: Stills could be questionable to play in Week 1, and he might even be a game-time decision Sunday. As a result, he's a risky play in daily games. Marques Colston is a safe bet for solid production, and rookie Brandin Cooks should return nice profit at a cheap price if Stills doesn't suit up.
Sun, 24 Aug 2014 06:25:15 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (illness) did not play in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 23, due to illness. Cooks took the warmup, and said he could have played if necessary.
Fantasy Tip: This is just a temporary setback for Cooks, and should not change his status on draft day. Look for Cooks to be drafted as a fourth or fifth wide receiver with upside.
Thu, 21 Aug 2014 18:02:37 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (illness) returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday, Aug. 21, and he is questionable for the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 23, according to head coach Sean Payton.
Fantasy Tip: Cooks has assumed many of the duties that Darren Sproles had in New Orleans' offense, and he has the speed to deliver big plays whenever he touches the ball. Consistency could be an issue for a rookie in an offense that tends to spread the wealth, but his upside is tough to ignore, especially in PPR formats. Draft him as a fourth or fifth receiver, but he has a chance to become a viable flex option.
Tue, 19 Aug 2014 17:31:37 -0700
New Orleans Saints OG Ben Grubbs (undisclosed) and WR Brandin Cooks (illness) missed practice Tuesday, Aug. 19. Cooks is dealing with a stomach virus, and Grubbs left practice early Monday, Aug. 18, with an unspecified injury.

New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks already has a play package designed specifically for him, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport. Teammate CB Keenan Lewis said to make sure your shoes are tight when covering Cooks and FS Jairus Byrd said he is mature beyond his years.
Fantasy Tip: Cooks has arguably been the most impressive and hyped offensive rookie this offseason. It's still hard to tell where he'll fit in with the likes of TE Jimmy Graham and WR Marques Colston in the mix, but it might be time to start giving Cooks more consideration.
Sun, 03 Aug 2014 08:09:44 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks has been the star of training camp thus far. He caught six passes in the scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 2.

New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks racked up over 100 yards receiving during the team's Black and Gold scrimmage this weekend, impressing some coaches
Wed, 18 Jun 2014 15:12:35 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks could be in line to replace RB Darren Sproles' production in his rookie season, according to QB Drew Brees. Brees noted that the team was creative with Sproles, using him out of the backfield, splitting him wide and using him on screen passes. Cooks was versatile and extremely productive in 2013 in college, and he's incredibly fast, has good hands and is strong after the catch. "Oh man, I've seen all the highlights, and that gets you excited," Brees said. "I think he can do a lot of things. I think he can play outside receiver. I think I he can play inside in the slot. You can hand him reverses. You can throw him screens. He can return punts."
Fantasy Tip: Remember, Cooks will be in his rookie season. Aside from that, he has big potential in this explosive offense. However, remember that Brees loves to spread the ball around to all his targets. Cooks is a fine late-round target with plenty of upside, but his chances may be few and far between.

Fantasy Tip: Meet the new Darren Sproles-Lance Moore in N'awlins. Cooks is in a fine situation to succeed immediately with Drew Brees feeding him via throws and carries. He's ideally a WR5 for fantasy drafters but worth a reach if there's little left in the sleeper pool.

Other than that, I've got great routes, I'm versatile and I can do a lot of things some of the guys in this class can't. It only takes one team to believe in me and, whoever that one is, it's getting the No. 1 receiver in this draft." The New York Jets are very interested in him, watching his pro game and visiting with him.
