Tue, 25 Nov 2014 14:04:15 -0800

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro (concussion) is in concussion protocol, according to head coach Rex Ryan, after suffering the concussion in Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills.

Jets | Jace Amaro leaves with head injury

Tue, 25 Nov 2014 08:58:57 -0800

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro (head) left the team's Week 12 game Monday, Nov. 24, with a head injury.

Fantasy Tip: Amaro will likely be checked for a concussion this week. If he can't go in Week 13, Jeff Cumberland will be New York's main tight end against the Miami Dolphins. Cumberland will be cheap at FantasyScore, but he's a desperation play at tight end.

Jets | Jace Amaro practicing

Wed, 19 Nov 2014 10:18:32 -0800

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro (illness) is participating in practice Wednesday, Nov. 19. He missed practice Monday, Nov. 17, because of an illness.

Fantasy Tip: Amaro looks like he has taken over the starting tight end job but has not had a big role in the passing game to his point. Amaro has a price of $3,100 on FantasyScore, but owners should consider spending some more money on a better option.

Jets | Jace Amaro doubled playing time in Week 6

Thu, 16 Oct 2014 11:29:54 -0700

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro played 36 snaps in the team's Week 6 loss to the Denver Broncos after being stuck between 20 and 25 snaps in every game this year before that. He also doubled his season high in catches and scored a touchdown against the Broncos. Amaro could be emerging into QB Geno Smith's No. 2 target behind WR Eric Decker in the passing game.

Fantasy Tip: Amaro's big Week 6 performance put him on the map as a popular waiver wire target this week. It might be time to capitalize on his cheap FantasyScore price ($3,000; 6.0% of cap) against the New England Patriots Thursday night.

Jets | Jace Amaro will be more involved

Thu, 11 Sep 2014 16:10:20 -0700

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro will become a major factor in the offense eventually, according to head coach Rex Ryan. "I like to stay away from the production thing because a lot of things go into that," Ryan said. "But he's going to be a major factor for our football team, and probably very soon." Amaro had two catches on four targets for seven yards in Week 1 in his NFL debut. He's making the transition from being flanked out wide in college to having to block on running plays.

Fantasy Tip: Amaro is worth watching. He could be more involved in the passing game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, but even at $3,700 (7.4% of cap) at FantasyScore, he's not worth gambling on just yet.
