Buccaneers | Mike Evans has solid outing

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 13:43:46 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught seven passes for 67 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Evans was facing a tough Vikings secondary this week but was able to make seven catches for the second straight week. He remains one of the better receivers in the NFL and is a must-start option in all fantasy leagues no matter the matchup.

Buccaneers | Tampa, Mike Evans start contract talk

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 07:06:25 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans still has two years left on his contract, but the Buccaneers have started preliminary contract extension talks with Evans, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Evans has become one of the best receivers in the NFL, and the two sides have plenty of time to work out a long-term contract extension. He should be a starting fantasy option no matter the matchup.

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 14:04:23 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught seven passes for 93 yards and one touchdown against the Chicago Bears in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Evans entered this season as one of the better receivers in the NFL and did not disappoint in his first game of the season. He should be considered a No. 1 receiver in leagues next week even though he is facing a tough Minnesota Vikings secondary.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans out of practice

Thu, 24 Aug 2017 06:55:31 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (undisclosed) is out of practice Thursday, Aug. 24, for the second straight day.

Fantasy Tip: Head coach Dirk Koetter said the issue is nothing serious, but it's worth watching after Evans vaulted himself to WR1 status last season.

Thu, 17 Aug 2017 20:31:49 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught five passes for 57 yards in the preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, Aug. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Evans finished in the top six in receptions (96), receiving yards (1,321) and touchdowns (12) in 2016 and will continue to be one of the top receivers in the NFL. He will be a No. 1 fantasy receiver in all leagues and likely will be a first- or second-round pick in drafts.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans busy in preseason opener

Fri, 11 Aug 2017 20:07:45 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught four passes on seven targets for 58 yards in a 23-12 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the preseason Friday, Aug. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Evans led the NFL in targets last season, and despite some offseason additions to the passing attack, he was still the clear No. 1 option for Jameis Winston in this one. Evans is a midrange WR1 in any format.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans not expected to have big spike

Thu, 06 Jul 2017 09:40:47 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans isn't expected to make a big jump in numbers with the addition of WR DeSean Jackson. "I'm not sure (how much better he can get) from a numbers standpoint, but Mike's confidence is at an all-time high right now,'' head coach Dirk Koetter said. "And I think with Mike, like with a lot of our guys, the main goal is to win, not create stats. The goal is to win games.''

Fantasy Tip: Evans solidified himself as a WR1 last season with a 96-1,321-12 line. There isn't much room for improvement there, and if the team is cautioning expectations, it's a good idea to do so from a fantasy expectation. Evans is still in the WR1 window and can be considered after the first few are off the board.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans pumped for DeSean Jackson

Thu, 18 May 2017 18:19:16 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said it will be "awesome" to play with WR DeSean Jackson, and he believes they "could be one of the best tandems in the league."

Fantasy Tip: Evans was already one of the top fantasy receivers, and having Jackson to take the top off defenses should only help his value. Jackson can be a little big-play dependent, but he has enough upside to use as a WR3.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans' option picked up

Mon, 17 Apr 2017 09:09:38 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans had his fifth-year option exercised Monday, April 17.

Fantasy Tip: Evans had a monster 96-1,321-12 season last year, but he had very little help. He might not receive 175 targets again with DeSean Jackson in town. However, that addition should free up Evans more, and he's in the low-end WR1 mix in fantasy.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans not concerned about contract

Sun, 29 Jan 2017 10:06:08 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is entering this final season of the four-year rookie contract he signed in 2014 - the team has a club option for 2018 as well - and is due to make only $690,000 (plus a $1.7 million roster bonus in 2017). Despite the low pay relative to his position, Evans has yet to express any concern about being compensated on the level of some of the game's elite receivers. "I'm not worried about that stuff. It'll come, but I'm mainly focused on getting better and helping this team win," Evans said of a possible contract extension in 2017.

Fantasy Tip: The expectation is the Bucs will approach Evans about an extension this summer on par with the five-year, $71.25 million contract Julio Jones signed in 2015. The club option makes doing a deal less urgent, but Tampa Bay would be wise to lock up one of the game's best receivers long-term as quickly as possible. After posting 96 catches for 1,321 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2016, Evans will be a first-round lock in fantasy drafts this spring and summer.
