|Buccaneers | Bucs to waive Austin Seferian-Jenkins|
Fri, 23 Sep 2016 11:40:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins is very talented and a lot of people labeled him with high expectations when he was drafted out of Washington a couple of years ago. However, off-the-field issues are derailing his once-promising career. He may get another shot somewhere else down the line, but in the meantime, the Bucs will have to make do with Cameron Brate and Luke Stocker at tight end. Neither is worth adding at this point in time.

|Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins arrested for DUI|
Fri, 23 Sep 2016 10:17:06 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was arrested Friday, Sept. 23, on suspicion of driving while under the influence, according to a USA Today report. He is being charged with DUI and violation of an ignition interlock device restriction from an arrest in Washington in 2013.
Fantasy Tip: ASJ has struggled to stay healthy in his two-plus years in the league, but the same character issues that dogged him at University of Washington have followed him to the NFL. This could just about do it for Seferian-Jenkins' NFL star-crossed career, sad as that might be for a 23-year-old with as much talent as any player at his position in the league.

|Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins climbs depth chart|
Wed, 07 Sep 2016 09:31:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins has tremendous fantasy upside because of his size and speed, but injuries have derailed him maintaining any momentum through his first two seasons in the league. Until the snap counts and target share is clearer between Seferian-Jenkins and Brate, there isn't a lot of fantasy value here. Seferian-Jenkins has the most long-term appeal, though.

|Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins not starting|
Mon, 05 Sep 2016 19:00:31 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins worked with the second-team offense in practice Monday, Sept. 5. Beat writer Greg Auman thinks Seferian-Jenkins plays plenty in the Week 1 opener, but TEs Cameron Brate and Luke Stocker are believed to be the team's starters.
Fantasy Tip: ASJ might need an injury to Brate or Stocker, or perhaps a trade to another team, to regain fantasy relevance. He yelled at his coach during the preseason opener, so clearly he is in the doghouse. Avoid him in most fantasy leagues for now.

|Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins yells at coach|
Thu, 01 Sep 2016 16:10:26 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was observed yelling at head coach Dirk Koetter during the team's preseason finale Wednesday, August 31. He was guided away by WR Russell Shepard from a potential confrontation, but Seferian-Jenkins said there are no hard feelings. "Sometimes I get emotional," he said. "I let my emotions get the best of me. I love my coaches. Coaches love me. We definitely talked and it was what it was."
Fantasy Tip: There's no doubt Seferian-Jenkins is a passionate player, and while he's displayed the tools that could make him an upper echelon tight end in fantasy, there's also other intangibles holding him back, such as potential attitude concerns and injury issues. Either way, Seferian-Jenkins still has to emerge past Cameron Brate for the starting job, meaning owners can wait late in drafts if they want to pull the trigger on the former second-round draft pick.

|Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins to play with ones|
Fri, 26 Aug 2016 10:12:30 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins will play with the first-team offense Friday, Aug. 26, in the third preseason game. Seferian-Jenkins says he's finally starting to figure out the mental aspect of the game and the need to be detail oriented and fundamentally sound at all times.
Fantasy Tip: ASJ has TE1 talent, but he hasn't avoided injury and has been inconsistent. He's a TE2 you can take late and have pay off in a big way.

|Buccaneers | Seferian-Jenkins back on first team again|
Sun, 21 Aug 2016 15:27:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Brate hasn't done much this preseason, while ASJ has generally blocked well and caught all five of his targets, suggesting the former may be on his way to delivering on his vast potential. If Seferian-Jenkins has finally "figured it out", he has high-end TE1 upside. He's well worth a late-round gamble in all fantasy drafts.

|Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins has best practice|
Thu, 18 Aug 2016 16:07:45 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins had "probably" his best day of camp Thursday, August 18, according to head coach Dirk Koetter. He was "nearly unstoppable" during 7-on-7 red zone drills, hauling in three touchdown passes from QB Jameis Winston.
Fantasy Tip: There's no denying Seferian-Jenkins' potential, but the former second-round pick has simply struggled to stay on the field due to injury. In fact, since arriving in Tampa Bay, he's managed to suit up in only 16 of 32 ballgames. If he can just stay healthy, Seferian-Jenkins could turn out to be one of the league's breakout players in 2016. He should also easily outperform Cameron Brate, his main competition for the starting tight end spot.

|Buccaneers | Cameron Brate the starter|
Wed, 03 Aug 2016 08:30:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: ASJ showed flashes, but his health and consistency have been problems. Brate probably doesn't have as much upside in fantasy as ASJ would, and he's a low-end TE2 right now.

|Buccaneers | Cameron Brate a red zone weapon|
Fri, 17 Jun 2016 09:37:21 -0700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate emerged as a favorite target of QB Jameis Winston last year, and head coach Dirk Koetter has been impressed with the tight end in the red zone this offseason. Brate caught 23 passes for 288 yards last year and scored three touchdowns when TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was injured. Brate will battle with Seferian-Jenkins for a starting position in training camp.
Fantasy Tip: ASF is the superior athlete and incumbent starter, but his offseason didn't get off on the right foot, as he was dismissed from a practice last week by Koetter for not knowing what he was doing on offense. Brate has a real chance to make some noise and gain starter reps, so you may want to downgrade Seferian-Jenkins for now as more of a TE2. Stay tuned.
