Buccaneers | Cameron Brate earns praise from coach

Sat, 26 Mar 2016 17:12:12 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate exceeded expectations in the absence of an injured TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins in 2015, finishing with 288 yards and three touchdowns on 23 receptions. "Cam is an ascending player and our hope for him is that he takes it and runs with it. That's what you want. It would be a great story and great for our team," head coach Dirk Koetter said.

Fantasy Tip: Brate is someone to keep an eye on going forward if Seferian-Jenkins continues to struggle with injuries, as he showed obvious chemistry with Jameis Winston last season. Short of another injury-marred campaign from Seferian-Jenkins, however, the former undrafted free agent will do more to occasionally chip away at ASJ's value than become a fantasy force. Owners can ignore him in all but the deepest leagues.

Buccaneers | Coach defends Austin Seferian-Jenkins

Sat, 26 Mar 2016 17:11:18 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins has missed 16 of 32 possible games since entering the league in 2014, but head coach Dirk Koetter stated recently that no one worked harder at rehabbing or was more anxious to hit the field in 2015 than Seferian-Jenkins.

Fantasy Tip: ASJ has been able to catch much of a break injury-wise thus far in his two-year career. His reputation also took a hit this past season as critics wondered about his toughness, but Koetter acknowledged the significance of his 2015 shoulder injury was obvious to the coaching staff. ASJ should come cheap on draft day and is a very high-upside TE2 in fantasy.

Buccaneers | ASJ answers fantasy owners' prayers

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 18:44:27 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins posted two receptions for 60 yards in the Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears, including a Hail Mary 43-yard touchdown grab. He was targeted four times.

Fantasy Tip: ASJ didn't have a giant stat line, but the 43-yard miracle touchdown certainly changed a fantasy result or two in championship week and in daily play.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins sees limited work

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 06:47:45 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins played 21 snaps (30% of the offense) Sunday, Dec. 6.

Fantasy Tip: He had three grabs for 31 yards and should be an under-the-radar option in fantasy once he begins playing more.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins able to play

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 21:23:44 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) was able to play in the Week 13 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He posted three catches for 31 yards on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: It appears safe to trust ASJ, as he made it through the entire game without any setbacks. He is still only worth using as a salary saver in FantasyScore going forward.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins active

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 08:56:01 -0800

Confirming previous reports, Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) is active for Week 13's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) missed nine games because of a strained shoulder and was just cleared for contact by doctors two days ago. He had excellent chemistry with QB Jameis Winston ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) prior to getting hurt and could be worth using as a sleeper pick in FantasyScore this afternoon, although it is unknown how many snaps he will play.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins probable

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 07:03:59 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 13's game against the Atlanta Falcons, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) was finally cleared for contact Friday, Dec. 4, after missing nine games due to a separated shoulder. He shouldn't be relied on in any fantasy formats this week because it is unknown how many snaps he will play or how effective he will be.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins questionable

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 13:17:03 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Seferian-Jenkins ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) was cleared for contact Friday, but that's hardly a guarantee that he'll be back on the field Sunday. ASF hasn't played since Sept. 20 and shouldn't be counted on in any fantasy formats, even if he suits up.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins cleared

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 11:31:46 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) has been cleared for contact Friday, Dec. 4.

Fantasy Tip: ASJ ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has missed nine games and may not have time to be ready for the Atlanta Falcons this week. Look elsewhere on FantasyScore.

Buccaneers | Austin Seferian-Jenkins limited

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 15:07:21 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: ASF ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has been maddening for his fantasy owners, and he really doesn't belong on any rosters until he returns to action and shows that he can produce. Until that time comes, stay away from him everywhere. The Bucs could struggle mightily against a strong Atlanta Falcons secondary, so avoiding their aerial game entirely in daily leagues would be wise.
