Packers | Davante Adams having 'very good camp'

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 10:48:02 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams is having a "very good camp," according to head coach Mike McCarthy. "That's what you see; he's healthy and he's taken a step."

Fantasy Tip: That's good to hear concerning Adams, considering he was mostly a disappointment a season ago, even with Green Bay missing Jordy Nelson all year. Even with Nelson back, Adams should still be heavily involved as the slot receiver, and is certainly worth monitoring for his potential on a high-powered offense. He deserves a spot on the back-end of most rosters for his ceiling.

Packers | Davante Adams trying to shine

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 19:19:42 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams has had some good moments and some bad ones in training camp, according to beat writer Tom Silverstein. It is believed Adams needs to make a statement in the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 18, against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Adams has plenty of company at receiver, and even if he makes the team he is likely to be the No. 4 or 5 receiver at best. He has a chance to shine last season due to several injuries, but this season with more receivers in the mix his fantasy appeal is rather minimal.

Packers | Davante Adams struggling

Sun, 31 Jul 2016 23:41:29 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams dropped passes in the two-minute drill and in the end zone during practice Sunday, July 31.

Fantasy Tip: Adams needs to turn it on if he wants to make the team. He has failed to deliver on a couple of big opportunities in his career, but he has WR3 talent in fantasy. He's a WR5 flyer if he can turn it around.

Packers | Jared Abbrederis making plays in camp

Sun, 31 Jul 2016 14:33:35 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jared Abbrederis has impressed in camp while WR Davante Adams and WR Jeff Janis have been quiet in the early going.

Fantasy Tip: Abbrederis has been limited to nine games through two pro seasons due to injuries and probably needs both Janis and Adams to remain unimpressive in order to take over the No. 3 role behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. The odds are long that will actually happen, but it is a possibility and the third receiver role has typically been an underrated source of fantasy production in Green Bay. Abbrederis should go undrafted in most leagues, but he's worth monitoring during the preseason just in case.

Packers | Davante Adams on the bubble?

Wed, 13 Jul 2016 20:24:26 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams had a difficult season in 2015, and while he posted 50 receptions he averaged just 9.7 yards per catch. The last time a receiver with at least 25 receptions finished with that few yards per catch was in 1951. He dropped 12 of his 96 targets, while averaging just 3.0 yards per catch. With a deep receiving corps, beat writer Rob Reischel predicts Adams will need a big training camp and preseason for a roster spot.

Fantasy Tip: Adams was a huge disappointment last season for fantasy owners expecting big production with Jordy Nelson out of the picture. Adams had too many drops, disappeared in too many games and just showed very little consistency from week to week. With Ty Montgomery, Jeff Janis, Jared Abbrederis and Trevor Davis all looking for a piece of the pie, Adams needs a big camp.

Packers | HC impressed by Davante Adams

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 19:13:20 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams is looking for a rebound after a poor season in 2015. He struggled with an ankle injury suffered in Week 2 which he aggravated the following week. Adams never fully recovered until the playoffs, and then he suffered a knee injury. During the offseason he bulked up, lifting weights once his knee fully healed. His head coach has taken notice. "He looks stronger this year than in the past and he's healthy," head coach Mike McCarthy said.

Fantasy Tip: Adams had a golden opportunity last season when Jordy Nelson went down, but he failed to take advantage. Now, Nelson is back, Ty Montgomery, Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis emerged as other mouths to feed, Randall Cobb is still a top-notch receiver and the club drafted Trevor Davis. There is a lot of competition for the eye of Aaron Rodgers, so Adams is not as attractive from a fantasy perspective as he was last fall.

Packers | Davante Adams ready to bounce back

Thu, 26 May 2016 19:58:18 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams said he wasn't proud of his performance last season, but he plans to prove to the team and to himself what he is capable of in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Injuries played a role in Adams' struggles, but with Jordy Nelson returning, even a healthy Adams will be no more than a bench option in fantasy leagues.

Packers | Davante Adams may not make team

Tue, 03 May 2016 12:09:37 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams' roster spot is not a lock for the 2016 season, in the opinion of Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. WRs Jared Abbrederis, Ty Montgomery, Jeff Janis and Trevor Davis are also not guaranteed roster spots.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard to envision Adams not being on the Packers' roster in 2016, but Silverstein posited that only Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb are guaranteed to make the team among the wide receivers. It's more likely than unlikely that Adams is still a Packer this season, though, but he shouldn't be viewed as more than a WR4.

Packers | Davante Adams was huge disappointment

Wed, 03 Feb 2016 22:01:33 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams was a huge disappointment last season, dropping 12 of his 96 targets, or 12.5 percent. He also averaged just 9.7 yards per reception, and only 3.0 yards after the catch. Beat writer Rob Reischel feels Adams might simply be in a fight for a roster spot in training camp and the preseason.

Fantasy Tip: Adams had a chance to shine once Jordy Nelson went down in preseason and he blew his golden opportunity. He might never get the chance to start again, at least in Green Bay. Fantasy players will want to avoid him until the late rounds in 2016, if even then.
