Rams | St. Louis hosts Marcus Mariota

Thu, 16 Apr 2015 15:17:58 -0700

Oregon QB Marcus Mariota worked out for the St. Louis Rams Thursday, April 16.

Fantasy Tip: Many experts expect Mariota to be taken by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 2 overall pick. A lot can happen within the next two weeks for that to change, however. Mariota should be given at least a year before being considered a fantasy starter, especially if he's with the Rams.

Chargers | SD to trade up for Marcus Mariota?

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 21:04:12 -0700

University of Oregon QB Marcus Mariota worked out for the San Diego Chargers Tuesday, April 14, with head coach Mike McCoy, offensive coordinator Frank Reich, quarterbacks coach Nick Sirianni and several front office members in attendance, sources said. The Chargers pick No. 17 overall, and it would be highly unlikely a camp would allow its client to work out for a team that far back without a strong sense a trade up is a real possibility.

Fantasy Tip: If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers elect to pick Mariota No. 1 overall, then all of this is obviously a moot point. But if the Bucs choose Florida State’s Jameis Winston, Mariota would be there at No. 2 and the Tennessee Titans could be the trade partner for the Bolts. Mariota’s fantasy value is murky at this point, as he could be drafted and sit or he could be drafted to start immediately.

Chargers | SD to work out Marcus Mariota

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 17:38:29 -0700

The San Diego Chargers will work out University of Oregon QB Marcus Mariota in Eugene Tuesday, April 14. The workout had been scheduled for Wednesday, April 15.

Fantasy Tip: Mariota certainly would not be around when the Chargers pick, so they would obviously need to trade up. But the team has had interest in Mariota for a while. Philip Rivers is getting a little long in the tooth, and Mariota could be their QB of the near future. Stay tuned.

Jets | Marcus Mariota an option for Jets?

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 14:12:53 -0700

Oregon QB Marcus Mariota could be a target of the New York Jets as the NFL Draft approaches. New York is one team that could trade up with the Tennessee Titans for the No. 2 overall pick.

Fantasy Tip: As it stands, Geno Smith seems to be the top option to start for the Jets, with Ryan Fitzpatrick also in the mix. Obviously, Mariota would give them a run for their money for the starting quarterback position. Whoever starts will be an intriguing target in fantasy leagues with WRs Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker to throw to.

Rams | St. Louis to work out Marcus Mariota

Sat, 11 Apr 2015 10:27:05 -0700

Oregon QB Marcus Mariota will work out for the St. Louis Rams next week, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Mariota's name is being prominently connected with the Tennessee Titans, but the Rams could still make a trade if they really want Mariota, although they recently traded for Nick Foles. Wherever Mariota goes, he's a risky starting quarterback in fantasy leagues, especially if he's on a team with a subpar supporting cast.

Titans | Marcus Mariota to visit Titans

Thu, 09 Apr 2015 16:58:30 -0700

Oregon QB Marcus Mariota will visit the Tennessee Titans Thursday, April 9. Mariota has already worked out for Tennessee privately.

Fantasy Tip: It seems that the Titans are seriously interested in Mariota. If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Jameis Winston with the No. 1 overall pick, Mariota could very well be heading to Tennessee. Mariota is talented, but it will likely take some time for him to become acclimated to the NFL. He shouldn't be considered a starting fantasy quarterback option right away.
