Saints | Brandon Coleman makes the cut

Mon, 05 Sep 2016 06:03:05 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman made the 53-man roster to begin the season.

Fantasy Tip: He looks to be running at the fourth receiver behind Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead and Michael Thomas. The Saints' offense should be potent enough to give Coleman some luster in deeper leagues as a late-round flyer.

Saints | Brandon Coleman not standing out

Fri, 26 Aug 2016 07:18:50 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman has had a "pedestrian" camp and preseason, according to head coach Sean Payton. His roster spot is in question nearing the final week of camp.

Fantasy Tip: The potent system gives Coleman some WR5 luster if he manages to make the team. However, he'd be the fourth receiver at best.

Saints | Brandon Coleman busy in loss

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 22:20:09 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman posted six receptions for 47 yards on 10 targets in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 20, against the Houston Texans. He saw increased work with WRs Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead resting.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman looked good last preseason, but he never did quite emerge as that special fantasy sleeper everyone envisioned. Now, Brandin Cooks is the top banana and a WR1 for fantasy owners, and Willie Snead and rookie Michael Thomas look to be special. It appears Coleman will be the No. 4 wideout in NOLA, and more of a WR5 for fantasy players in most formats.

Saints | Brandon Coleman has stiff competition

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 20:40:46 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman needs a strong training camp and preseason to secure his roster spot, as the team drafted a similar type of receiver in WR Michael Thomas.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman was considered a big-time sleeper last season but he never really panned out. Now, he might be on the bubble heading into the new season. Avoid him in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues for now.

Saints | High hopes for Brandon Coleman

Tue, 16 Feb 2016 21:07:47 -0800

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman appears to be next in line if WR Marques Colston is not brought back or elects to retire. General manager Mickey Loomis believes the team has a replacement ready in Coleman. "Brandon Coleman is a big guy out of Rutgers that has done some good things and I think in many ways is the heir apparent to Marques," Loomis said Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman posted nine receptions for 126 yards over the final two games, giving the team hope he can live up to his immense preseason 2015 hype. If he gets a chance at a starting gig heading into 2016, he would potentially be worth a mid-round fantasy selection.

Saints | Willie Snead feeling better

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 16:04:03 -0800

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead (calf) is feeling good after returning to the practice field this week after he sat out in Week 13. "Coach thought it would be good to take a week. I benefitted from that. I feel good right now," Snead said. WR Brandon Coleman had four catches for 73 yards and aa touchdown in Snead's place last weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Brandin Cooks suffered a concussion in practice Thursday and is now doubtful against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That puts Snead ($3,400, 6.8% of cap), Coleman ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Marques Colston ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) in prime sleeper territory. Snead is your most attractive as a value pick, but Coleman and Colston could also return huge profit.

Saints | Willie Snead rising up pecking order

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 07:54:59 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead played 48 snaps (66% of the offense) Sunday, Oct. 4, in Week 4, while WR Brandon Coleman played just 19 for 26% of the offense.

Fantasy Tip: Snead ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) had six grabs for 89 yards and could be a decent FantasyScore flyer in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Saints | Brandon Coleman plays well

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 14:33:12 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman scored the only touchdown for the Saints in Week 1 versus the Arizona Cardinals. In total, Coleman caught four passes for 41 yards and the one score.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman performed better than the Saints No. 2 wide receiver, Marques Colston, but that won't necessarily be the case every week. Coleman does give New Orleans a valuable red-zone threat at 6-foot-6. If you're weak at wide receiver, he's worth claiming.

Saints | QB comfortable with Brandon Coleman

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 18:57:47 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman has impressed QB Drew Brees during training camp and the preseason. The quarterback said Tuesday, Sept. 2, that he has a great comfort level with Coleman.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman has raced up the depth chart and is a real threat to the targets and fantasy value of Marques Colston. He is worth a late-round flier pick, as he has a ton of upside and real potential to be a steal as a WR3/4 or flex play.

Saints | Brandon Coleman praised by QB

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 16:53:12 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman has developed comfortability with QB Drew Brees. Brees said he is pleased with the training camp and preseason Coleman has had.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman is slated to be the Saints' No. 3 wide receiver behind Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston. He still has a lot to prove, but Coleman is worth drafting if for nothing more than depth. He could be a solid red-zone target as he stands 6-foot-6.
