Saints | Brandon Coleman makes most of only catch

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 14:58:11 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman caught one pass for 54 yards against the Chicago Bears in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman has been held to one or two catches in six of the seven games this season but does have three touchdowns. He is a risky option because of his low reception total this season but could be a flex option against favorable matchups.

Saints | Drew Brees talks up Brandon Coleman

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 09:13:31 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman leads the team in receiving touchdowns (three), matching his career high. Not only has he emerged as one of Drew Brees' favorite red zone targets, but he is regarded as the team's best blocker at his position. "He's one of my favorite teammates … Whatever you ask him to do, he's ready to do to help the team. And week to week that changes. … The guy can do anything you ask him to do. And he does it willingly, and he's tough and he's smart. He knows each receiver position. We have a lot of experience together now, this is going on four years. ... When you have that much time together, that's when you really develop a rapport," Brees said.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman only has 12 catches, so owners don't need to rush to the waiver wire for him quite yet. However, his work out of the slot figures to make it difficult for Willie Snead to realize the same fantasy status when he is finally over his hamstring injury that he did in each of the last two seasons. Coleman is only worth adding in the deepest of leagues, while Snead profiles more as a WR4 for now.

Saints | Brandon Coleman catches TD

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 14:50:25 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman caught two passes for 31 yards against the Green Bay Packers in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman has caught one or two passes in five of the six games this season but has three touchdowns catches during that span. He will see some targets next week but is not a great fantasy option.

Saints | Brandon Coleman cashes in catch for TD

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 13:42:56 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman had just one target in Week 3 at Carolina and he cashed it in for an 11-yard touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: That's back-to-back games in which Coleman has found the end zone, but temper fantasy expectations heading into Week 4 against the Dolphins in London. He has just 10 total targets through three games.

Saints | Brandon Coleman posts 82 yards, TD

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 19:01:19 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman corralled four balls for 82 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 2 against the Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: A couple of seasons ago everyone was talking about Coleman as a fantasy sleeper but he struggled early and got lost in the shuffle. Now, Brandin Cooks is gone and Coleman has the chance to be the second option in the high-octane pass offense behind Michael Thomas. He'll need more games like this before he can be trusted by fantasy owners on a regular basis. Remember, Willie Snead is due to return from suspension soon, and Coleman's window could slam shut quickly.

Saints | Brandon Coleman has Drew Brees' trust

Mon, 31 Jul 2017 06:10:53 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman has the trust of QB Drew Brees. "There's really not a guy who I have more trust in than Brandon Coleman, honestly," Brees said. "I've played with him now for a long time, and I feel like he's a guy that can play every position. He can play X, he can play Z, and he can play inside. So his versatility in this offense is really good, he's a very smart player and he's been a guy who's just done whatever we needed him to do over the last few years."

Fantasy Tip: Coleman is a big target, and the subtraction of Brandin Cooks could give him an opportunity to break out in his third season. He's a sneaky WR5 candidate.

Saints | Brandon Coleman makes the cut

Mon, 05 Sep 2016 06:03:05 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman made the 53-man roster to begin the season.

Fantasy Tip: He looks to be running at the fourth receiver behind Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead and Michael Thomas. The Saints' offense should be potent enough to give Coleman some luster in deeper leagues as a late-round flyer.

Saints | Brandon Coleman not standing out

Fri, 26 Aug 2016 07:18:50 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman has had a "pedestrian" camp and preseason, according to head coach Sean Payton. His roster spot is in question nearing the final week of camp.

Fantasy Tip: The potent system gives Coleman some WR5 luster if he manages to make the team. However, he'd be the fourth receiver at best.

Saints | Brandon Coleman busy in loss

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 22:20:09 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman posted six receptions for 47 yards on 10 targets in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 20, against the Houston Texans. He saw increased work with WRs Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead resting.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman looked good last preseason, but he never did quite emerge as that special fantasy sleeper everyone envisioned. Now, Brandin Cooks is the top banana and a WR1 for fantasy owners, and Willie Snead and rookie Michael Thomas look to be special. It appears Coleman will be the No. 4 wideout in NOLA, and more of a WR5 for fantasy players in most formats.
